I had my Mirena IUD put in on March 8th. I had one very heavy and long period about 2 weeks after it was put in. After that it was just light spotting which completely stopped about mid-April. I've been feeling extremely tired have had a few other symptoms of pregnancy. I have taken 3 HPT since April, all of which have been negative(the last one I’m not 100% sure). But I'm still paranoid that I'm pregnant. I'm going to request a blood test from my doctor next week.

Nicolle, I would wait another week and then take a test. If it is still neg. go to your doc. The doctor says there can be false negatives, but not a false positives.

For those of you who think you may be pregnant certainly find out for sure. Leaving the iud in while preg can cause serious complications. If you have taken a home preg test and it came up positive then it is, because there is no such thing as a false positive.

i have taken 3 that all came up positive. i went for blood this morning so i'll know for sure later this afternoon. i'll keep you all posted

Trisha and nicolle have you spoken to your doctors about removing the IUD?If so what did they say?

i already had my iud removed because i got pg and it was ectopic. now i think i'm pg again.

ok this is whatI got yesterday fromthe doctor. she couldnt find the IUD strings by vision oe feel. So I am going in on Monday at 1400(2:00) for an u/s and see where it is located at. I think that my husband is nuts cause he tells me that he cab feel them when umdo the "deed" and that my doctor is blind. well, the blood test was neg for preg but I think that i still am. I will upate you all on Monday ! Have a great weekend!

Relenda~ hey i am glad that i am not along ith the jeans issues.. or undies either ;0) anyways i am hoping to get the IUD removed and go to the BC pills i had feeling like this all that time! Good Luck!

Nicolle did you take a home preg test?
What makes you think you are preg? Even if your home test comes back neg you should take a blood test, because you could be to early along for it to show in your urine.

i thought i was because i took 3 hpt that came back positive. i went for blood and i'm not so i can breath again now.

Nicolle, I'm glad that you are not preg, for your sake. I'm surprised though, because I was told that you could not get a false positive. you learn something new every day.

Hey, I missed my period 15 days late before it started and when it came on it was very light. I did go to the doctor they did a urine pt and it was negative then they did a v____al exam and they found out that I had an Ovarian Cyst which was caused by the IUD. I didn't have any medical insurance. So I went to apply for medicad and was approved I now need to go back to get a u/s done to give more information.

I went to the doctor and he verified that my IUD was still in place. He then ran another urine test. It, too, was negative. I had taken a HPT on June 10th that came out negative as well.
I don't FEEL pregnant the way I did before (not as moody anyway!), but I am still craving pickles, olives, and cheese. Maybe the Mirena causes pregnancy symptoms??? I dunno.
Anyway, I am so relieved!!!!!!!!
