Hello! Well i seem to be in the same situation as most of u. Alittle background, im a mother of 4, 29 yrs old. I had the paraguard copper T inserted in Feb 2003. Never had any problems with it, cycles have been every 28-29 days, never missed a period. Well now my period is 7 days late, i was having period symptoms(cramping, bloating, slight headache, pimples) but still no period. But some of these symptoms are pregnancy signs. Ive NEVER missed a period unless i was preggo. I took a test yesterday and it was negative, my last period was April 15th. I had a pinkish discharge yesterday but it was only for a second then stopped, now today its a light tan color and its very light. Im still crampy, but less bloated, tender b___st. I dont know what to do, any advice is appreciated!!!

Im also very tired. Im thinking maybe its stress(been under alot of stress lately) And gained about 3lbs.

Southenlocs, I think we are having the same problem. I too have 4 kids. My period came on April 12, and my period is late. I have the Paraguard and mI have never missed my period. I took 2 preg test, however, neg. I am going to the doctor. I have never being late EVER. I now you know how it feel to be preg as well as I do. Good luck and God bless.

hi ladies well i went and got my mirena takeout to many problems with it though she said my uterus pulled the iud up more thats is why i counld'nt feel the strings but she never charge me for the visit but now that its out i feel so much better the women who are late you might just not being getting your period anymore but still get a blood test done rather be safe then sorry right

Hi, my name is Lisa and Ive had the Mirena IUD since November 2005. I have two daughters. Lily is 4 years old and Angelina is 8 months old. My IUD is still in place and yet i had a positive HPT about 3 weeks ago. I went in for a blood test the next day. They never told me the exact number but did say it was negative. A day or so after that i got my period which was very heavy and i had a lot of clots. Clots are not normal for me because i have a blood condition where my blood does not clot properly. So, i believe i had a very early miscarriage. I can not believe how many women are getting pregnant on it since Mirena claims to be 99.9% effective!

hello everybody! I have a couple of questions that I would really appreciate if someone would help me with. I have had the mirena IUD since October of last year. Over the past little while I have been feeling weird. My periods stopped in January so judging by a missed period is a mute point. Last week I had spot bleeding for like two days and now I feel nausious and my b___sts are tender. I feel tired all the time and I don't know what to do. I had a negative hpt . Should I make an appt. to see the doctor. I am really scared and don't want to but I'm sure that I should. Does this sound like pregnancy to anybody? PLEASE HELP!!!

ashli, i jsut had my iud removed well i never had a period with it in the first place but my midwifes did say after 5-6 months you should have no periods or very lighter ones, so maybe thats whats happening with you and i felt prgnant too that was because there was somehting in my uterus and my body wasn't pmsing so it just tought i was pregnant which they asid was a flase pregnancy so there is many things i had mine in for 4 months before i took it out i was in pain everyday my body didn't want it and my uterus was pulling i tup so thats why one day i could feel my strings then the next i couldn't so here is my advice call .and talk to your doctor or get a blood pregnancy test or an ultrasound thats what they did too me ,to make sure of etopics were visib'e so well hope all goes well bye

i've been using iud (non-hormone) for more than three years. i'm usually quite regular, but am now a bit late. at a routine checkup by my gyn yesterday i was surprised to learn that iud's are only 96-97% effective. she didn't find anything during the exam and u/s, but it that doesn't mean much at this stage. i'm 36 with 4 great kids (ages 11,9,7, and 4) and happy to be past the baby-raising stage. it's past 3 in the morning and i haven't slept a wink, and i'm waiting til morning to do an hpt. but having read about so many woment here who had false-neg results, i'm wondering if i'll be any wiser even after the test in the morning. for those of you who tested fasle-negative when taking preganancy tests, how long did it take before you eventually tested positive? i could sure use the info. i wish the best for all of you.

advice for anyone out there with an iud who thinks she may be pregnant, even if urine/blood test came back neg- GET an U/S done !!! iud's rasie risk of ectopic pregnancy, which is life threatening if undiagnose and untreated. if anyone has any info on my q (how long until false neg's turned inot positive tests when actually pregnant w/iud?) i would really appreciate it.

hello evryone, the morning hpt came back negative, but i still don't have my period, or any sign of getting it soon. ADVICE PLEASE from anyone to whom this has happened????

Hi, I had the mirena iud fitted on 24th January this year, I found out 5 weeks ago that I am 19 weeks+ pregnant, I must have been 6 weeks pregnant when iud was fitted. I am now 24 weeks and everything so far seems fine. The mirena is still there, embeded in the uterus above the baby, close the the edge of the gestational sac and away from the placenta. We obviously didn't plan this baby but now we are delighted and just hope that everything is going to be alright. Does anyone have a similar story/experience, I would appreciate any advice please. souternlocs and confusedangel, my name is Batya. sounds like you've been where I am. what's happening now - did you eventually find out you were not/preg? i did a search for the specific model of copper-iud that i have (non-hormone) and found an inof sheet for professionals that lists the pregnancy rate for this iud as 1.26 per 100 women per year - that's more than ten times the amount i thought when i had it inserted (when i thought it was 99.9% effective)!! that means that in a 5 yrs of using an iud the personal risk of pregnancy is about 1 in 16 !!! (maybe less if the risk decreases after the first year of use, but no stats availabe for post first year iud pregnancies). if i'd known that, together with the high risk of miscarriage once preg w/iud (60% without removal, 20% with removal) i'd have thought twice before putting myself at such risk, despite the fact that i enjoyed not having hormone-induced side effects. Meanwhile, still no period, and no obvious signs of pregnancy (which was also trues with my four kids'pregnancies - in fact when i tried to get preg te firt time, it took so long i went to the doc who said she'd start tests as soon as i got my next period - and what do you know the period naver came, went back to the doc without other symptoms and did a preg test which was pos (12 yrs ago). am still wondering if this miht be pregnancy number 5.....? as much as i wasn't planning (obviously) another pregnancy, i'm scared of having a high-risk one. how long before i can be sure that the neg hpt is true and not a false???

Hey guys my name is Ashley. I have had my mirena in for 3 months and for the past 2 1/2 weeks have been waking up nauseas. Im peeing more and Iam so tired. Now I am 8 days late. Ive been married for 2 1/2 years, have 2 babies and am 21. Wow, and I feel so pregnant. Anyone in the same boat now? Is it normal to be late, I'm always 28 days, on time. Thanks.

Jcoconnor, I hope everthing is ok with your baby. I know I am scared to death and I dont evn know if I'M PREGNANT. I have a 21 month old, and a 7 month old. AHHHH! With my first I took a hpt and it took 6 weeks to get a positive. With my 2nd Ihad a blood test at 3 weeks it was neg. but I knew I was pregnant. Went back 1 week later and it was positve. If I am pregnant Im only 3 weeks. 1 week to wait if I dont start then I'm going for a blood test

hi Ashley, just reread your posting (after seeing the others). i guess in spite of th neg blood test, i should repeat it if i don't get my period soon (within 2-3?). ashley, if you start to have stomach pain - don't wait - get checked immediately for ectopic pregnancy. otherwise all we can do is wait for the next test or the next period, whichever comes first.
