ihave a copper iud...i have had it for almost 2 1/2yrs...been really sick the last week and a half and have all the other symptoms i had with my first two kids. took a test on friday and it came out neg. but took one today and there was a very light pos. line. could it be a false pos. or is it just to early for a strong pos. resulte? the date of my last mp would put me at 4wks.

Kristi, call your doctor! Any + result even if its very faint can mean you're pregnant. Heck, we've had women on this thread and the other"iud pregnancy" thread with several negative results come up positive a few weeks later! So don't wait, call now make an appoinment, the sooner you are seen the better! Good Luck! Oh and please come back and let us know what is happening. A lot of us are convinced this iud is not as effective as they want us to believe.

Hi Liz, Yeah I'm still hear just been sitting back reading the other posts. I'm now 23wks pg still have the IUD in theres no way they can remove it, apparentely my IUD is at the side in a 'safe' place unless it moves of course, I've had a bit of pain which dr says its hormones of course, very tired all the time but I've got a new Gyny now & he seems more interested & thorough then the last one he said everythings going fine & he thinks the IUD will come out in the placenta as he has had it happen before I'm just hoping I can get to about 28wks then I'll feel better cause if anything happens the baby has a good chance of survival.Even though I'm 23wks my fundal height is 29 so I hope the baby won't be too big.We are a bit luckier in Australia as we have free hospital care & drs aren't too expensive.I only moved to this area last year but with my other kids we had a midwife clinic at the hospital so I cost nothing to see the drs, but down here they don't have that. I hope you are all keeping well, I'll let yous know how I'm going, how far along is everyone?

Hi, I am new to here. I was complaining of servere pain and discomfort in my abdomen. The kind you get or cramps when you have your period. It was so bad on Sunday night, 2 days ago, when my fiance and I had s_x, I cried. I went to the walk in clinic and she did a urine test and it showed I was pregnant. She also did a blood test, but whatever test she took, she said it was not high enough for me to be pregnant??? She is having me call a OBGYN nurse in the am, because she thinks it might be a tubal pregnancy. What is this, and why does it happen, can I have a baby, will I lose my tubes? My fiance and I want children so much. Please help?

wendy/wenkat - August 16

Nicolle, a tubal pregnancy is when the fertilized egg implants in the fallopian tubes instead of the uterus(womb) where it should. These "tubal"pregnancies can be life threatening and are usually surgically removed to prevent complications. As for the the results of your test and the hormones not being high enough, that could just mean you recently became pregnant. However, follow up closely with your doctor or clinic. If you experience any pelvic pain espcially to one side or the other don't wait, get to the er and tell them about the + preg test. Otherwise, see your doctor regulaly for care. Please keep us posted. We care :)

All of these pregnancy stories are really starting to scare me. But I have other concerns. I just got the Mirena IUD a few weeks ago after the birth of my first daughter. I have been on my cycle for about 12 days now. It also feels like something is sticking me down there. Is this normal?

All of these pregnancy stories are really starting to scare me. I have another concern. I just had the Mirena IUD inserted about six weeks ago after the birth of my first child. I have been bleeding for the past 12 days and I can feel something sticking me down there. Is this normal? Is there anything I can do to relieve the sticking feeling?

Wendy/wenkat - August 16

Monique, I had prolonged bleeding when I had my iud inserted as well, for about 3 weeks! I did feel some discomfort, but not like I was getting stuck by anything. I would call your care provider and ask to be seen to make sure its still in place. There is a greater chance of the iud coming out immediatley after insertion so it is good to have it checked if you're feeling something unusual. Good Luck!
