I just got back from the er yesterday, they said my levels had dropped from 194 to 74 and they looked at my u/s and saw a "2 inch cyst" I dont know what to think now after reading all of your inputs. you think I should put the smirnoff away?

You should definateley put that smirnoff away Liz ,at least untill you know whats going on for sure. I have been in the dark for 7 days now i sure need a drink but i have been good. I wont know anything till tuesday.I hope everything works out for you and I know how you are feeling my first hcg test done on last wed showed there was emmediately no hope for me. I am sorry. Just keep your hopes up. I know "way easier said than done". but hang in there. -Lyana

Well I went to the ER today and myHCG number is now 25 so its going down. How long before my period starts again. DAMN

I feel the same way. I am just waiting for my period now it's the longest wait ever. My b___sts slowly but surely aren't sore anymore, I lost five pounds and the bathroom trips are over. I just want it to end so I can be normal again.

Liz & Lyanna - I had a MC / D&E on May 10th. Same issue, low hcg's not doubling. I went back to the doctor on 5/23 and he started me on Clomid after doing an ultrasound. So....I didn't have to wait to get my period. Tomorrow I go back to the doctor for another u/s to see how many follicles I have and to decide which day later this week I'll go in for another IUI (my 8th!!!!!). I'm worried about this cycle working right after a D&E. If I become pregnant again I refuse to go back to my fertility doctor until I'm 7-8 weeks pregnant. I can't bare to go through the blood work every other day to see if my #'s are doubling. I often wonder if I could have been one of the ones (like Tiffany - read her story) who had slow rising hcg's. I'd rather wait to go to the doctor when a heartbeat can be detected (after 6 weeks). See your doctor now about going on fertility drugs, you don't need to wait until you get your period. I got my results today. My hcg only went up from 32 to 47 in 48 hours. My doctor says it's not a viable pregnancy and she ordered a sonogram not an ultrasound. I am so confused and I can't wait for this to be over. I hope it's not ectopic.

Well I went to the doc today to get a pelvic, she saw no blood and my cyst is gone horray, I have to go get more blood work done tomorrow to see if my HCG went down to zero. it was 25 on monday. I am still hoping that somehow it will go up to 7,000 but that won't happen I know. Anyway after my period comes. I am try again. this is my first miscarriage, so no fertility for me at least not yet anyway.

Well good luck Liz. I had my sonogram today they didn't see anything anywhere. No embryo in the uterus,ovaries or tubes. I had MORE blood work dont today and I will see tomarrow if my hcg hit zero. I am or was definateley pregnant I just don't know what hapeened or where the fetus is or where my period is.

Hi, I thought I would like to share my low-slow hCG story. 14 DPO, it was 36. The doctor said it is low, so come back in two days. Two days later, it was 60. Not doubling. So the Doc said don't expect too much as I would most certainly miscarry, but we are not giving up until I start bleeding, as strange things happen inthe world and sometimes it starts growing. So I prayed and prayed and prayed, ate everything that was supposed to be good for growing embryo or fetus, and tried to rest whenever I could... I could feel my body was working hard, or something inside my tummy was working hard, as I could feel my temperature and some movement inside my body. 6 days later, the level was up at 810!!! The level more than doubled every two days (1.6 times a day) and now the Dr says it seems like viable pregnancy. But until I get the ultrasound 10 days after the last blood test, I cannot really tell for sure...but I am sure it is a healthy pregnancy. I just feel it. So, those of you who have been told the level is low, and not quite doubling in the early stage, don't give up. Until the fat lady things, you should keep your positive mind, and maybe mabye your baby is strong enough to hang in there!!!! There are some slow starters!

Hi all-- Glad I found this site so I can hear all your stories similar to mine. Had IVF 3 weeks ago. 1st hcg 26, 2nd 9.9. Not too optimistic, but am staying on progesterone just in case and having another test in 2 days. Wish a miracle for me!!

Hi everyone!!! I am amazed to see that so many women are enduring this same thing. I'm not quite sure what is going on with me, but I started having pain in what felt like were my ovaries about 2 months ago, and then abouth amonth ago, i began to feel nautious, dizzy, tired, etc. Went to the doctor's, and the first thing they thought was pregnancy, but I told them it couldn't be, i had just had my period(although it was very light) and my boyfriend has had a vasectomy. They then began to test me for diabetes and such and all of those tests came back negative. They then thought maybe i had ovarian cysts, so they sent me for an ultrasound. My doctor sent me for a blood test and then proceeded to tell me that the ultrasound results were normal in the respect that there were no cysts, but apparently there was fluid in my uterus or pelvis or something. (btw - my period last week was very very painful with almost NO blood - what's that about??) Anyhow, that is why he ordered the bloodtest was because the urine results were negative and he says that the hcg levels may just be low..........I have to wait till Monday and i'm going crazy too!!!! what am i to expect from now? Do they test the levels volountarily and all the rest? I'm just at a standstill, any more info would be greatly appreciated!! Best of luck to all!!

Well, I finally started bleeding on friday and I spent 5 hours in the er they said my body was expelling the pregnancy natuarlly. I didn't need a d&c. My hcg level went form 126 to 22 and thats it its done and over.

Lyana- I'm so sorry. I go in for my 3rd (and probably last) hcg blood test today. I'm envious of you, though. You're only 20 so you have plenty of time to have babies. For a lot of us, the clock is ticking and we still have such a great urge to carry babies in our bodies and give birth! Good luck everyone! -sj
