Charmane- Wow, I have 5 children and lately I have been feeling pregnant again. I have the Mirena IUD, I just can't think it could be possible, I keep telling myself it's in my head! But after reading your insert, I'm more concerned. How did you find out you were pregnant? Did you start feeling pregnant? How long have you had the IUD? I'm also breadtfeeding my 6 mos baby, so I'm hoping that this is extra protection and helping to prevent pregnancy. But lately, I've just felt pregnant, having 4 kids in the last 6 years I know the feeling well. Were you having a monthly period? I did at first for about 2 months straight and then I completely stopped. I've been debating about taking a P-test. I've been playing the symptoms off as just stress, but I'm not sure, obviously I'm really fertile. What do you think? Charmane good luck to you, I know how having a big family takes a lot of work, and is especially harder when you are pregnant. Patience is a virtue.
If you could write back that would be cool. I think I should just take a test, but I'm not sure what to think.

Well I'm only 6 and a 1/2 weeks. The iud is still in but its mostly in the cervix. I have to go see a gynacoligist (sp?) to see what the next step is.

Hi, Crystal, I went in to get an IUD put in & had a pt that was neg so I had it put in,4wks later I had nausea etc done a pt & it was pos had an u/s to check where the IUD was & apparently according to my u/s I was 5wks pg when the IUD was put in even though i had a period 2 days b 4. I have endodemetriosis so my periods are all over the place. You should do a pt anyway at least you'll know. Good luck with everything, my kids are 11(boy,stepson), 10(boy),5(girl), & 4(twin boys), so mine are a bit spaced out, doesn't make it any easier though, but easier than all under 6.

Hey Charmane, I think you are right I'm going to take a p-test this weekend just to be sure. After the emotional roller coaster I've been on the last few days, I know for sure I am either pregnant or having PMS. So you were already pregnant when you got the IUD. Couldn't they tell? And why wouldn't they take out the IUD? I know above in another insert one girl talked about her sister or someone having a baby with the IUD in place. She said the baby was born with a "T" on her forehead but other than that the baby was healthy. I'll be praying for you, good luck!! Most of our kids are about the same age, my kids are 10 (stepson, I've raised since age 4), 5 (boy), 4 (girl), 2 (girl), and last but least, 6 mos (girl). Have you found out what you are having yet? I'll keep you updated on the results. Take care.

For you women who are having problems with your partner feeling the string, you can go back to your ob and they can try to fix it so it doesnt effect your patrner during intercourse.

The p-test was negative, I guess it's PMS. Charmane hang in there. Babies are blessings from above, no matter how many you have.

My wife was recently determined to be pregnant and we were using an IUD (I don't know the brand). She had bariatic (gastric bypa__s) surgery last year and lost 78 lbs., so that might have something to do with it. That being said, they removed the device and the ob-gyn said it was "in place". We are kind of freaking out because we already have three children and just determined that my wife needed to rejoin the workforce to help with our financial difficulties. So much for that.
She's been cramping lately, so maybe G-d is going to make the decision, we are not comfortable with making ourselves.
Needless to say, I am setting up an appointment for a vasectomy. 99% just ain't good enough.

Hi Crystal, no I haven't found out what it is it will be a suprise, when I aws pg with the twins they said in 2 u/s it was boy/girl even pointing out the female anatomy to me & I had 2 boys even the dr was suprised so I'd rather wait then be told in case its wrong but this one feels like a girl, if it is a girl my daughter will be happy shes the only girl & wants a baby sister. I was on an Aussie website & 2 people have said friends have had healthy babies at full term holding the IUD in their hand when they were born. My ob said theres only been doc_mentation of only 1 only woman given birth with IUD in, guess he didn't look too hard. Good luck with everything.

Britney...you should get a second opionion. The chances of miscarrage if the IUD stay in are 60% and there can be all sorts of complications to you and the baby. Have you seen an OBGYN?
I am 11 1/2 weeks pregnant with an IUD stuck inside of me...the OB has tried to remove it under anesthetic and no luck. I have had two ultrasounds and the IUD has shifted and is poking into the side of the pregnancy sack I spent Sunday in the Emergency because of fluids leaking out. I am asked to make a decision and this is the hardest thing I have had to do. I have two beautiful girls and they need their Mom. The Dr has said that I could go into labour at 26 weeks which means a premature baby which can have alot of different complications. I am not trying to scare you but go get a pregnancy test if you are pregnant call your Dr's office right away.

I can at least feel a little comforted knowing that there are other woman in my situation. I have had the IUD since 97 and I am 2 weeks late and I am normally pretty much on schedule. I am so scared right now. I keep coming up with excuses as to not get a pregnancy test done but I'm just not sure. I keep hoping that if I wait I'll end up getting my period soon.

Just remember everyone... we are but a small sample of the folks who have an iud. So don't go screaming yet!
As it is, though... Ya'll are scaring me. I've lost a bunch of weight since I got mine in and my period has been pretty sporadic (still b___stfeeding). Makes me tempted to just pick up a pg test. Just in case.

I also have the iud and think I might be pg. I have 3 boys age 3 and under. I"ve taken two tests and both were negative, but I'm extremely sick, b___st are full, and I have that feeling.
