PREGNANCY AFTER MYOMECTOMEY PART 2

Hi KM Williams! I was just thinking about you and wondering how you are recovering. How long were you in the hospital after the surgery? How do you feel now? Are you back at work? Did your dr give you any indication of how long you should wait to ttc after the surgery? Lots of questions from me!!! My surgery is scheduled for 3 weeks from today. I'm nervous and excited about the surgery. I'm just very eager to recover and move on from this stage of my life. I was very emotional today. For some reason I was overwhelmed with anxiety about waking up from the surgery and not having a uterus anymore. I guess it's normal to worry but I cried for a while today just thinking about it. The more I told myself to stop thinking negatively the more I couldn't get the thought out of my head! I feel like once I wake up from the surgery and hear that my fibroids are gone and everything turned out ok then I can finally take a breath and relax and just move forward. Do you feel differently now after the surgery like a weight has been lifted?

Hi KB, I am more than happy to answer your questions. My surgery was on Tuesday morning and I was released Thursday afternoon. Most hospitals want you to have a bowel movement. My suggestion to you is ask for prune juive and milk of magnesium... it helped tremendously... LOL. I am a real estate agent so I am not doing a 9 to 5 job which makes things easier for me. I feel absolutely great now. I am so glad I did the surgery. I found a dr. who cared and was concerned for my well being and most of all my fertility. I was just like you scared I was going to wake up without a uterus but that wasn't the case. Even though your dr. should know this stress to them how importatnt it is to preserve your fetility. As for ttc my doctor told me to wait 3 months. So we will be actively trying this August. I can't wait. I was looking into buying a clear blue easy ovulation monitor but we're not sure if we want to go that route just yet. I know exactly what you feel. I've been there heck we've all been there worrying ourselves to death. However, there is one thing I had to do and that is "LET GO AND LET GOD". As you know there are things that happen that is out of our control the only thing we can do is pray and take things one day at a time. Sometimes I get nervous and wonder if there is scar tissue and if I will need to do IVf and so on and so on.. but I just pray that God will bless me one day. Just keep the faith.

Hi everyone~ I had my egg retrieval this morning and was glad that 13 eggs were retrieved!!! It seems that it's one battle after another. Well, this one was won and I am so thankful to God!! Tomorrow morning, I'll get a call to see how many of the 13 were actually fertilized. I am praying for the best! Hopefully, my embryo transfer will take place on Friday and I'll take a pregnancy test in two weeks. I am in a lot of pain but nothing compared to how I felt when I returned home from my myomectomy. I'll continue to keep you all posted. For those who are about to have surgery or are currently ttc, keep the faith! Again, somehow or another, we'll all be mommies one day. For me, it seems that the road is IVF which I again am grateful for! Love, Sasha~

Sasha I am so happy for you. I said a prayer tonight. I hope all goes well during this process. May God continue to Bless and keep you and your husband.

Hi KM~ Thanks for the prayers! I so appreciate it!! I just got the call from the lab. Out of the 13 that were retrieved, 11 were mature and 8 fertilized!!!! This is good news! So, tomorrow I'll get another call to see how the 8 that were fertiliezed are holding up. I pray to God that they do well and that on Friday we can transfer 4. 4 is the recommendation from two fertility doctors that I am dealing with. It's very uncommon for someone my age - age 42 - to have multiples. Babies sometimes "dissolve" inutero. This is the thinking behind transfering 4. We would of course freeze the remaining 4. So, today, God has blessed us again! I know that you'll begin ttc in August! That is the best news!! I will pray for you as well. August is right around the corner! Make sure you're taking your folic acid my dear! :) Angelkitty~thanks for the heads up about the other thread. I went on and started talking to other IVFers! :) How are you doing in your process? Will you do another IUI this month like you wrote in a previous posting? Please keep me posted. Sasha~

Congratulations on all the pregnancies!!! What a blessing!!! Congratulations Sasha--that is great news!!!! Happy Healing KM Williams!!!! KB your surgery is almost here and you are going to rejoice like I did!!!! I was soooo happy to have it done. Mine was in January and even to this day, I feel great. Lighter and shorter periods and I am enjoying it! KB I was also told to wait 3 months post op to ttc. (Every doc may be different though) Ok recap, surgery for me was end of January, post op was 6weeks later. At post op, doc told me in the next 1-3 months to go for an HSG and she would review uterus status as far as healing progress was concerned and tubes. My 3months post op would have been June 4th (today to be exact), and today we were to start ttc. But I took the HSG last month (2 and a half weeks ago) and started trying then, only few days after that. So here I am!!! I'll keep trying until I know something. I am hoping that everything goes well this cycle, but we will keep trying until we get our little one. This is our very first cycle trying since the surgery, the healing process, and the HSG test. So since my post op appointment, its only been 2 months and 3 weeks(right at the 3month mark)----so I will see how things go for this month of June!!! I also will be going to a baby shower this weekend so i will be going to buy a gift on Saturday!!! Wow, mine is coming one day!!!! My friend is having a little girl who she has named Nina. This is one of our friends who had a previous myo surgery about 6 years ago and 13 of her fibroids came back about 4 years after her myo surgery. She is carrying the baby and the 13 fibroids at this very moment. During her delivery in July, her doc plans to deliver a healthy baby girl and the fibroids as well. Love Yal!!!! God is Faithful!!! Enjoy your week!!!!!!!

Thanks KM & A-Miracle for your input. I'm going to print out your post and take them to the dr with me and say "see dr, these women are trying after only 3 months so pllllease let me try that soon too"!!!! JUST JOKING! My dr is leaning more towards the conservative side I think mainly because he told me to ttc with the fibroids in the first place. When I did and the pregnancy ended unsuccessfully at 21 weeks he said that his main goal was to get me to a point to where I can carry as close to full term as possible. So I think that he will probably stick to his guns and continue to say wait 4 to 6 months but we'll see. I want to make sure that I'm completely healed enough and have a strong healthy uterus but I also don't want to wait around too long and give these darn fibroids an opportunity to grow back before ttc. Two and a half weeks to go! I'm sitting on pins and needles and litterally watching the clock. I'm so anxious to catch up with you guys and be on the ttc path again. Good luck to you all!

Sasha, I am glad you checked out the IVF thread - they are a great group of gals. Congrats on the 8 fertilizing!!!!! I am so excited for you. I am on cd6 taking 50mg of clomid and will be doing my IUI next week. :o) As my dh said - the last 2 IUI's worked so we have to believe it will work again. :o)

sasha777 - June 4

Hey Angelkitty~ Thanks for the message! Tell me more about your two successful IUI's in the past. Did they take the first time? Was it because of the fibroids that you lost both babies? Now that the fibroids are gone, you must be so eager and excited to get started!!!!! I just know that the IUI will work again for you!!! Sasha~

KM Williams - June 4

Sasha again I am so happy for you. I believe this is your time so enjoy it. God is going to make a way. A-miracle... I hope you get pregnant this month. I can't wait until August so my husband and I can try. It seems so far away yet so close. I am taking folic acid and iron everyday. I just refilled my prenantal vitamins so the month before (July) I will start taking those. I watched a baby story and a couple delivered their daughter via c-section after a ab myo so we all have hope. We also have read women from this thread who have gone on to have children even twins. Sasha you may end up with twins this time around. : ) LOL. God Bless to all who are pregnant and those like me who are trying. OUR DREAM WILL COME TRUE.

angelkitty - June 5

Good morning ladies!! I hope you are all doing well. Has anyone heard from Joker – it seems it has been forever since she has posted. Maybe she will come around and start a new and shorter thread - pregnancy after myo part 3... :o) Sasha – my two IUI’s were both in conjunction with 50 mg of clomid and a trigger shot. The first time I m/c it was more than likely genetic- I m/c at 7.5 weeks. The second time is still a bit of mystery but my perinatologist and RE both think it was fibroid related. There was shadowing behind the placenta so what they think happened was a fibroid degenerated and caused a placental abruption. I was almost 17 weeks when I m/c the 2nd time. I am so glad you found the IVF thread – again, I have never posted there but I read that thread all of the time because many of the girls that were on my IUI thread (2ww No more) graduated to IVF and have gone on to have their babies. That is going to be you!!!!!! KM is sounds like you are getting things in order for a successful pregnancy - how exciting!!!! I have also added a cup of green tea to my daily regimen and the 81 mg of baby aspirin. I did that the last time I did an IUI. Take care ladies. Christy

Good Evening girls~ I had my transfer today and all went well. We transfered 6 embryos (eggbies)! The doctors strongly suggested a minimum of 4 for my age (42 years old) and possibly 1 or 2 more. The percentage of it working is only 10%. So my husband being the numbers guy and very hopeful thought we should go for 6. I got the confirmation from both doctors as well and the emryologist. We'll know if it worked two weeks from today when I go in at 8:00 am for a pregnancy test. I am praying and hoping that at least one survives and goes on to implant with my endometrium lining. I'm taking progesterone morning and night to strengthen my lining. The doctor talked about my myomectomy and the removal of 46 fibrids. We are hoping that my uterus can sustain a pregnancy! KM Williams~ I think I saw that same show on tv and yes, we wil have our babies one day!!! Angelkitty, thanks for the encouragement! Joker...I pray that you're hanging in there girl! We are all here for one another! Sasha~

KM Williams - June 9

Sasha I am so happy for you. God is going to continue to bless you and the process you're going through. Just continue to pray and think positive. Qucik question to all... what was the steps you took after your myo. I have a doctor not the one who preformed the surgery but another one (fertility specialist) and she said if I were going to try on my own to see her in 6 months if I don't get pregnant. I still have a fibroid (2-3cm) they had to leave in. I am scheduled to have a sonohystogram on I think the 17th but is there anything else I should ask for? I read a few had an hsg... I was told my tubes looked good but should I get that done as well? Also, how would they know if scar tissue developed? Sorry if this sounds crazy but I don't know and would appreciate the input. Joker where are you... we miss you. I thank God for you because I don't know how I would have survived loosing my daughter without this forum. You have truly touched all of our lives just by starting this forum. Ms. Monet where are you? We miss your encouraging words. Hope the twins are doing well. Kat 123 I know it's early but when are you scheduled for your ultrasound? A-miracle don't worry about having one tube God is also going to make a way for you. Just claim it. To all those pregnant I hope the pregnancy is going wonderfully. For most of us just being fibroid free is a blessing. God Bless.

damajuana - June 10

Hi all! Congratulations on your pregnancy Kat 123! The best luck to you Sasha and keep thinking positive, the mind makes miracles!. Speedy recovery KM Williams!. Hope you are all doing fine. I have just returned from my holidays we went to Bariloche, it was really nice to spend some time together on our own with my husband before the baby arrives and I start getting heavier. We still don´t know if it´s female or male, we have the next ultrasound on Friday so hope everything keeps going fine and they will tell us the gendre. Where is Joker and Ms Monet they haven´t posted anything for some time. Good luck to you I am very happy to hear all the good news. Have a great evening!.Damajuana

KM Williams - June 10

Damajuana how is your pregnancy going? How many weeks are you?

damajuana - June 11

Hi KMS. I am 21 weeks pregnant. The ultrasound was scheduled for last week but I was on holiday so I had to change it for next Friday. You know we went by bus to Bariloche cause the airport was closed, it took us 20 bus hours to get there!. Luckily we could return by plane and did not have to go through the long journey again. I am glad I took all the dammed fibroids away otherwise I could not even think about doing something like that. Hope the doctor finds everything ok this Friday, but I am not suffering from any pain, except the normal back pain and that stuff. Hope everything keeps going fine.
