Lindsey, I would sugggest getting a blood test done and see if your DR will get an ultrasound done for you as well. My DR did both for me after finding out that my thyoid was messed up /// last time that happenedI was pg with my daughter

I also think I am pregnant. I have had the iud for 10 months. I have had a period every month and the last two months nothing. I have two boys and planned to be finished. The symptoms are what makes me want to go take a test. So many of you are pregnant. I quess nothing is 100%. Good luck to all.

The best advice I have for the women who think they are pregnant is to find out as soon as possible. The doctor will want to remove the iud as soon as possible. I have read and heard from my doctor that the iud should be removed before 13 weeks. The risk of miscarriage is just as great in the second trimester as the first, if not greater. There is also a great risk for a life threatening infection if the iud is left in place. I am 16 weeks pregnant with the merina in. I only found out 2 weeks ago. I blamed all my symptoms on just having the iud placed April 11th. I actually was already pregnant when I go the iud, but tests done at home and at the doctor's office were negative. I was using the norplant which worked great until about 2 weeks before I had it removed. Those who think they are pregnant, take care of yourselves, go to the doctor asap. I have a feeling I will just be a nervous wreck until I am holding a healthy, happy baby in my arms.

I was floored when I came upon these posts. I too have a Mirena, placed August of 2003. I had light spotting once after placed no periods since the spotting. My doctor never explained to me I'm suppossed to check the string once a month? Now 2 weeks ago my b___sts started to swell up and become real tender( hurts to put a bra on), just like with my first pregnancy. That was the first thing I noticed and made me take a test last time. I'm taking 1 tomorrow. I can't belive this. I'm gonna be real p__sed at my doctor if I'm pregnant.

If I were you, I would consider speaking with a lawyer. It can be fatal if the IUD is not removed.By leaving it in, the risk of the devise imbedding into the baby's head(or other parts) runs extremely high.

OMG!! I am feeling REALLY nervous right now cuz I have an appt. this afternoon cuz I couldn't find the strings last week and I have been feeling "pregnant" (tender and swollen b___sts and extremely tired). I have two children ages 7 and 3 and did not want any more children. Reading all these posts is convincing me to believe that I am pregnant even though I took 2 pregnancy tests and they both came out negative. I know my own body and am familiar with pregnancy sypmtoms due to previous 2 pregnancies. I am very anxious.

This is incredible. I've had a paraguard IUD for about 8 months. I've got an 11 month old son and just got a positive pregnancy test on monday. I see my midwife on friday. As with some others on teh board, i've never been able to feel the string, even right after it was checked and in place, etc. How can we be the 1%?? This isnt' right.

I had my IUD removed yesterday. my hubby was mad cuz i didnt with out him knowing that I was goingto get it removed and is wanting me to get another 1 inserted. I am on the pill now. I am not losing the weight from my previous 2 pregnancies that Iam needing to lose so badly..... I am going to stay on the pil till i feel the need to go back and possibly getting another IUD placed. I am so confused. the Triphaisol tat I am on is 1 of 100 chance to get pregnant again

well I had my 18wk u/s today ( I'll be 19wks tomorrow), & everythings fine with the baby, no mention of the IUD so I don't know where it has gone now. I'm hoping everything else will go smoothly, I can't wait to get past 28wks then I'll know the baby has a good chance of survival if it comes out premmie (hopefully not). Hey girls a little update for you all I did start my period and not even 2 weeks after i had my period I start having it again which was last night so i made an appointment with the on base gyn and she started looking and said your strings are a little long so I am going to clip them and then she discovered my iud was hangin out wow that went over my head but anyway I got blood took for a pregnancy test and I find out the results tommorow and I am sure its negative. I am having the Mirena another go around to see how it works out this time ... To let you know how bad you bleed when your iud isnt in right its like a real heavy period which is all I have had and now that the iud is out I aint bleeding at all..

I have a huge update it is 9:50 my gyn just called and told me to sit down that she had some news for me ... I am pregnate I have no idea how far and I am so worried for the baby because I am still bleeding,, I know this will be my third child but I take kids as a blessing and I hope to god nothings wrong the gyn says it might be fromt he irratation the iud caused.. I really need someone right know.. I dont know what to feel...

I am starting to feel better with my IUD taken out. Hey guys!!! Well, the PTs were all negative again this month, and my period is late again.... On a higher note, MY IUD WILL BE TAKEN OUT MONDAY!!!!! However, it will be due to having my tubes tied on Tuesday!!!!!!!!!! I am sooo nervous, but I cant risk getting pregnant again...

Welp I went to a obgyn and I am so confused but hopefull.. I had a v____al ultra sound and there is nothing there she listed a number of things that it could be one is that I am not far along enough to see anything ... So I was sent to the lab on base and got more blood drawn they are going to take a look at my numbers and also I go Monday morning to get some more blood drawn and monday evening I have an app. to see if they can give me a good explanation.. I am so confused.... Thank you so much for your support I never did think this would happen to me at this time....

Just a question for everyone that got pregnant while you had the Mirena IUD in. Did your home pregnancy tests come up negative? Just wondering. Thanks!
