KM Williams-most of us on this site have abdominal myo. I had my January 24th 2008 and was told to wait 6 month. I know it is longer that is necesery, but I know that my group of Obgyn are very caution. Maybe to much. But I am OK with it, I'm going with the flow. So my next app. is set for July 15th when he will check my uterus if it is ready to TTC again, which by then definetelly should be. So you are lucky that you only need to wait 3 months after surgery, that will fly by, with recovery etc.You want even know and it will be time to ttc for you. Do you know approx. when you would have the surgery ?

angelkitty - February 29

I just had my ab myo done three weeks ago...My RE told me I only had to wait 6 wks before ttc.

KM Williams - February 29

Yes, I realized that almost everyone has had an ab myo done. Angel if your doctor says 6 weeks and you've completed 3 you only have three more to go. I know you must be extremely excited. Katarinak I don't know when I am going to have the surgery... there will be a memorial service for all the children who have pa__sed the week after Easter and I want to attend that. So depending on the doctors schedule before or after Easter. I've only met with one doctor I have another appt. on Tuesday (thought it was Wednesday). Tonight I went to the funeral home where they cremated my daughter. I've never been (I know that is terrible) but tonight I viewed the place and talked to her for a moment. It was a better experience than I could have imagine. KKMS I hope you get your period this weekend. Damajuana again best of luck with your pregnancy.

Hi all! I saw my doctor and he told me that the corpus luteus (a corpus that used to hold the egg and then stays in the uterus producing the hormones for pregnancy) is not producing enough progesterone due to a small bruise so I have to take it in pills and stay at home til next Friday, when he will examine me again and if everything goes right he will let me do normal life. I asked him what probabilities do I have of fibroids coming back, and he told me that very little as he removed all of them and also told me that they don´t grow that fast. Mine for example grew 5 cms in five years. That makes an average of 1 cm per year, so imagine how slow they can grow. KM Williams and angelkitty FYI I was told to wait three months to be totally healed, at the third month I had an ultrasound and it showed I was perfectly healed, the doctor told me that I won´t heal more than that, that sometimes doctors wait for other factors of the body to heal or to stabilize, but not the scars. So keep thinking positive. Here, it rains like hell outside so I won´t care about staying home for one week. I hired lots of movies and will stay in here totally dry :).

Damajuana, I am praying that all goes well for you and your baby this week. I've heard of issues with progesterone in women and am glad that your doctor diagnosed this quickly. Watching movies and resting sounds like a wonderful thing to do. Please keep us informed on your outcome. Sasha~

Kat123 - March 1

KKMS, it took me a month after the surgery for my first period to come back. I hope it comes soon for you. DamaJuana, I heard of that also - where some woman don't produce enough progesterone. Good thing they figured it out right away. So happy for you! Yes relax and watch movies! Sasha, I think we both were told we can start in Feb/March. How is it going for you so far? We are going to start soon.

healing . . . . - March 1

Daumajuana, I will keep you in my prayers. Good thing you went to your doctor right away. KM Williams - my doc told me to wait 6 months before we TTC, but I had my follow-up ultrasound and HSG a couple of weeks ago, and they checked out okay, so the doc said we could start trying in March, one month early. However, I must admit . . . my hubby and I might have "jumped the gun" last weekend :-)

Hi Kat123~We're still trying. We are presently in the trying stage of month number 3 and hoping for the best. I broke down and took out the fertility monitor just so I could make sue I was ovulating according to technology. I knew I was based on my body but when we got pregnant before - the fertility monitor was so helpful in helping us. We're presently in the "high" mode and the "peak" mode should occur in the next 24-72 hours. So, we'll know hopefully by March 23rd - around that time. If not, we'll give it three more tries and if still no pregnancy- we'll see the fertility specialist in July. I know you were going to go straight to fertility treatments if nothing happened by April right? Are you still keeping that same timeline or are you going to give it a few more months first? Sasha~

damajuana - BIG CONGRATS TO YOU. I'm so happy for you. I know how excited this must be for you. Take Care and take your pills and just relax...as if I need to tell you that :-) I'm happy the doctor tested your progesterone and found what the issue was..please ask your doctor about 17-alhpahydroxy progesterone..I'm not exactly sure how it is used or what type of situation calls for it, but it is a weekly shot that is given from about 16 weeks up to 34 weeks for women with low progesterone..but please don't shoot the messenger..I just came across it in my research and I would rather share it with you so you can get the facts on it from your doctor..I came across it on a chat with women posting their experiences. I'm glad everyone is doing so well. I'm sorry I have not been around I was in bed sick for a few days with the flu and I had my doc appt on Friday. Well, I'm not getting a HSG done..not yet. My doc told me that yes scar tissue can develop but it is really not as common as people think as far as blocking..and I need to be more aggressive and try for 4 to 6 more months and if nothing then he will send my husband for testing and if he is ok he will do a HSG on me. Of course I'm only going to wait 4 more months..but can't tell you when that 4 months will be because my husband is away and who knows when he will be back!!! But the good news is I am fibroid free and my uterus is the size of a "normal" uterus and my doctor even bragged about how good of a surgery he did!!! Which meant the world to me that my "tiny" uterus was so impressive..now if I could only get pregnant and have a full term baby..that to me would be impressive... I know I said before I was going to go in there with guns blazzin, but I changed my mind..he basically told me I need to relax and to have s_x every other days starting 10 days before I ovulate and up to 5 days after. So I'm going to do try it his way and see what happens. I was really only focusing on 5 days before I ovulate and a day or two after..but he suggest the 10/5 day..so you know the body is mysterious and as much as we try to time certain things it just doesn't seem to always work out..so I'm hoping by starting further away from the window and working towards and pa__s it then something will happen. Of course I say all this now because I'm trying to be optimistic but let 4 months go by and I'm not pregnant and my hubby checks out ok and it turns out my tubes were blocked this whole time then I'll be really losing it. Where is MsMonet! Take care everyone.

Hi Sasha, the doctor who completed my myo is a fertility doctor. I have been keeping in contact with them since the surgery. Here's what I've been going thru. I was told on the first day of my period to call them in Jan. First day was 1/31. On 2/1, I went in to take the Agn test with clomid. That day, she checked my ovaries just to make sure she could find them for later. She found them but had a hard time because I have already been told that I have small ovaries. I had a shot of lupron and 5 days low dosage of clomid. After the 5 days, still on my period, I went in for her to check the ovaries again (so uncomfortable to have someone in there while on my period) - and thank God they actually stimulated! So I was told to call the first day I ovulate. Luckily my husband and I (like you want to hear this) had s_x the night before so she told me to come in that day to check my mucous. Its similiar to a pap smear. She took a sample and put it under a microscrope and thank God, she found active sperm in my mucous from the cervix. So I was told to take a shot of Ovidrel, which helps stimulate the eggs, that night, and actually not to have s_x that night - but the next day to continue having s_x. This happened on a Wed 20th. So right now, we are waiting. So far no period! Period was suppose to start on the 29th. I don't want to get too excited yet because of all I have been through with the first miscarriage and having the myo right after. I'm just ignoring that I haven't had a period and will wait until next week Wed to take a HPT. It takes about 10-14 days for the Ovidrel(hcg shot) to fully leave my body, but I was told since the Ovidrel was only 100 mg, it shld't take that long to leave. I'm still going to wait until next Wed if I have no period to take the test. Its funny because this time, my husband and I haven't even been obsessing over this. If nothing happens this month, I will have the fertility doctor give me stronger drugs so that I could get pregnant soon. I really don't want to wait too long. Its nice to know I had such a reaction from the low dosage so I'm thinking the higher dosage should get me pregnant. Well at least I'm hoping. I would suggest to mention this test with your doctor. It really gave me an ease of mind knowing that the ovaries are still active. I'll give updates after Wed next week. You might think this is strange but the first pregnancy I had, I dreamt that I had a baby and I was trying to keep the baby warm and I woke up crying, a week later we found out we were pregnant and ended up miscarring. The other night I had a dream that I had a healthy baby. Maybe its wishful thinking but I really hope I am right now! Ok, now I'm obsessing and my husband is telling me to stop it. Damajuana, I need your baby dust!
