To annette, the answer is no. in my years of working in the healthcare field, i've never heard of a pregnancy test showing if it is ectopic. It may show a positive or negative result since a pregnant woman has all the symptoms of a regular uterine pregnancy. The only way to know if it may be ectopic is if you're having side pains as opposed to the other symptoms, and you go to the doctor to get it checked out. If in fact that is the case, then please don't wait too long to find out. Good luck.

that is NOT TRUE.. I had an ectopic PG. and it did show up on a HPT.. so please do not tell ppl it wont...

To Annettee - You can get a positive from an HPT if you have an ectopic pregnancy because I did even when my period was 2 or 3 days late. But I think that what Tryce is saying that a HPT can not be used to determine if your pregnancy is ectopic. You will need to go to the doctor and get an ultrasound done to determine exactly where the pregnancy is. Hope that helps.

When I gave that answer, I was not trying to offend anybody by telling them something wrong because I was also told the same thing last year when I thought that I was pregnant. And to the person whose test was positive, well someone must have explained it to you wrong. Next time say your name so I know who are. Theres no need to hide on this forum.
