This is to all the women questioning getting pregnant after TL....I have been on here a couple of times and I have done some more research to add. I have heard of many women who get pregnant and have the baby healthy after having a tubal ligation. I think the failure rate is a little higher than the doctors say. But hey what do I know? lol....I'm not a doctor. I had a tubal(cut and burned)6 years ago and 3 months ago I did get pregnant....I did end up miscarrying...but the whole thing is the sperm met the egg and made it to my uterus which would not have happened if the tubes was blocked as it is supposed to be. So I am not convinced that a tubal ligation is as effective as they say. Hope this adds a little food for thought. Thanks...lisa

I really didn't think it was possible to get pregnant after having your tubes burned. I had my tubes cut and burned Sept 01 after my fifth child. I'm almost three weeks late, I'm experiencing nausea every time I eat I throw up the smell of certain things make me sick, my b___st are sore, I'm more tired then usual and pee often. I thought it was all in my head, but now I see that it is actually possible for me to be pregnant.

to jenn29: Isn't it crazy? I think you should get a pg test just to be sure. It is true that when you get a TL the risk of ectopic pg is higher which can be life threatening so if you think you might be pg it is good to be sure as soon as possible. Keep us all updated....I don't know if you want to be pg or not but either way good luck! Lisa

Hey girl as soon as I found out I was pregnant 5 yrs after a tubal ligation my husband immediately made an appointment to get a vasectomy. They usually want to talk it over with you and then have you come back after they are sure you and your wife are completely sure that's what you want, but when my husband told the Dr. what had happened and that I lost the baby, he did the vasectomy right there in his office. We haven't had any scares since, and its been almost a year. Good luck!

I had a Tubal Ligation in 1997 but they did some thing different than cut and burning. They put clamps on. I think I may be pregnant now and worried that it may be tubal. I have no pain but have all the signs of pregnancy. If any one can give me some suggestions it would help.

hey there... sorry it took me so long to get back with you ... school has started back, and I am VERY busy.. I need to catch up with you guys. About having the sperm tested... Yes, we did that, and my husband was a drinker at the time, but it had no affect on the count. Thank the Lord he does not drink any longer... He has totally changed his life since we found out about the baby. My other children are just as excited as we are about the new addition, we just can not wait. I am 15 weeks now, and still getting sick every single day (all day I might add). I feel like God has truly blessed us with the ability to have another chil, and I feel as though I was lead to Dr. Perez, because I found him when I had all but given up on the thought of ever having another child. I know that they say the Lord works in mysterious ways, and I am a total believer. As much as I enjoyed my children being the ages they are, I could not help but long for another baby, and Dr. Perez made that dream a reality. I wish you all the ver best of luck in your journey with the dream of motherhood, and if there is anything I can do to help please let me know...Best wishes...Tanya

I have a son and a daughter. My daughter will be 3 in oct. i had a tubal (cut and burned)2 weeks after her birth. I too, like many of you, have since divored my husband. I i'm now in a very healthy relationship and so badly want another child. I am ALWAYS on time for my TOM. But, I was one day late (a first, excluding being preg. the first 2 times). I refused to get excited. But when it did start, it was a funny pink color, not the traditional red that i normally have. I have been experiencing fatigue, dizziness, and nausea. All of which could be from my TOM. My sis-n-law had gotten pregnant 3 years exactly after her tubal (cut and burned). She now has a bubbly 4 year old girl named Miracle. I can't afford a reversal. So MY only option is to wait and see if God sees fit for me to become yet another miracle story. Even though by reading this it seems quite often, if is still yet amazing. I have enjoy reading. bless you all.

I have been following this site since May of last year. My tubes were tied December 2000. I am age 35, with a 12 y/o daughter. I track my period and it is 28 days exactly every month. I checked the calendar that I use and the time that it showed I should be ovulating we were also s_xually active on those days. Today my period is now 7 days late. I took a test this morning but it was negative. Although, when I became pregnant with my daughter my first hpt also showed negative. Today is Friday, and I have decided that if I do not start over the weekend then I will make an appointment with my doctor on Monday. This will put me 10 days late for my cycle. Both my boyfriend, and myself, are so hoping that I am pregnant. I will keep everyone updated. I am trying so hard not to get excited and think that I am pregnant so I will not feel let down when I start my period. I have been so tired this week, and suffering from headaches. To all of those that are hoping for reversals and pregnancies I so hope that you get them, and good luck to all.

Hello everyone! I had a TL after the birth of my son six years ago. For about 6 weeks I have been extremely tired, nausea, b___st tenderness, frequent urination, strange food cravings, mood swings, increased appet_te and the list goes on (prego symptoms right) but I have still had my regular cycle. Has anyone experienced these symptoms with a menstral and been prego? My aunt had her tubes tied and became prego after 11 years and had no idea she was prego until her 6 month. Just wondering if this has happened to anyone else.

I am amazed with all the stories of prenancies after a tubal ligation. I have a 5 yo daughter and a 16 month old son and had the tubal ligation procedure done in June 2005. I just found out that I am 2 months pregnant and it is the hardest thing I've ever had to deal with. My husband and I decided that we were done so I took what I thought was extreme measures to NOT become pregnant. I will end up delivering this child while my son is turning 2. I feel so out of control and wish this could be one of you that really want it. I hate to say this but I don't.

In addition to my comments, have anyone of you that became pregnant after the tubal ligation looked to see if the tubes stayed clamped/tied (whatever procedure was done on you)? What are the chances of those clips falling off?
