Congrats Melissa! That is wonderful. If you don't mind me asking did you have a C-section and if so, how has the recovery been compared to when you had a myomectomy. I am now 28 weeks and sort of freaking out about having a c-section and how the recovery will be. Hope everyone is doing well! Take care.

Lid27-I am sorry for what you went throught. Lid I lost my baby at 23 weeks. I had no idea I have fibroid until 21 week, when I went in pre term labor. I have no spotting during my whole pregnancy. The labor just came and I had infection as well, just as you did. I have only 1 or possibly 2 fibroids. I went to see 2 Dr. and they both adviced me to have myomectomy, prior new pregnancy. I never new I have fibroids, HAD NO SYMPTOMS, got pregnant first month , our first try. I AM SO SCARED FROM SURGERY, but I don't wnat to go throuht loosing my baby again. I might not be able to get pregnant on my own after surgery but there is always IVF. I just don't want to go throught loosing my baby in second trimester again . :-)

Lid27 - November 12

Katarina i am also very scared I would loss another child this is very hard for its been a month and I feel like it was just yesterday and I miss her so is that one of the risk of the surgery that we would not be able to concive naturally OMG that makes it more scary is that a minor posibility or it will happend I would be devestated but how about if my fibroids are pea size will they be able to oporate anyway or they will defently say no

katarinak - November 12

Lid27-Did I understand right that your fibroids are the size of pea ? They can take it out laparoscopicaly and then you shouldn't have infertility issue. Lid27 I supose to have my surgery January 24 and I'm so scared I can't even describe it. I am scared from not be able to concive on my own, that's my biggest fear. I am from Europe and my Dr. in Europe adviced me to ttc again without the surgery, but I am to scared for that too. I guess I prefer to have full term pregnancy by IVF than half way on my own .

katarinak - November 12

Ladies did any of you read about the advertises in this site for pills which treat fibroids? What you think about that ?

damajuana - November 13

Hi all! Yesterday I had my first ecography since the myomectomy and luckily the doctor told me that fibroids have not returned and that if I haven´t told him that I had a myomectomy he will tell me that I have a normal uterus! The size returned to the normal size, I have got no scars (inside the uterus) and what is more important no fibroids!. Hope this means that without a fibroid on the western front we can wait til December as we wanted to, to start looking for a baby. I asked if he saw that trumps connected to the uterus but he told me that that depends on the permeability of the trumps and can only be measured with a salinography or something like that that won´t be done to me unless I cannot get pregnant naturally. Congratulations Melissa! What´s the name of the baby?. Ms Monet how r u alldoing?.

katarinak - November 13

Damajuana- I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU. Your Dr.must of done good job. I am very very happy for you from the bottom of my heart. I will be praying for you to get prego as soon as possible. :-)

Joker - November 13

Hi everyone..MelissaK..CONGRATS! I'm so happy for you and your little girl..What is her name? You must be thrilled..please keep posting (if you get a free moment) and let us know how both of you are doing.. MSMONET! How are you girl...hang in there..I'm thinking and praying for you all the other lucky mommies to be on here..and all the hopeful..nothing new with me..not preggo's..aunt flow is in town..that was expected because we weren't able to try last cycle... LID27..I'm so sorry for your lost..we all feel your pain here. If you don't mind I would like to ask you a few questions..how old are you? I'm thinking you are my age..27-28? I understand your frustration of not knowing who to listen to regarding having this surgery..please go and get another opinion....the doctor need to do more testing to find out what type of fibroids you have..are they in the wall..outside or inside the uterus..Your fibroids might be small and that is why there were not picked up on the ultrasound...did anyone mention to you how big they were? Since you weren't having any pain except for the spotting..they may have not paid too much attention to the fibroids when they were checking you out since they were trying to find the source of a bleed..it is hard for me to even suggest what you should do..but one thing I know for sure is you should get another opinion..you need to know the size and location of your fibroids..and believe us here..your doctor telling you since the fibroids did not prevent you from getting pregnant you should be OK next time...Another thing is doctors will not tell you the fibroids caused you to miscarry or go into preterm labor..because most of the time the fibroids indirectly cause preterm labor or miscarriage by affecting the placenta's blood supply and distort and irritate your uterus...which may cause you to go into preterm labor..it seems pretty direct to me but that is how the doctors put it..so the fibroids my cause the placenta to pull away from the uterus wall...but the doctors will just you went into pre term labor because of that the fibroids may have contributed to that happening..I'm sorry if I keep saying the same thing over and over again but I just want to make sure you understand why the doctors would say the fibroids didn't cause you to go into pre term labor...the infection may have been due to something else..I've been writing so long now I forgot what I was going to say...Please post soon and let us know how you are doing or with any other questions and believe me I feel for you from the bottom of my heart I do... I lost my baby girl at 24 weeks...your days will get easier as time goes by..Take Care
