well, my luck, i will be. i have gone thru a divorce and am dating a man who has "fertility" problems. he is okay with having no natural children. i am sure because of timing in life, it will happen. but then again, because i would possibly be excited by it, i will not be prego. man....i sound crazy

i had no idea sooo many people were getting preggo on the IUD. i am so scared right now. i can't find the strings(i have the mirena) i am spotting brown since yesterday, and i just have this feeling i am preggo. i have a 14 month old son, and was going to wait before trying for another. i had the mirena put in early may of last year. my batch # is 5221609/2. scary because i believe this is the same number that some of you have as well. i guess i will have to wait to test. i am so lost right now. i don't know what to do. i just want to cry. i havent had a period since august 05 so this makes me very concerned.

Hey girls...Still feelin VERY pregnant..Even through up when I was working Sat. night..Boobs are awfully tender and my areloa's are getting dark circles around the edge...Am going to schedule a bloodtest ...was going to today but office is closed because of PRESIDENTS DAY!! Wish me luck!

Heather good luck hon..i know what you mean by dark areolas..that is one thing that ALWAYS gives it away to me that i am prego..so i wish you the best.. keep us updated..

Me again...So feeling even worse..I swear I am permanently bloated. Not too much 'b___b tenderness' today, but here and there. The bloating is what's worrying me. I know a lot of you want the babies that you carry, but girls, please believe me when I tell you that it would NOT be a good thing for me. But something is screaming at me that I am, and it's hard to ignore. I called my dr's office today and my dr was out of the office, so I am requesting blood work tomorrow. Hopefully they can send me over on my lunch hour from work...Again, pray for me...

I never found an answer to a question Heather asked. "Did any of you have negative pregnancy tests?" I would like to know the answer to this also. Thanks!!

I took two tests, one at night and one in the morning. Both were negative but I'm still suspicious. Will make an appt in a week or so to check again.

My husband and I have discussed the patch, since I was previously on but decided not to go back to it since I gained a lot of weight from my last pregnancy. I still am having all the same symptons and still don't feel 100% sure that I'm not pregnant. I've had three children and know the symptons well. I am curious as well to the whole "does the iud give false negatives" question.

Hi Kamala i had the Mirena coil fitted in sept 05 and i didnt have a period for 2mths i started to pile on the weight but had NO pregnancy symptons and i already had 2children, anyway in November i had very bad bleeds with clots and all and i decided to do a pregnancy test because my weight was piling on so much i was a size 10 and then i was size 12/14 and still on a diet on did a HP test and it came up BFP i was very shocked i went to my drs who got me in to a scan were they said i was 10+1 pregnant they couldnt remove the coil and i was told i would miscarry but my little Girl is til ere now she a real little fighter im 24wks pregnant til have a few probs but this little Girl wants life. Id say you could b pregnant but your body aint showing anough pregnancy hormones to show on a HP test i would advise you to have a Blood test done as they are 100% accurate, if the test is Postive i would erge you to have a scan and try to let the doctors remove your IUD there is a chance of a miscarrage but if they could removed my IUD i would of let them but it too high up (i have bad compilcations in tghi pregnancy) if your NOT pregnant i would urge you to have the IUD remove. Hi Ladies, I wrote once - back in the fall when I started feeling like I was pregnant. I wasn't. Since then I've checked in here every once in a while, but one think I can say - I still get VERY REAL FEELING symptoms now and then. I've had my Mirena for 1 1/2 yrs, bled for 3 months - then the only period i've had was in the fall - right before I felt pregnant. There has got to be something in this that tricks the body into feeling symptoms. My Nurse midwife said not that she new of - but I'm still feeling it and it lasts for a few weeks. I've stopped testing (my husband thinks i'm nuts) but it's not comforting to think your pregnant every couple of months! (and having to keep it to yourself) To all of those who are pregnant, thank you for writing so those who are, know what to expect, and those who might be don't feel so alone.

I am wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone........I have had the Mirena iud since Sept 04. I have ALWAYS bled lightly for at least 2 days. This month, I have had nothing. The last couple of months I have been playing the guessing game. I took a test, negative. I feel silly and foolish. Now, I think my string is shorter. I have noticed all the pregnancy signs and the side effects of this iud are the same. What is going on? I know I should schedule an appointment. I will. I just feel absolutely crazy.

Wow! What a relief and a bit of a fright it was to find this forum!! I've have a Nova-T type IUD for over two years without complaint. In fact I raved about it every chance I got! That was until yesterday when I found out I was pregnant. I was two weeks late and showing many symptoms of being pregnant before I really started to suspect...after all, how could I get pregnant with an IUD?? Urine test came back positive last night and today I am off for an ultrasound to determine where the fetus is implanted and what position my IUD is in. I leave for Mexico on holiday Sunday and I am terrified that if I do have an ectopic pregnancy something will happen on the trip.

Does anyone have a Paragard Copper IUD? I do and have a 6 month old daughter and i am feeling exactly the way i did when i was preggo with her. I had a period about Jan 7 and haven't had any bleeding since. I took an hpt a week ago but it was negative. I still feel weird tho. I am definitely gonna get this checked out. So does anyone have a ParaGard?

Hello everyone. I just stumbled onto this websight after searching for some sort of answers to my question on whether you could get pg with and IUD. WOW!!! Totally shocked. But the reason I was looking is because I have irregular periods, but regular for me. I'm not officially late, but I always know about 4 days in advance due to spotting, which have been told is normal. Well, no spotting. Then 3 days ago, I started getting so tired where I just wanted to pa__s out. 2 days ago, really tender b___sts as I go up and down the stairs. All symptoms I had with my 2 other pg's. This morning I took hpt and it was negative. I think I tested to early. I have the copper IUD. I guess I will just see what happens in the next couple of days.

So some interesting news...My dr finally called me back last night, and we were chatting about what was going on with me. He wants me to come in and take one of their tests and get an exam, and if he can't find any inclination I'm pregnant, we're gonna do bloodwork on my hormones. But the interesting part was I asked if he had ever seen anyone get pregnant with an IUD, and he said, TO QUOTE, "Oh yeah...More people than you'd think" $*(&%($*&% EXCUSE ME?!?!?! What happened to 99.9% accurate??? Anyway, my appt is Wednesday, so we'll wait til then. For now, I'm having pretty bad b___st tenderness still, tender abdomen, and diahrea...Wonder what' s up with THAT? Anyway, let's keep each other posted. :)

I have some of the same problems as you ladies. My Mirena IUD was shoved up too far and I can not find the strings. Nor can my doctor. Well that was over 2 1/2 weeks ago. I have been feeling sick and almost like im pregnant. I took a hpt and it came up negative, but I havent had my period since December 12 2005. I have no idea whats going on. I am scheduled for a D&C on March 8th to remove it. I am just afraid that I am preggo. What you all think?
