So should I ask my Dr. to put me on progesterone if I do get pregnant again? You don't think I could still be pregnant do you? I took a pregancy test and it showed I was, but I read online that the HCG can stay in your system up to 4 weeks after miscarriage. I am just so upset that I didn't take the time to read the signs and take it easy. We had just got back from camping and I was jumping into the river and acting like I was 16 again! I feel like I did something wrong. I just know now that we can get pregnant and hopefully next time will be different.

Jenn, I am sooo sorry!! But, once your HCG goes down like that, unfortunetly its already lost! Be glad that you didn't go thru weeks and weeks of being pregnant and seeing the baby and hearing the heartbeat just to go in one day and find out the heart had stopped..... My first pregnancy, I didn't know that I was pregnant either, but I lost that due to ectopic. ANyhow.. here is some good news... I got pregnant again within the week that my HCG got all the way down to 0.. Which for you, maybe about 3 more weeks... but, if you want a baby, I'd say that you should start having s_x again in about a week.... ALSO, don't waste your time, money or emotions on a home pregnancy test right now... Its only going to cause heartache, because its just the hormones left from the m/c.... but, like I said... the good news is that you are going to be WAY fertile again here soon.. Best of luck!! I would ask the dr. to please test your HCG until they are 5 or below.. Just so you know that its out of your body and so that it can ease your mind. Plus, once it hits 0... that week, you are going to ovulate again.. Best of luck!!

That is what everyone is telling me that once it goes back to 0 to try again that I will be fertile. It is so nice to read everyone's posts. Sometimes you feel you have no one to talk to and then you find this and you are so much at east knowing you are not the only one. I wish everyone in here a happy healthy pregnancy and it is nice we all can stick together. Thanks Danielle.

Jenn, keep me posted!! PS... as soon as you find out your pregnant again... it wouldnt' hurt to go to the dr. and ask them for progesterone supplements like, "Crinone" or something.. It can't hurt a pregnancy, but it may save one... Especially if your like me and couldnt' conceive and then lost it... They say you can go years without luck if you have a progesterone problem, because if its low, then the uterus lining isn't think enough for the implantation to stick... It would usually end up about 3 to 4 weeks pregnant. Most woman don't know they're pregnant and think that its just a heavier or late period... Anyhow... the progesterone supplements help thinkin the lining of the uterus for implantation and make it strong for the baby.... I sure hope to hear some good news from you in the future! :) Good luck!!! PS.. are your periods normal? do you test ovulation? and have you had any test done with your dr. for fertility problems? Hi Ladies I am in a very similar situation as you all. I tested this weekend on Sat morning and it was ++++ I was so excited...then Sunday afternoon I started a little spotting(brown) then in the evening it was pink and now it's like like I am having my regular period with cramps. I went to see the OB yserterday. I am in a waiting period right now until Thurs to find out if this pregnancy is going to full term or not. My OB basically told me that it may be normal to bleed throughout the pregnancy for some women and maybe during the beginning for some. She had me take a blood test today to test for the HCG level and again on Wed. I will have my results on Thurs to find out if the HCG level doubles or is increasing then that means that baby is still growing and that I am very pregnant.....on the other hand if the level is not increasing then that will probably mean that I am having a miscarriage. So now I just have to wait till Thurs before I know what is going on... From her calculations I will be 5 weeks and two days today. I couldn't wait till Thurs to call and so I called today to find out exactly what the results was from my test and the nurse gave me a number 6...which seems much much lower than what you all have. Can't really tell anything right now until there is a comparison but nurse said that it does show that I am pregnant. I am still bleeding and I fear for the worst......

Sorry about the double post...something was weird with my page and had to go back and redo, guess it went through ok the first time.

To Kim- - September 13

Kim_ your technically not "pregnant" until your level is 25... Home pregnancy test, test a a minimum of 25... I think there is one kind on the market that test real low at 20... but, only 5% of people will test at that early. If you were to take a pregnancy test today, it would be negative. So, if you had a positive (meaning it was at least 25) and now its negative, that means it went down, not up... I am soooo sorry to hear that!! Please keep posted and don't lose faith!!

Kimberly - September 13

I have no idea what the number meant when I called for my results....the nurse was the one that told me my blood test for beta HCG came out with a number 6. I'm not even sure if that's a level or just some numbering system representing something else. All I wanted to know what did it mean that i am pregnant and she said yes which match my hpt at home for a positive on sat. I guess I have to wait for Wed to retest and let my OB nurse compare it and let me know what is going on......thanks for the support!

Daniella - September 13

Hey Kim... Just take a HPT (home pregnancy test) today... A 6 will be negative. It might have been positive the other day, but it wont be now.. The nurse technically has to say your pregnant when its above 5. But, honestly 6 is pretty much no longer pregnant. No home test would detect that, so it must have gone down. :( Oh, and 6 is a number... not some kind of system.. (unfortunetly)

DJ - September 13

Kim my understanding that anything above a 5 is considered pregnant not 25 but for 5 weeks that is very low... let me share my story. I am currently 6 weeks pregant but my HCG level was 30 and then went to 64 16 DPO and at 22 DPO it's only 124... the numbers are increasing but not doubling and are on the low side. I'll be exactly 6 weeks tomorrow. Anyway, I was put on Progesterone supplements (Prometirum) from the begining but because of the low HCG I went in for an U/S and they couldn't see a thing not even a sac... my doctor believes that the progesterone is holding on to the pregnancy and if I stop taking them it will come down on it's own and I'll start to bleed. Although I was put on progesterone I don't have a low progesterone problem at 8 DPO my progesterone level was 125. I'm being monitored because after my first (natural pregnancy) it's been 7 months of trying with nothing. I'm 32. Good luck Kim - all the best keep us posted... I'm going to have a c___ppy weekend knowing that I'm going to start bleeding any moment

To DJ - September 13

Thanks for sharing your story.....*sign* I was hoping that I'm a special case but I guess it's not meant to be. I will take my blood test on Wed just to confirm and have the OB explain to me what it all means. How long after a miscarriage can I start to ttc again?

Daniella - September 14

DJ- yup... anything above 5 is considered pregnant... but, a home test shows at 25.. So, if she was at 25 and it went down to 6 with bleeding that fast, unfortunetly not much you can do. BUT like you, I was put on progesterone also on my last pregnancy, but we caught the low levels too late and unfortunetly it ended up with a loss. BUT, I got pregnant 5 weeks after the loss (the week my HCG went down to 0) and am now pregnant and I was put on progesterone again right away, and it was in time this time... So, there definitely is hope!!! But, the only difference is, I have a progesterone problem. HERE< is also some great hope... I've was considered having a fertility problem... Trying for 4 years and no births yet. And I got pregnant so fast after my last m/c... YOu are extremely fertile within that week your HCG gets back down to 0... So, Kim... if your level was at 6 the other day... you should be fertile again here very soon. Best of luck and don't give up!!! DJ- if you end up losing this one, keep in mind that you will be very fertile also, as soon as your levels hit 0. :) ALSO... DJ- have you had an ultrasound?? Because you can match the HCG with the ultrasound... even though most doctors say that you usually can't see anything until your HCG hits 2000. But, at 5 weeks you should be able to see something

Daniella - September 14

DJ--- 2 more questions.... are you 100% sure on the date of conception? because if it implanted late, it might just be too early for you. Also, did you get your progesterone level checked? My last pregnancy (before the heartbeat had stopped) my progesterone was only 8.4 at like 10 weeks... I am only 5 to 6 weeks now, and the progesterone was at 19.1, about 2 weeks ago. So, much better this time around

Kimberly - September 14

Daniella...thanks. I received a call yesterday from my OB nurse and she told me that the level was too low, but that I was pregnant. I asked her when can I start trying again and she suggested to wait a cycle. Do I have to wait or can I start right away since my level should be at 0 pretty soon now I think. I am going in for another blood test to make sure that my body is taking care of it by itself. As for the progesterone level....when do you need to get tested for that? Is it a separate test besides the HCG?

DJ - September 14

Kim - I'm glad you asked Danielle the question... I'm terrified waiting for a MC not sure if it hurts or not or what to expect and how do you know when you're ovulating after a m/C did you take your temps or something... I do want to try again. Daniella, yes I've had an u/s this Tuesday I'd be 5w 7 days. I'm not sure when I ovulated but I know the first day of my last menstral period for sure. The fact that they couldn't even see a sac and my HCG levels are low I'm not putting too much faith in this one but want to try again soon. I haven't started bleeding yet but am afraid of what a M/C is like and want to know how I determine when I am fertile again.
