Hi everyone, I haven't posted in a long time, but I've really been enjoying all of the good news! Jade -- it's definitely a tough decision to have the myomectomy since doctors can never tell you if the fibroids definitely caused miscarriage. During my surgery (November 2007 too) my doctor removed 2 fibroids we knew I had and 9 more she found during the surgery. I think that both the size and position of fibroids can contribute to miscarriages. Even though the surgery was hard, I feel good knowing that I've done everything I can and now the rest is in God's hands. Have you considered acupuncture? I'm doing that now and it's really helping manage my stress, plus it may have some reproductive benefits too. Good luck to you!

MSMONET!!! I'm so happy for you.. I can't wait to hear about the babies. I'm wishing you and yours the very best. I hope you are well enough and can find the time to drop us a quick line! WOW! I still can't believe it...I still can't believe nine months have gone by already. I'm truly thrilled for you and got so scared for you early on with the bleeding episodes but you made it through...you are one touch cookie and you will be a GREAT MOM!! Hopeful..how are you doing? I am also equally thrilled for you..you will be a GREAT MOM also! Keep posting! Jade, I'm sorry to hear about your loses. A fibroid can cause problems you don't even know about, and if a small fibroid just happen to be in the wrong spot it can cause a miscarriage. If all your test came back fine then I really don't know what the issue could be..have you tried going for genetic counseling. I've read that most 1st tri miscarriages are due to chromosomes issues. I', not saying that is what your issue is but that could be a possibility. Are you seeing a fertility specialist? Also, some women who have no issues sometimes have multiple miscarriages early in the 1st tri and then go on to have a healthy pregnancy. I know of someone this happened to. She has 3 healthy kids now, but in between all three she had multiple early 1st trimester loses. Down not Out, nice to see you here. Whats up? Are you TTCing? Girls, post and let us know how you are doing post surgery. Wishing everyone the best. Take Care

Hi everyone, Joker -- I'm doing very well, thanks for asking! My myo was in November and my doctor said we could start TTC this month. My biggest hope for 2008 was to be pregnant on my original due date in March and I just got so much strength from reading all of your stories. God heard my prayers! I got a BFP on a home pregnancy test on Thursday. Now I'm just holding my breath and praying that this time everything will be alright.

Down, not Out! Congrats to you! I'm so happy for you. That is wonderful news, wishing you the best non-complicated pregnancy. I have been thinking about when I will get pregnant and I can't wait. I'm hoping to get a positive test this month...but if not will keep on trying :) I don't know if this will apply to you but have you and your doctor talked about how you will be treated for this pregnancy. Will you be cla__sified as high risk due to your history? The next time I see my doctor I'm going to find out. Well, more like I'm going to let him know that at soon as I reach 16 weeks I want to see a specialist..I also read that 17 alphahydroxy progesterone monthly shots are recommended from about 16 weeks to 33 weeks...DON'T ANYONE PANIC! It is for women who had a history of pre-term labor..and I think I should do this..since in the medical world the fibroids may or may not have contributed to pre-term labor. Don't anyone get worried I'm just putting the information out there so you know to ask about it. I don't want to be high risk and I don't want to take any drugs i would rather be safe than sorry. Down not out please don't get scared I just wanted to mention it to you so you could discuss it with your doctor. Congrats again and take care. Hopeful it is so nice to hear from you. You must be having the time of your life...MsMonet I hope you and your twins are doing well. Post and let us know.

Hello everyone! I haven't posted in a long time because so much has been going on with me. Nothing bad, but wow! I see MsMonet is about to have her babies! Congratulations! Katarink, you actually decided to have the surgery. I hope all is well. Joker, look like you're getting closer and closer!
Right now, I'm going thru the GnRH Agonist stimulation test to a__sess my reproductive potiential. yes, I had to get another Lupron shot. I was able to give it to my self. One shot in the stomach. And yes, I'm having hot flashes. On Sunday, I start taking the clomid to make sure my ovaries are able to produce quality eggs. I have my final exam on Friday. If all goes well, I could get pregnant this month. We are sooooo praying for this. I was told my ovaries are small so thats the reason why we elected to go thru this. I can't wait for the results on Friday! Wish me blessings please!

Hi Damajuana~ Thanks for asking about me. We just started trying last month and were unsuccessful. Now, in month #2 we hope to get a positive result. Won't know till the end of the month. I've been having a lot of pain in the area of my largest fibroid - to the extent that I need to take pain meds still at times. I will have an ultrasound next week. I pray and hope that my fibroids have not grown back in the 8-9 months since my myo. In September, my doc didn't feel any but you never know. I just want this pain to go away - you kow? So we have four more months if this month doesn't work to ttc. How much more time will you give yourself until you seek other options (fertility, etc.?) How many months have you tried so far? I am hoping the best for both of us and everyone else on this blog!!! - Sasha

Hi there ladies. Day 4 after my myomectomy. Things are good. The pain is a little more than I expected but I guess a myo is a major surgery. I am still swollen and I guess from what I have read I will be swollen for a while. I am glad it is over with. My doctor removed 12 fibroids - three of which were the size of golf b___s. I got the staples out this morning - that did not hurt at all. KatarinaK - I am glad to hear you are doing good. How long before you can ttc? Hopefully you will get the greenlight to exercize soon.

Hi Katarinal! I guess everyone is busy either taking care of newborns, trying to get pregnant, recovering from surgery or contemplating surgery and other options, etc. For a mintue there, I thought my computer wasn't working or the network of bloggers was no longer a reality. I guess everyone is just very, very, very busy. Joker...how are you doing? You are the one who started this amazing thread. I know, like me, you are ttc. How are you feeling lately? How's everyone else doing as well? Katarinak~ all the best to you at your first appointment! Sasha~

Hey all. A little update from me: Its been 4 months since my myo. I just had my first post-op ultrasound and all looks good - but, she found a couple of ovarian cysts. The doc said its probably nothing to get excited about, but she wants to do another ultrasound in a few weeks. The doc still wants me to take an HSG exam soon. I'm just afraid my tubes will spasm and they will think they're blocked when they're not, like last time. But the doc said no matter what the HSG shows, I have the green light to TTC starting in March!! If we're not successful in a few months, then we can discuss other options, namely IVF. I go back to the doc in a few weeks to go over the results of the HSG, and that's when I'll get the second ultrasound to see if there's any change in the cysts. I'm nervous that the HSG will show scar tissue, but I guess we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. I'm trying to focus on the good news that we can start trying in March.
