To Kim...why would we use birth control? According to the chartsin dr's offices everywhere, once you have a tubal ligation you will NEVER BE PREGNANT AGAIN. So why wouls we bother with the ha__sle of keeping up with birth control when we took the step to control births with the procedure...or so we thought.

Hi all- I sat up the other night reading everyones posts. You see nine years ago yesterday right after by third baby girl was born via c-section, I had the doctor tie my tubes. He cut, tied and tucked them back into my uterus. I never cared while I was still married to my now ex-husband. Five years ago, I met the love of my life. He loves me and even married me 2 years ago knowing that we would never have children of our own. As luck would have it, I started a new job a little over a year ago and the health insurance was Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield. They covered the cost of having my tubal litigation reversed. I had that done in October. At the end of July we found out I was indeed pregnant. I say was because after more than a week of bleeding and crying and worrying I found out yesterday that my HCG levels are going down and my doctor says I am or have miscarried. I really wanted to post to just thank you all for sharing your stories. It was a comfort to know that there are other women out there that have similar stories.

Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who posts here. Reading your stories have truely helped me to deal with alot of things that are going on with me right now. I had my TL in 97, and I am also going to Dr. Perez in September to have mine reversed. I have had all of the symptoms that some of you have had, including the late periods, painful periods, mood swings, weight gain, even acne, ACNE, I am 31 years old, I have never had that. Anyway I have two wonderful children 11 and 8 and I too like others had a TL because of a mean, cruel x husband. Now I am with a wonderful man who has no children of his own, but is in the process of adopting mine. We are wanting very much to have a child together. I have read some on Post Tubal Ligation Syndrome. Have any of you read about this? It sounds to me like we are all having the symptoms of this syndrome. I am hoping with all of my heart that this TR is a success, and Dorothy, how has your success been? Do you feel like it was well worth it to travel to Mexico? I have mine scheduled already, and I am ready to go....I just hope that God will grant me the honor of being able to have another child once this TR is complete. Good luck and best wishes to everyone who posts here, God Bless......Tanya

I have done alot of research on Dr. Perez, and as far as I can tell he is very good. I have had several women email me who have used hm and I have my appointment scheduled for September 25th it is on a Sunday. The total cost for the surgery and lab work is $2150. There is a shuttle and the have some recommended hotels on their website <www.riobravoreversals.com>
they have recently added a deposit so that some of your cost is paid up front, and it is $300.00. I found that there are several web ministries that will help you fund your surgery as well, you just have to take the time to research this stuff, also, if you go to church, you may talk with your church, and see if they can help you out with the cost. The cheapest place I found in the US was $5500 ~ tanya

I just want to say thank you to all the ladies here who have shared their stories. I had my tubal done with my csection May 04. I don't regret my decision since I had many health problems during my last pregnancy that put my daughter at risk as well. She was my 3rd child. My kids are 14, 13 and 15 months. My problem is everytime my period is late I start playing that "what if" game in my head. Today makes me 1 day late and it's of course happening again. I had zero pg symptoms at this stage with my daughter. I think my husband would go off the deep end though. He would love the child of course but we did decide together the risks were too great. Good luck to all of you.

Hi, I have just spent most of my day reading these posts, as I also had my tubes snipped and burnt ( I think, lol), my husband said he saw the doctor do it, 9 years ago in Nov. I can't tell you how many months I wondered if I was pregnant again and had been a few days late. Every time I wasn't, but my concern is for all of us who have to go through all these post tubal symptoms and experience such bad periods now. My pms symptoms are much like pregnancy symptoms every month now. It is horrible. Not many doctors even acknowledge a problem with tubal ligation and post problems for us. So, in a way it is comforting to know I am not alone, but makes me also mad that we were not informed of the side effects. I have done some research and seems like for a lot of women it actually can throw us into an earlier menopause. I too am sorry I had this done, but my husband and I do have 3 wonderful children and are now considering adoption. Also, just a thought...I too have blood clotting and wonder how many of us have experienced miscarriages w/o even knowing it, might be more of us then we think. Gina, congratulations and you must keep us posted as it is truely a miracle and for those who have had the eptopic pregnancies, thank-you for sharing that with us as well through to the end. That is something hard to do and harder to go through. God Bless, you women!
