Tina, I have no idea about the mirena they say they are better for shorter less crampier periods, good thing you are going to the doctor, if you get any good advice please let us know. After I got the copper one inserted I bled heavier and cramped alot more, now its been probably about 7 weeks too since my last period, I had very very very light spotting for only like an hour or soo. I hate this darn thing. Ive ready every post in here, which took forever, but I needed as much knowledge so I can figure what going on. The only thing im getting is that these IUDs are unpredictable. So please let us know how it goes and PLEASE if you get any good advice please post, maybe it can help one of us girls. Thanks, good luck!!!

Minera initially causes weight gain, among other symptons. After a while you should get back to normal. I have no periods and no problems and have mine for 3 1/2yrs. My question: is there a link with minera and depression?

Ok.. i went to the doctor today. she told me that some women will never get a period on the Mirena IUD. She can't explain the bloated or nausea . She checked me and said that the IUD is still in place. She also said that if you ever have any doubts about the IUD falling out of place or just feel that something isn't rigth then to go to your doctor: thats what they are there for!!.. she also said she does not think that I am pregnant but that it is a possibility so she took some blood and she will get in contact with me sometime in the next two days to let me know either way.. she said that if you get pregnant when on an IUD you NEED TO HAVE IT OUT RIGHT AWAY... good luck to everyone else that is having problems,, i hope everything goes ok!.. and MERRY CHRSITMAS!!

Hi everyone. I have been reading everyones posts and wonder if Im pregnant too. I've had my copper IUD for 4yrs and have always been regular. This time its a little different and heres why.... when its close to my period my v____al mucus is very little next to none, now its a lot and its runny, white, thick, and Im a 2wks late. Could this be a sign of pregnancy?

Hello all, I wrote once before, I have a copper IUD. I have not had regular periods, my last one was 2 weeks of spotting in November. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. I went to the doctor and she thinks I am not having enough progesterone in the second part of my cycle. I am writing because I too had some nausea and then later my son came down with a stomache flu. I just hope none of you with small children are forgetting the other parts of mother nature. But like you all I have gone from normal period to weird ones and it baffels me. I wonder often what the best course of action is--but I have no pain just odd cycles.

I have been reading all these post and well I think I might be with you. I had the merina put in 19 months ago did not have a "period" untill oct of 05 We just finshed nursing (the day time nursing stoped in oct) I have been trying to loose weight and i was doing great and now i have gained 15 lbs and 5 inches in my waist that is not gained back that is gained over what i was to begin with. my periods have been spotty since oct chalked that up to still nursing. i now have all the symptons of pregnancy as i did with my other 3 minus the sickness. i am not in a place to have number 4 at this time. That is why I opted for an IUD all 3 were BC babies the first two the pill and the 3rd the patch. My hubby is picking up a test on the way home today and i see my doc on tuesday. I teach a b___stfeeding cla__s to Teen moms and have suggested this to them, there are at least 20 of the teens in the program ( it is a program for teen parents) i am going to have to reverse my self on this and these girls will not have faith in me any more. there has got to be a place to find out how many complaints have been made and what they are going to do about it.

alicia-THE DOCTOR TOOK THE IUD OUT 2 DAYS AGO . SHE IS OK NOW ,FEELS HAPPY OTHERWISE.THE IUD IS ONLY 99.9% EFECTIVE, SHE UNDERSTANDS THAT NOW.OH AND SHE WILL NOT GO AGAINTS HIM IS NOT HIS FAULT, SHE THOUGH THAT HAVING AN IUD WAS 100% SAVE + I THOUGH SO TOO IN A WAY.

I wrote in about a month ago. I have had a mirena since last January. In the past 2-3 months I have had no period and EVERY pregnancy symptom there is. I have 2 children so I'm very aware of all pregnancy symptoms. Everyone I know thinks I'm crazy and that I'm not pregnant. After seeing/hearing all of your complaints I have made an appt. w/ my doctor. I will let you know the results. I have had nausea, bad headaches, frequent urination, heartburn, lower back pain , etc. Any advice or comments?????

Ep- The only thing I have to say is that I felt the exact same way, I have the copper one so and that has no hormones. But I was feeling every symptom and I was like almost 2 months late. I wasnt pregnant though. The only thing is to get blood tested. SO good luck. and hope it turns out for the best.

Alicia-thanks for the advice. I just cant explain all of these symtoms. It's strange to me that after a year I am just now experiencing these things. If this is just part of having an IUD, I will have mine taken out. I refuse to experience all these symtoms and not even get a baby out of it! My lower back has been hurting this week too. But I will definalty keep you posted!

Evette - January 10

I've had my IUD in since the summer. And I've just started to wonder if I myself might be pregnant. I've not had any problems with the IUD until recently. I was told by my doctor that this was the best choice for me since I already have 4 children. However, after reading all of these posts I am not so sure. When I got my period in December it wasn't a normal period. I spotted mostly. But just this past week me and my husband had s_x. The day after I was spotting a light pink with a white discharge, then I just stopped. The next day I started again. Saturday morning I awoke to a UTI called my doc and he called me in some antibiotics and that night I had severe abdominal cramping that brought me to my knees. My b___sts really aren't that sore or bigger than usual however I've had nausea. I'm not sure what I'm suppose to think at this moment. My brain is telling me no...but my gut is telling me another thing. Is what I'm experiencing normal with the IUD or could it be a pregnancy. I am still currently having light spotting. Nothing heavy. Words of wisdom from anyone is appreciated. Thank you
