just a quick update for those of you who know my story.. i had the baby.. on March 2, he is doing great.. i was 37 weeks..and the IUD was not found when i had the section.. i will have to go back for an MRI to rule out he IUD has not move somewhere else in my body.. my journal adress is this if you girls are interested in readinbg bout my IUD pregnancy, and outmcome! good luck to you all.. and God Bless http://journals.aol.com/themags2000/mylittleunexpectedmiracle/

Hi. Im so glad I found this forum. I got the Mirena IUD last Feb. and after about 3 months my cramps and my periods went away. Now for the last two weeks I have been having cramps off and on all through out the day. Sometimes they are so bad I just want to lay down and cry. I took a hpt yesterday and it was negative. I have an apointment next week and I'm scared to death. I have two children already and my boyfriend also has two children. They all four live with us so you can imaginge how we are feeling right now. I keep telling my boyfriend not to worry that the cramps are nothing but now after reading everyones stories I'm not so sure. If anyone else had these symptoms and is pregnant for sure could you let me know! Thanks :)

Sarah H i think your wrong to come on this site and say what you have. Cause all the girls on here NO that any form of contreption is not 100% we are all in th same postion on this site. We were told exactly what you were told but when you have any coil in you dont think that YOURSElf will b the 1 out of 1000 to fall pregnant on this method, & i dont know were you got people sueing the coil companys NO1 has said they were, we have the RIGHT as human beings to write to the manfuters and tell them that it more then 1-1000 women falling pregnant on this method. and by the way if your having s_x and you have the coil Y aint you still using condoms if your so concerned about the hole pregnancy bit. This is a support board for people who are pregnant on any coil or who think they are pregnant, your not even in are postion to talk, being pregnant with any coil is dangerous not only for yourself but for your unborn child, as a lot of girls have LOST there unborn babys on here and some of us have been fortunite to carry on in the pregnancy with a coil till fitted. Also this site to help other girls in are postions who might be or not be pregnant. I think your very cruel hearted to come on this board and say what you did like how u did, a lot of girls have lost wanted babies because of the coils. Also this board is mostly about getting the doctors to find out more about coil pregnancys as because they NO nothing about coil pregnancys even thou there are millions of people around the world pregnant on it. Im 26wks pregnant with the Mirena coil fitted i hope 2god you never have to go what im going throu i wouldnt wish it on a mother or unborn baby. By the it NOT gr8 method of contrecption it should b banned for the fact is women are falling pregnant and most of them lose there babies that Y it should be took of the market

Hi Gemma, thanks for responding. My ultrasound showed that baby and UID are side by side in utero so any invasive procedure to locate the strings and remove IUD will also cause an instant abortion. Also of concern is that I have had some constant spoting (I guess is the best way to describe it...but not red blood, just dark brown) for a week now but I guess several women have mentioned now that they bled with their IUD pregnancies. The doctor said I have a 60% chance of miscarriage right now. I have another ultrasound Monday to check for a heartbeat, guess we have to wait and see.

I have had the Paraguard IUD since January of 2002, I have never had children. I had been on several birth control pills, and depoprovera(the shot every 3 months) But the pill made me gain tons of weight, have morning sickness and depo gave me horrible mood swings. My mom had b___st cancer and so my doctor agreed to place an IUD. They are actually doing that more and more these days, as long as the cervix is open enough to insert it, but the risks of expulsion in the first 6 months is high! I have had horrible cramping, backaches longer periods and more bleeding than when I didn't have the IUD, but putting it in was so painful that I didn't want to take it out!! Well I am a week away or more from getting my period, but I feel funny, I am exhausted, queasy, and cramping with no spotting, no nothing. I don't normally have cramping around this time of the month in the middle of the month yes, and I have already had that cramping. My boyfriend visited me in the middle of the month. I am worried I may be pregnant, I have been really emotional also!! I am 22, Does anyone think I am overreacting or its too soon to be worried, I feel like I am about to start my period, but its too soon? Any thoughts??

Hi, Ethi CONGRATULATION AND PRAIS THE LORD for this wonderful Gift!!! It's really strengh because I was thinking on you yesterday, and had the feeling that you already have your baby! :-) I'm now in the 26th wks and everything is just fine! I try to relax and not to worry what I really recommend for everybody here on Bord. We all are in the hands of the Lord and when we belive Him he will help us! God bless all!

Gemma, I am sorry you feel that way. I came on this board for the same reason as everyone else, (pregnant with IUD? not a lot of info out there on what to expect) and am stating a difference of opinion as to what I think of the IUD despite the possibility or actuality of a pregnancy...actually I'm kinda freaking out right now. I would have expected my period at the latest yesterday (Sat March 11-Day 28 of my cycle, normally my cycles are 23-27 days), and I did have some light spotting yesterday but it has stopped...which is completely strange for me. I thought it was my period. But, normally my period is very heavy, red bleeding for 6-7 days! Not 12 hours of brown/slight red bleeding that stops..I've never had a period stop or be so short and I've never spotted...hmmmm. Two negative hpt too.

Hi. I have read most of the answers and a few relate to my problem, ovarian cyst. But I have only seen them on Mirena. I have a Paraguard but I have a cyst on each ovary. The doc told me that she did not THINK that the IUD could cause cyst. Does anyone else with a Paraguard or Mirena have cyst. I am scared because I do want more children eventually and if I can find out if the IUD is causing the cyst I will have it removed ASAP. Even if its not causing them I probably will have it taken out after what I have read. I hate that our bodies and babies have to suffer because we try to prevent pregnancy. Good luck to everyone. WOW! This is not really what I wanted to find! O gosh, my sypmtoms are my b___st are and have been sore for 2 1/2 weeks, spotting small clotty like blood for 2 weeks I have had my IUD for 4 years whats it sound like to ya'll. Im a bit concerned now that I read all these IUD pregnancy.
