hi Gemma... this will be my third child... i have a 4 year old and a 2 year old.. my hospital is being very nice.. i have had many sonos.. and my doc delivered both of my kids already, so i have faith in her.. she is the one who inserted the IUD to begin with.. then she herself got prego, and left the office, but unfortunally, her baby died at 1 month old, and she returned to work in a hospital far from me.. but i love her so much, and have so much faith in her... i tracked her down, and she is my doctor again.. are you a natural delivery, or c section? cause i find that i have a lot of pain i my uterus, like stabbing like sensation... and i told my doc, she told me that it may be all the scar tissue from my two prior sections.;. but moms that are preg with the iud have said that they had more abdominal pain.. well i wish you luck!! keep posted!

HI Ethi thats realy nice bout your dr helping you thru ur pregnancy. I gave Birth Naturally to my boys and i will do the same with this 1 unless the dr or midwife say i have to have a c-section but i would prefer to give birth its a amzing experience i love giving birth. I went hosp 2day neva got a scan but heard my baba heartbeat for the 1st time, im keep having bad bleeds then they stop for days and come bk even worse, the dr said il get this through out my pregnancy because the coil is moving with my uterus and irrating it what making me bleed, yes also get bad stabbing always in my left side like a bad cramp Heres my email addy if you want to chat more 1 to 1 gem3030@lycos.co.uk

May I make a seggestion?This post is so long why doesn't someone start a new one.I have a IUD.I have no problems with it but I like knowing there is someplace to go if I do.Where I'm not alone.

Im 12 weeks pregnant and my doctor refuses to take the IUD out. If you get pa__s the 12 week the doctor a__sured me that 95% deliever a heathly baby,athough the baby most likely would come early.Take day by day and take care of yourself.Dont stress!

Hi Ladies,just to say im in my 8th week of having pregnancy symptoms and its been the longest 8wks ever.I am struggling to get through a day at the moment due to not knowing what an earth is going on inside of me.I have been putting on weight gradually,all the typical pregnancy symptoms but no matter what i say to the doctor she doesnt believe me.She has done urine,blood and all negative.I am so mad as she thinks-right you have the IUD in you CANT get pregnant, but obviously you can.I have wrote an email to product safety with regards to my case with the Mirena and they are going to contact my doctor for medical records and going to try and sort something out,so hopefully something will get done.My current situations sounds like so many of yours but its the not knowing that is driving me crazy.My doctor is due back from her Holiday next week so hopefully i will get a scan.I will get to the bottom of this not just for me but for all you other women too.Please take care and good luck with your pregnancys :)

Mandi....I am having the same symptoms as you! For 7 weeks now I've been having pregnancy symptoms, but 2 hpt came back negative. I haven't gone to the dr yet. Please let me know what happens with you. Any input would be great!

I have the Paraguard IUD, and just had a positive home pregnancy test this morning! I've had the IUD since late June. When I was doing the research, it seemed that this was the way to go! My son was born in late April, and I wanted to make sure to not have any more (high-risk pregnancy). I just wish that the doctor would have told me that maybe losing weight or stopping b___st feeding could cause this to malfunction....I weigh 120 now, and was 152 at delivery. I don't know if the weight loss had anything to do with the malfunction, but I'm going to the doctor in about an hour to find out my options....wish me luck. My prayers are with all of you ladies.

Misty........Hi there :)Just wondered if you had been getting Palpitations at all.Cause since ive had symptoms i have!!Also have you had any bleeding and swelling of the lower stomach and it looks like the pregnancy bump.lolI dont know about you but i keep denying that im pregnant and i feel like im losing out of the enjoyment of being pregnant.especially as it could just be the Mirena doing it then id feel stupid.Pls keep me informed too if you wanna email me pls do at Pandipants@aol.com ok and pls take care k :)xx

Mandi, I too have been having symptoms of pregnancy for about 7 weeks now and my doctor has taken blood and urine tests both negative. I have the Mirena IUD and am tired of feeling pregnant if I'm not. The emotional aspect of it is tiresome. They have found that my Prolactin level is pretty high, but want me to wait a month and see if I start to feel better. Easy to say when it's not their body! Good luck to you!

Mandi..thanks for responding. No, I haven't had any palpatation, but I do feel a fullness is my lower stomach. I haven't had any bleeding either. My b___bs are extremely sore and I'm almost 4 weeks late! I want to go to the dr, but I don't want to look like a fool. Afterall, I do have the wonderful IUD(yeh, right) and I've had 2 neg. hpt. I think I'm going to wait it out and see what happens. But I really wish I knew what was going on. I feel exactly the same way as when I was pregnant with my 2 kids. When are you going to the dr?

Misty...Hiya hope you are ok.Well dont know whats happening at moment to me,got up this morning bleeding,bright red just like a period.Still have preg symptoms so maybe it could be the Mirena!!!I dont see doctor till end nxt week beg of week after but thats long enough.Ive decided to have the thing out,cant take much more and as soon as possible gonna try and get a scan done first just to make sure.I havent felt my strings for few month but doctor said she thought she did!!!I hope all goes well with you though. Tracey....Also keep me informed of what happening to you too this is getting really interesting but its tiring too as you probably both know.I hope you get sorted but making you wait another month,what are they thinking!! To all of you ladies who think you may look foolish in the eyes of your healthcare provider, don't let that deter you from getting quality health care! It's your right to get an opinion---that's what doctors/midwives are there for! This may be another life growing inside of you. Are you going to let your pride get in the way of knowing about another potential life, not to mention a very important health concern for you? Even if you're wrong & it isn't a pregnancy, it could be a sign a some other health issue you need to address. So, go for it & don't be embarra__sed to get an opinion. The sooner you know, the better you can make plans no matter what the outcome.

I have never heard of this but I wish you the best of luck with whatever decision you make. I myself might miscarry and I empathize for you greatly

I WOULD LIKE TO ENCOURAGE YOU ALL WHO ARE PREGNANT WITH THE IUD, IF YOU HAVEN'T DONE SO ALREADY, TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER (PARAGARD/MIRENA) AND LET THEM KNOW. PARAGARD SENT ME A CONSENT FORM SO MY DOCTOR COULD FILL OUT PAPERS FOR THEIR RECORDS. APPARENTLY IUD PREGNANCYS ARE SO UNCOMMON THAT THEY HAVE FEW STUDIES TO LOOK INTO. THE MORE STUDIES THEY HAVE, THE MORE LIKELY THEY ARE TO GET DOWN TO THE BOTTOM OF THIS. MY DOCTOR SAID THE PAPERWORK SHE GOT FROM THEM WAS PRETTY THICK.

Hi i didnt fall pregnant with the Mirena coil in i was already pregnant and the dr fitted the IUD in place i didnt av a period for 2mths then ad sudden bleeds i had all the pregnancy syptoms and putting on weight did a preg test came up pos ad a scan showed i was 10+1 pregnant now im 12+1 and til av bleeds but baby is fine iv brought myself a doppler to make sure the baby is ok and it not a sign of misccariage, im thinking about getting my doctors surgery done as iv read on the internet there are ment to fit the IUD wen your on your period not wen your period was 20days ago. My docotr insited i got it done as i already av 2kids only 14hlf mths between them now im goin 2av 3under the age of 2hlf, i also suffer from Strep B and my last son was premuture. Also heard IUD can caus very early labour. can any1 advice

I had a paraguard for 5 years, no problems, 1 month after taking it out, was preggers w/ twins. Doc is pushing for a tubal, but I had saw a brochure for the mirena, thank you all for the post, i'm saying no to the mirena.
