First of all, the IUD has the lowest failure rate; however, no birth control method is 100%. Secondly, the job of the IUD is not to keep you from getting pregnant, it's there to keep you from staying pregnant. I'd say it's safe to say that from what many of the newest posts discuss, that it's highly possible that you were/are pregnant. Given the nature of the IUD, it's not likely the pregnancy will carry through, though. Rght now, I've had mine in for 11 months, and have had times when I thought I may have been, and I always realized I wasn't, or at least, not for long. As it is now, I am late getting my period, I am slightly crampy, but not period crampy, my b___sts are tender, I have heartburn, and I am very tired all the time. I felt this was my first pregnancy. I also feel this way, from time to time, before I get my period. It should also be said there are are multiple causes to many of those symptoms. Heartburn can be caused by excess belly weight, a pre-existing condition, or stress. Bloating can be too much soduim, not enough water, PMS, over eating. Fatigue could be brought on by stress, depression, illness. Breast tenderness could be caused by polycystic b___st, or too much caffiene intake. Cramping, well, not sur eabout that. I can feel my body ovulating from time to time, and it feels like a menstual cramp, but slightly higher. Other times, it could just be due to the IUD itself, and well and and spotting between periods. The feelings are very similar at times, and think it take a discerning mind to know the difference. If you truely think you are pregnant, I wouldn't keep taking store bought tests. I'd go to the doctor, and get the blood work done. And explain your situation with the IUD. Maybe, over the course of a few days, with a positive result, they send you back for bloodwork, to see if the HGC levels are rising, or dropping.
Best of luck to everyone. I hope to those who are pregnant, that it works out who you so desire, and for those aren't, just remember, it really could be anything!
