Missy..the same thing happened to me. I had three urine tests that came back positive but the doctor could not find any fetus in my uterus at 5 and a half weeks. When she took my blood she said I was without a doubt prego! She said I probably was wrong about my last period because you usually see the fetus at that time and she was 90 percent sure that it wasn't ectopic because there was no show in my tubes either. Two weeks later the doctor saw that the egg was indeed fertilized in my tubes and did not come down but at this time I was in extreme pain and had to have surgery instead of the medication. I was praying that the baby was in the right spot but after the ultrasound showed nothing I knew something was wrong. I hope your case is different and the baby shows up on ultrasound but if you even feel a little pain...especially in the rectum area call your doctor right away so you will not have to get your tube removed and go through surgery. God Bless!

Jen, I can only speak for myself on the symptoms I got when I went through an ectopic pregnancy a few months ago. I had stomach cramping like gas in my stomach but no gas. I felt pain and thought I had to go to the restroom. The pain was in the rectum when urinated and I felt dizzy. When I was given the inserted ultrasound...it was EXTREMELY painful the second time...but the first time, I was given the inserted ultrasound I felt no pain..that is another reason my doctor thought for sure I was NOT having an ectopic pregnancy. If she would have seen the clot in my tube I could have had the medication and kept my tube. I had talked to Cleveland Clinic to get a tubal ligation reversal this summer but there is no sense in it now that I only have one tube. Anyone who has had a tubal ligation with regular periods and misses a period talk to your doctor right away. For your health..For your safety!! and for future plans!!!!

To Misty-My period was due to come one Memorial Day but didn't show up. I took the test on Thursday and it came back positive. So the test came back positive 3 days after my period was due. Hope that helps you. But I have read that if you have an eptopic pregnancy, it sometimes don't show up as positive, so it is best to go to the doctor to have blood drawn. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so we will see what the find.

I have been reading all of the posts here. I too have had a TL back in Aug of 95. I have recently remarried and I too am wanting a baby. My ex husband "convinced" me that we would be together for the rest of our lives, and we had one boy and one girl so what more did we need. I listened to him and went ahead and had the TL. Now almost 10 years later, I have really regretted my decision. I want a baby so bad that every month right before I start, I start "feeling" symptoms. Seriously! Like I get sick at my stomach, and my b___sts start hurting, and I do lactate milk out of my right b___st, and I get really emotional, really tired, I have heartburn and all of that stuff. Then when I start, I bawl like a big ol baby cause I want a baby. However I start like clockwork...every 28 days but the last 3 or 4 months I have been late....Like maybe 4 or 5 days late. Today I was supposed to start but I haven't YET. This gets really hard because the day I'm supposed to start, and I don't I start thinking MAYBE there's that chance. Then when I do start it really hurts. I was 19 when my tubes were tied and my dr. tried to tell me that I shouldn't at such a young age. But with a lot of prompting from my ex husband, he did. I really wish HE would have gone in and had a vasectomy because since our divorce he has had one child AT LEAST and possibly 2 more. He cheated on me all the time. Anyway, all I can do now is pray about another baby. I know that God hears my prayer and that it could be possible. Just keep praying for me because I really want one and so does my husband. I know that with God all things are possible so there is that possibility. Anyway I'll quit rambling on and let you read more posts. Just keep me in your prayers ok!! Thanks

I think so many people hit a low after they have had tubal ligation. What a sense of loss and NO turning back. My house was shaking from my weeping...and I do mean weeping. Everyone in the house left so they didn't have to be around me. I have never felt so much despair and I have been thru alot in my life...but this was ultimate depair for me...because it was a decision I had made to have done to my body. So many WHYs...why didn't my husband go thru surgery instead..why didn't I just take the pill instead...why..why..but we have so much to be happy for...instead of thinking of what could have been...think of what can be!!! Thank God all of us who have had tubal ligation have a child..and what a blessing. If we never have a child again atleast all my effort and time is spent on the children I do have and I am loving every minute. whether it is going to cooking cla__ses with my oldest girl or playing with baby dolls with my young ones!! Thank God they are around me and I am so greatful.

Well, I took an HPT on Friday after being 2 weeks late and it was negative. I am in no pain whatsoever, I cramped for about an hour yesterday and then it was gone. I am calling the Dr. today to make an appointment. I can usually feel my period coming on for a week before and I feel nothing but hungry and tired.

To Heidi and other women here - Heidi please check out the website www.tubal.org/symptoms_of_pts.htm before you go through with the tubal surgery. Had I been told any of this stuff before I had it done I would have gone with another birth control method. After finding out that I was pregnant, then having a miscarriage I can definitely say that it isn't worth risking the heartache because most of pregnancies after tubal are ectopic pregnancies. Plus I have most of the symptoms listed on that website as side effects of the surgery. Nothing like this was ever discussed or explained to me. So be informed before you decide that tubal is the way to go. They have plenty of other options, I so wish I had gone with one of the other ones.

Hello All! I just got back from the doctor's office and when I told them that I was having all the symptoms that I had when I was pregnant with my three kids, the laughed at me and said that my physical came out fine and that there was nothing wrong with me. Eventhough I took a test yesterday and it came back positive with a faint pink line(used the Answer quick and simple test), they said that they could not see anything and that if the line is so faint that you need to see it with a Magnifying gla__s, then it is negative. I clearly see it. They laughed at me and said enjoy life and stop wanting to be pregnant. I cried all the way home. And while I writing this, I am completely sad. They would not give me another urine test or blood test. I don't know what to do. My period was suppose to be here June1st or 2nd. I have not seen a period. My b___st hurt, I am extremely hungry in the morning, urinating all the time, when I don't go to the bathroom on time, my uterus hurts. I have a pains under my stomach, the bottom part of my stomach is growing. I am sleepy all the time. I don't know what it is. The checked all my hormone levels, my glucose levels, my chlorestrol, my iron level, thyroid level, cbc, etc. Everything came out great. I am very healthy. But, they will not do a blood test on me to check if there is HCG in my system or urine test. But, if it is really early, they would have to check my first morning urine for it to come back positive because that is what I had to do yesterday morning. I guess I want to know if I wrong for feeling this way, or should I just suck it up and say nothing is wrong with me and who would believe me anyway? My husband hugged me and said it would be okay, but, I understand there is nothing he can do. So, I am lost.

Hi everyone, My concern is not much different than may of yours. I had my tubes tied in 94, 2 months after the birth of my daughter, I was 22. I have never missed a period but am now 3 weeks late. I have some cramping like I am going to start but feel very sick and have to go to the bathroom very frequently. I don't know about the b___st tenderness...I just had a b___st reduction on May 18 and am still recovering from that. I am hoping it was just the surgery that has thrown my body off but I talked to a nurse today and she said that it shouldn't have made that much of a difference.
I don't know if I want another baby or not. My children (13 and 11) would love it but we are so settled and secure in our life I don't know if I am ready to start all over. I do look at it like this though. If I am it is by God's will and obviously meant to be!

Went to the doc ysterday afternoon for a quantative HCG, I shoulld have the results today. I live in a small town so they had to send to an outside lab. I was reading yesterday that many doctors don't recognize PTS as an actual clinical syndrome so basically they think women who suffer from it are making it up. What a crock. I would like them o try to tolerate any one of those symptoms let a lone 5 or 6 at a time.

Saroyce - My suggestions is either to find another doctor or order your doctor's office to draw blood for an HCG test. Being pregnant after a tubal ligation is something that should be taken seriously as it could mean your life. Remember they work for you and should run any test you ask them too. Even if it is just to lay aside your fears. So if your doctr won't do it, go find another one and tell them don't ask what you want them to do. You need to know for your health and sanity. Don't wait it could mean trouble.

Hi! I am 37 years old and have 3 children ages 15,14,12. During the birth of my last baby(C-Section) I had my tubes cut, tied and burnt. That was in 1993. I too would love to have another baby. I have checked into Tubal Reversal even sent my Operative report to the Doctor I had chosen and he thinks I am a good candidate for surgery, however I dont have the funds to pursue that right now.I am currently just praying and leaving it in the hands of God. I am looking for information online about those who have successfully gotten pg after having had a tubal. Especially one done during a c-section and over 10 years ago. I have read that for some reason that seems to make a difference the longer it has been since the tubal and whether or not it was done during a section.

Still no period, Neg. quantative blood serum test. The doctor says he wants me back in 2 weeks if no period by then. I don't know what to think anymore. I want to believe what my body is telling me but tests say otherwise.
