Kelly: I have had 4 miscarriages. It took FOREVER for my levels to go down. I kept track of them every week in a journal, and the lower they got, the slower it took. Its also a mathmatical statistic, thats just the way it works. So...thats normal. Hope that helps.

can a blood test detect an etopic pregnancy at 17 days ??? of pregnancy

KatieJ - October 12

I took 2 home p.t. which came out - my last period was Aug. 27 so I went to the dr. she did the HgC test and it came back at 700 and + for preg. then a 2nd (3 days later) to make sure it wasn't a tubal, the level was about 2,500 I went in for an ultrasound the results came back with no fetal heartbeat. I am scared to death that I am going to miscarry, I am not spotting or bleeding yet but am having terrible cramps I went back to the dr. today she did another HgC test to see where the count is I will find out in a couple of days & also have another u/s set for next week. Has anyone else experienced this type of thing and if so what was your outcome? I feel for all of you and wish you all the best of luck!

You're about 6w3d, right? My specialist told me that they only see a heartbeat about 50 percent of the time at 6 weeks. Your numbers seem pretty good. Is this your 1st pregnancy? Because cramping is not uncommon, especially with a first pregnancy as long as you don't have any bleeding with it. If your hcg level hasn't increased much or if it has dropped, then that may be cause for alarm but until you know, try to relax & get some rest. I know it's easier said than done, believe me! But don't lose hope. I had cramping & spotting with my first pregnancy & I had a healthy pregnancy & my little boy is almost 7. Best of Luck & my prayers are with you. Let us know how you make out.

Thanks for your imput! This is actually my 3rd pregnancy & the problem is I really don't know how far along I am. I have had a ton of stress in my life lately (my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 melanoma in early Aug) which I beleive to be the delay in my cycle so I really think its possible I could be even earlier than 6 weeks although the u/s tech just didn't want to beleive that....I think I will wait to see what my OB says and I will definately let you know! Thanks again for your support, I really appreciate it!

Laurie, I agree with you the research Ive been doing also does NOT make me believe that 33 is low. I got my results back today, the doctor said mine was a very low positive and my was 18! I guess every nurse/doctor has their own opinions on level readings. I need to get tested again in a week. I think they just like to see a really strong positive at 100 or above which will be reached quite soon

Laura - October 16

Opps! Just realised Laurie's question was posted a long time ago! hehe Im new to this and just a__sumed it was a recent question...

HOPE! Ladies - been popping in and out since my experiences this summer. Just thought I'd let you be the first to know that I have just done a "faint" positive test this morning. I know I have probably tested to early - ie about a week or so after possibe conception, but very excited! will leave it for another week or so to re-confirm but just thought I let you know that there is hope after awful experiences encountered. Hope to keep you posted with progress - not going to go to doctors yet as very early and they wont be able to conclude anything yet! Good luck to those of you waiting, and Teigan, hope all is going well with you x

I'm glad to hear about your positive HPT. I had a chemical pregnancy in August. I think I just finished ovulated so I hope I get a positive test in a couple of weeks also. It always makes me happy to hear from women on this site that are able to conceive after their losses. It definitely gives me hope that ther's a chance for me.

Tracy - October 21

My hCG on 10/19 was 30, two and a half weeks past ovulation, and my Dr. is still optomistic! I say don't worry until you have something to worry about.

maribel - October 22

my question is i miscaried last week.i was only about a month 1/2,my blood was getting ck once a week to make sure it goes down wich it did it was 107 on monday then thur was 127 what does this mean,i had to go for a biopsy on friday morning,

Tracy - October 22

Hey Laura, I was answering the old question too! Have you gotten your second test results back yet? Is the news good? I take my second test on 10/24 (my test this past wednesday was 30). I foolishly picked up some very heavy flooring tiles in Home Depot today and have been having mild cramping ever since.

Terrie to Maribel - October 23

I'm sorry about your loss, Maribel. My last pregnancy was a chemical pregnancy. I miscarried just a week after my period was due. The doctors ck my pregnancy level. It was at 12 one day then increased to 14. Later it dropped. I guess your body keeps producing the pg hormone for awhile.
