Just got a vm from the PB nurse, so I was unable to ask her any questions. She said my hcg level was 4000.

Thats a really good sign.. If they start going down worry.. but its a good sign

Thought you would want to see this 3-4 weeks: 500-6,000

Thanks Holly. I have been trying to search for that online but my employer restricts those websites. I guess if I started to m/c yesterday, those levels will slow down or reverse? I just keep telling myself that it was some bleeding...

Boy, I last looked at this site a month ago when I posted. I can't believe all of the responses to this (what seems to be an epidemic) problem!!! How can the medical industry make these claims! If the 2004 theory is true, and by the way, I got pregnant on the pill my first 2 pregnancies which is why I switched my BC to IUD, then we're all due for a very serious wake-up call! I heard the same c___p from my healthcare provider about the IUD & got a scare this pa__sed Dec. How can we trust anyone in the medical field who doesn't research the stats (because the STATS ARE WRONG!!!!) We should unite & pet_tion or do something while we're waiting it out for 9 months.

You are so right dragon.. You know I was suprised when my dr. told me it was only 96% effective. It bout knocked me off the table because I was sure it was 99.9%.. I think we are the research

OH MY GOD!!! I am 38 years old, in the middle of divorce, with three kids, aged 10, 8 and 4. I had the Mirena put in 6 weeks ago believing it to be a godsend. I just took two home pregnancy tests last night and both came up faintly positive. I am very much in love with the person I am now with, but I am not ready now (or maybe ever) to have more children. I can't call the doctor's office till Monday, which means I will get to stew about it all weekend. It is my understanding that removal will probably cause a miscarriage -- but I am shocked by some of the posts saying that removal wasn't even possible. What did I just get myself into?

Holly - August 27

I feel for you .. The iud can cause a miscarriage if it is removed depending on where the iud is.. I had mine removed without knowing I was pregnant it has slipped out of place so they took it out then done a pregnancy test. She didnt think I was pregnant because I was bleeding but I was and had a miscarriage.

Hi, I just got told about this forum from a lady on another website. I am going to the gyno on monday. In the past few weeks I've had a ton of issues and I want my IUD out. Back in May my PCP discovered my strings missing and sent me for an ultrasound. all looked ok. My last period was late then lasted for 2 weeks. it stopped and then I started bleeding again. I've been bleeding light for a month. I also keep feeling a cramping pressure similar to how I felt in early preganancy. I also experince lower abdominal pain whenever my baby pushes aganst my belly when I hold her. Both the home ept and doc office tests came back negative. they didn't run an HCG on me. My PCP referred me to a gyno. the one thing that is shocking me is all the of the women that are getting pregnant off of mirena. My midwife had told me "it just doesn't happen" she told me I'd only get pregnant if it fell out. The one thing I am really scared of is getting the IUD out now that my strings are missing. thanks for listening

I have had my mirena for about three and a half years. At one point I to questioned weather I was pregnant.I would not wish that feeling on my enemy.I feel for all of you.But I did want to correct what somone had said.It is true that thr mirena has been in this country for about 5 years but it was used and loved in Europe for about 10 to 15 years before the united states.I don't think to many people here would agree with that but there is no law saying you have to.I may be worng but I think cooper IUDs have been in this country for decades.there is anther qustion on this site"pregnancy after tubal lingtion" the woman on that there are having the same problems.some of them were "fixed" saveral months to years ago and ending up pregnant or having pregnancy symptoms.none are using any form of hormonal BC.not saying the IUD is good for everybody but if they are having the same problems it may not be the BC we use.I wish everybody the best of luck

Angela - August 27

Holly, thanks I will. everything was fine at first with my IUD but the last few weeks have been rough. I know that this BC isn't for everyone. I'll post an update after my appt. If anyone can tell me what it was like to get an IUd removed with the strings MIA I'd appreciate it. I know sometimes they can be coaxed out. I'm just afraidf it's embedded or something and I'll need surgery to have it removed. I know that the woirst case scenario isn't the best thing to think about but I can't help being worried. We also have a family history of cysts and it's possible I have one. Above all I really hope I'm not preggers. I got my IUD in back in March.

Ethi I am 14 wks. and my paragaurd is up in the uterus with the baby. My last US was 6 wks. ago and it was on the right side. My doc. who admits he has never done this before tells me it can't move, but research has proved other wise. He says he going to treat this as normal pg since he doesn't know what else to do. I live in a tiny community 3hrs. from any specailist. Although i've consulted with one he was a jerk. I still cramp and spot at least once a week. I am a nursing student and my instructors have taken my physical activity down a few notches even if the Dr. wont. If there is any out there farther along I would love to hear from you.
