I havent had a bad infections! just yeast infections! And it sucks!! I had gone to the doctor to get my Iud checked out and he said everything looked great!! I had been having irregular periods myself!! Actually I wasnt having any periods just spotting like every other day it seemed. My doctor prescribed me birth control and I took it for about a week and it made me have a period!! A real one at that! I thought everything was Ok! And the rest of the month I didnt have any spotting either. I was thinking thats all I needed was just a little kick of hormones! Since I had the copper iud with no hormones! Now I am like 4 days late. I dont think I am pregnant at all I just hating not knowing for sure. I have been debating for the last couple of months to decide to take this thing out or not. I dont want to because it soooo convienant. Oh well we will see how this month goes, hopefully I start and have a regular period! Hopefully everything will be ok with all of you, Best Of Luck!!

There is no way I want to put up with these symptoms for 5 years. Always feeling pregnant. Yuck...of course I'd rather these symptoms be hormone related than pregnancy related! I'm definitely having mine taken out. I wish I would've found this site before I had mine put in. The mirena IUD really sounded too good to be true. I guess it is! At least for me.

I agree about having it taken out. I made an appointment this morning for Wednesday to have mine removed. I have 2 kids a boy and a girl I am not ready to have another one.

I realized there is more than one Misty on here. I've posted twice, both in October. Anyway, my curiosity got the best of me and I took a pregnancy test. Nothing happened so I a__sumed it was negative. There was only one line. I took it in the bathroom and went into my computer room to email my boyfriend that we were in the clear and set the test next to me. My boys woke up so I left the test on the table and fed them breakfast, etc. A couple hours later I went back to the computer room to check my email and when I was done I picked up the test to throw away and there were (are) two lines. They are the same color. I've heard that the test line is always there (the second line) but it's a greyish almost invisible color. You can see it when you hold it at a certain angle in the light. Well, this isn't one of those lines...it's definitely there. You can see it from across the room. I've also been told you shouldn't interpret results after 10 minutes. But I have all my positive pregnancy tests from my boys. One is 9 years old and it's still positive. Holy cow!

I would defiently do another test, My friend did the same thing and then she thought she was pregnant, she was sad to find out later she wasnt! You are not supposed to read anything the test says after 10 minutes! There is a reason for that! I hope you are though whatever you want to be, I mean if you want to be pregnant then I hope the test is right! If not I hope it was a falso positive!! Good Luck!! Also call your doctor and let him know about the test, he might want to do a blood result!!

Guys, the funniest thing happened to me this morning... I woke up, all covered in blood. I'm on Mirena for a year now. I use to have a heavy flow, but after we've inserted Mirena, I had a 90% decrease. My period reduced from heavy flow to spotting.... It was regular spotting at first, and became irregular after a while... This morning, I woke up all bloody, as if I'm back to my old heavy flow. Anyone out there who had the same experience? Lately, I've experienced dissyness & a little nausea. But it pa__sed. I have a 5yr old boy, and dont want another....

Not pregnant! My IUD is coming out Friday. I can not wait!

Hi evrybody....I was desperate to obtain some information for my own peace of mind, since I, too, have a Mirena, but recently had some break through bleeding between periods (this follows two really weird periods in a row.) All pregnancy tests are negative, but I can't help but freak out at this last one. I don't have any kids yet. I made an appointment with my gyno for December, and am contemplating getting the IUD removed because I can't deal with the thought of spontaneous abortions. The IUD has been GREAT for my periods, was aslo told that I might not be able to have kids anyway, and I lost 50 lbs. I'm totally confused...

I am a wreck. I have been on the Mirena/IUD since April 05, and had my last period in June 05. well, the past few weeks i have been so tired, nausea, tender/fuller b___sts, lightheaded/dizzy and when it first started i had mild cramping. i took a hpt, negative.went to the dr last friday, got a call on neg on the blood hcg test and that the other tests were showing no infections, no inflammation. with my 1st pregnancy, my hcg didnt show up until i was about 21/2months preg. and im still feeling the same. has anyone had false negatives with the blood test and was pregnant? you can e-mail me at vivgab21@yahoo.com thanks a bunch.

I am so unhappy with my Mirena IUD. I too use to have a very heavy period but just for 4 or 5 days but now it is light for about 8 to 10 days and I also have irregular bleeding. I have gained weight since it was inserted too and it is all in my stomach. I also have had negative pregnancy tests. I want to have it removed.

Alicia - November 2

you know everyone is sooo unhappy with there IUDs because of all the other c___p that is going with it, like heavy periods, more cramping, or spotting threw periods. However, I was told of all the risks, and I was having some problems but it has gone away now. All I know is that its doing what it did say, it is keeping me from getting pregnant! Thats what is important to me! It seems like a lot of women on this site think they are pregnant, but they have taken a million pregnancy test and they are all negative! People can get pregnant with this yah, but people get pregnant with other birth control aswell! Out of all the people that are on this web site, and all the people in the world who have an IUD not to many people are getting pregnant! I know what its like to be scared and think you are pregnant, but chances are its just your brain thinking things. And everone with the mirena it lets off hormones like birth control pills or the depo, so your body can get confused with that aswell. All I know is people are posting saying that they dont want to get pregnant so they are going to be getting the IUD out, that doesnt make any sense. Any ways enough of my rambling. All I can say is the IUD is working for me, it may not work for the rest of you, just really consider everything before jumping to conclusions at how bad the IUD is! Afterall its a birth control and its kept you from getting pregnant so far!!

I had went to the doctor to have my IUD removed, she wouldn't do it. She said that missed periods are normal with a IUD and that the Mirena IUD was the best birth control there is. She told me that you are more likely to get pregnant on the pill or the patch than the IUD. China uses the IUD on the women there and they love it. She also told me that the women from there that come to the States do not want it removed, but it has to be removed every 5 years for the Mirena. She even told me to stay off the internet that if I wanted the real facts go to a Medical website and get the facts from there.

hi I have the copper iud, I have had it for 2 1/2. I had my last period october 28th. Some signs of pregnancy, but I am pretty worried. I have three wonderful boys and my husband is a student. Loved the iud because i thought the next time I would be in this situation was when I chose to. Still wondering if its all in my head. I am taking a pregnancy test in the morning at the clinic. My dr. said this is rare, guess i should direct here here!!

It has been a while since I have been on, but I wanted to report...I got my pain in the b___t Paraguard IUD out yesterday!!!! It may sound strange, but a few minutes later my stomach felt better. I did not realize that I had been going around for the past 2 1/2 years with constant dull pain! My period pretty much stopped yesterday as well. It was coming to an end, but would have normally hung around for another couple of days to bother me. I am so glad I decided to go ahead and take it out.

celena - November 18

Has anyone had problems with taking the iud out? I went to the dr today and she tried 2 times to pull it out... No luck. I am going back next week to see another gyn. I have had a leep before so my cervix is pretty scared up... it hurt like heck when it went in and had bad crampiing today when they were pulling... how bad did it hurt when it was pulled out for you?

Sarah - November 18

There was a slight pinch when it came out, but nothing more really. It was not so bad when it was inserted though either. Sarah
