Hi i had the Mirena coil fitted 2mths ago and 2day i found out i was pregnant im 21 with 2kids already but the problem is im bleeding heavy for the last 2wks going Drs today, im reading up on the internet and im scared about what they saying u can miscarry or Etopic pregnancy. i want the baby. can any1 help me?

Most of these stories are about teh Mirena IUD....has anyone experienced any problems...or gotten pregnant with the copper IUD? Please let me know...i had my copper IUD insterted last week after my second baby ( i'm 26)

I'm terrified. We have three children. One of them is diabetic and one autistic. I wanted my wife to get her tubes tied but her ginecologist instead placed and IUD...she's pregnant (i'm thankful for that)....but I'm scared and p.o. because of the possiblity of missacriage. We have a lot going on...and gosh...I stay home with the kids and my wife has a good job. I'm very concerned...

I have been reading these posts, and I have taken two preg tests both are negative, but I am gaining weight, nauseated and threw up twice, b___sts are sore and tender, and I have had some clear discharge come out of my b___st. I have had the Minera IUD since December. I can't shake the feeling that I am pregnant. Anyone else had this situation?

I have a copper iud that I've had in for about a year now, my daughter is 14 months old.I took a home pregnancy test November 16, the day I was supposed to start my period.I just had a weird feeling i might be pregnant. Well it was positive (very faint second line). I called my doctor and they did a pregnancy test where they drew blood, yep positive also. I am just 4 wks pregnant, doctor took out my iud and I have to go into the office on Nov.21 to have hcg and progesterone levels drawn. He said it was too early too see anything on the ultrasound, so I just have to wait and see. I have had zero bleeding since the iud was removed today. I am just worried I will miscarry now.

I am 10 weeks pregnant with the cop.IUD in place.My doctor said, it would be dangerous to take it out.Since 5 days I'm bleeding,but not so much.The doctor said, everything is ok,I have to rest and go back to controll in a week.Now I am waiting and praying, what else can I do? I have 2 children and I didn't want more, but now I really want to keep this baby too!!

Well, this is the site I refered to during this long ordeal, and now that it's comming to a close, I would like to share my story too, I turned up pregnant a couple of weeks ago, my IUD had not moved, or fallen out, and was very snug in there. They did a hormone test that resulted at about 80, very low, the next time I went in the test showed around 80, it was supposed to double. They took the IUD out, and told me to watch. How confusing, and shocking is it finding out I was pregnant! I have two children of my own, and my boyfriend has one, I am a full time student with three more years left to go. How could I have a child? But how could I volentarily abort it? Well I spent the night in the emergency last night, as I was having pain in my right lower side, after many many tests they found my hormon level to be around 100, after four days, it was supposed to double every two days, they also found a sicst on my overy, they gave me a shot that is supposed to abort the pregnancy, the doctor said that I may need another dose for it to work, or may still end up needing surgery to remove my overy. HI EVERYONE AGAIN! I WANTED TO FILL EVERYONE IN ON THE LATEST. I AM NOW 18 WEEKS PREGNANT WITH THE MIRENA. MY LAST ULTRASOUND, A COUPLE WEEKS AGO, SHOWED THE BABY WAS JUST FINE BUT THE IUD LOOKS LIKE IT IS ATTACHED TO MY UTERUS WALL. THIS WILL MEAN THAT I WILL HAVE TO HAVE A D&C 6 WEEKS AFTER THE BABY IS BORN. I HAVE ANOTHER ULTRASOUND IN 2 WEEKS THAT SHOULD CONFIRM THIS HOPEFULLY. I WILL KEEP EVERYONE POSTED!

I have had a copper IUD for almost 3 years and I have not had a period since October 6... though I did have some spotting right before Halloween. This is the first time this has happened with the IUD, and I'm not sure that I'm even pregnant. I was pregnant once before, 10 years ago, and nothing seems the same (symptoms-wise). Any thoughts?

Hi i posted the wk saying i found out i was pregnant on the Mirena coil had a scan i was 10wks gun now im 11wks pregnant and the baby is fine. my pregnancy is going well and the drs have to leave the coil in as the string is no were to be seen i have another scan on monday as wen the dr examined me i had bad bleeding and cramps the midwife thinks she irrated my cervix bleeding has calmed down all cramps have gone, cant wait to see baby again hopefully all will be well Keep use posted

hi board.. Update.. i am now a day away from 24 weeks.. baby seems fine.. and IUD is not really visible anymore... they dont even know where it is at this point.. the only thing that is good is that we dont see it around the baby!!! Gemma... i know what you are going though.. it is aweful, and scary, and lonely!! i know! im sorry you have to go through this as well... but pray that everything goes well for you.. did they say where the IUD is?? and Amy B good for you ... 18 weeks already!! good! doenst it feel good every day that pa__ses by... ?? it does for me..i get more hopeful! good luck to all ...:)

Hi there ladies, Just a quick question about the Mirena and symptoms of pregnancy.I have had for nearly 2months symptoms of pregnancy and just wondered if any of you have been getting palpitaions?I went to my doctor who has adamantly told me i am not pregnant and that its hormones.She done urine and blood tests which were negative.I am steadily putting on weight since about a month ago and im sure i am but with her saying that its made me think that maybe im not and confused.I did have a bleed for 4days last month and also normally i have real bad PMT but nothing for nearly 2months.I had the Mirena fitted 2yrs ago and never once had any problems and now i left confused and worried cause every day that pa__ses is another day where my baby and my life is at risk.My doctor went away last week and told me to go see her when she gets back in 2wks.Can any of you tell me if the blood and urine can be Negative?and am i really pregnant?Confused :(

Mrs. Lori, my mother has worked in a hospital for years and has delivered many baby's. in her 35 yrs she has only delivered; herself, 4 babys with an IUD in place. all 4 came out holding the IUD "as if it was a baby rattle." i do know that no pregnancy is alike, in any way. but i know that both the women and babys in the cases with my mother are all just fine. they where taken care of like a high risk pregnancy and on bed rest most of the time. but all did just fine. good luck. ;-)

Hi Ethi Im so glad to hear from someone who has the iud in place and got so far in to pregnancy, Is this your 1st Child? this is my 3rd child and im only 21. Iv got alot of complications in pregnancys im already High risk without the IUD im a carrier of Strep B and my 2nd Son was premuture im so scared that this baby wil get strep B and come even earlier then my 2nd baby, the hospital is being gr8, is your hosp treating you good in your pregnancy? Also Amber thats amazing your mam has only come across 4births with the IUD in place. the problem is everyone keeps saying to me rest but it easier said then dun im a full-time mum to a 23mth old toddler & a nearrly 9mth old baby so no time for rest im afraid but thanks anyway, keep you posted x

hi Gemma... this will be my third child... i have a 4 year old and a 2 year old.. my hospital is being very nice.. i have had many sonos.. and my doc delivered both of my kids already, so i have faith in her.. she is the one who inserted the IUD to begin with.. then she herself got prego, and left the office, but unfortunally, her baby died at 1 month old, and she returned to work in a hospital far from me.. but i love her so much, and have so much faith in her... i tracked her down, and she is my doctor again.. are you a natural delivery, or c section? cause i find that i have a lot of pain i my uterus, like stabbing like sensation... and i told my doc, she told me that it may be all the scar tissue from my two prior sections.;. but moms that are preg with the iud have said that they had more abdominal pain.. well i wish you luck!! keep posted!
