In addition to my comments, have anyone of you that became pregnant after the tubal ligation looked to see if the tubes stayed clamped/tied (whatever procedure was done on you)? What are the chances of those clips falling off?

To Laura: I was just wondering which tubal procedure you had done. Did you have the clips or cut and burned? I know that the clips have a tendancy of failing easier than cutting and burning although it still fails quite a bit more often than people want to think. I got pregnant after having mine cut and burned...I miscarried but nothing is impossible. I am still hoping I will get pregnant again if the Lord is willing.

I had the clips. This particular OB said that is the most effective procedure. I wish you the best with your desire to become pregnant.

Yello ladies..since the chances of getting pregnant after a tubal is very slim to none,, does anybody know the odds after you pay all that money to have them reversed. I had mine cut and burned sine 1999 and i really want another baby ?

Reading this forum and the fact that I am pregnant 6 months after the procedure, it doesn't seem to be slim-to-none to get pregnant.

To all you ladies - February 22

It would seem that the odds of not getting pregnant after a tubal ligation are slim to none. there are just far too many people on this forum getting pregnant after a tubal, and it doesn't seem to matter whether they have them cut, burned, tied, clamped, banded. Nothing seems to work consistently. My husband got his vasectomy right after I found out I was pregnant last year. We haven't had any more scares although I am still heartbroken over losing the baby that I should never have gotten pregnant with in the first place. The way I see it, the only surefire way not to get prego after a tubal is to have both partners fixed. Or ask to have uterus removed, which doctors are not too keen on doing unless you have problems. Good luck to you all!

Can anyone answer me? I had my tubes cut and burned 4 years ago and have never missed a period. I am now 6 weeks late and wondering what my chances of being pregnant are.

Well I have a story too...I had my tubes tied burned all that jazz when my husband was in the service 14 years ago. My baby will be 14 this year....I havent had a period since Dec 2005 and its now March 1....Im nauseated, tired, just like I was pregnant. I am in denial cause I have 2 grandkids and one one the way, but it would be wonderul. My husband just reenlisted, after 13 years of being out of the service..and now I might be pregnant again, love the forem...been reading it all night..!!!

I really wish I had read this before I got my tubes clamped. I thought I had taken the extreme step that would stop me getting pregnant. Of course, I was warned there was a risk of ectopic pregnancy, but I had no idea you could actually have and deliver a live baby. How stupid I feel, I wish I had done some research. I had my tubes clamped in Sept 05 and recently found out I was pregnant. I a__sumed it would be ectopic, but it isn't. I am against abortions and my partner is happy about the pregnancy which leaves me having baby no. 7 when no.6 is only 9 months old. I am also about to turn 42 and am not happy about the whole situation.

I will go to the dr soon and let you all know. Good luck everyone..and count your many blessings....big and small.

I can't believe doctors are doing this procedure on young women of 21 and 23. I am in Australia and doctors wont do it unless you are over 30 or have at least 3 kids. It is obvious that women often regret it later and wish they didnt do it. I only had it done because I had 6 kids and felt too old to have any more anyway. Unfortunately, it didnt work for me.

I am 32 years young and the mother of 4.I had my tubes cut and tied in 1997.I have symptoms every now and again but this past month I had morning sickness for two days and a cycle that lasted two weeks.I went to the doctor and know I have to get an ultrasound cause my uterus is larger than it should be.I dont have fibroids any thoughts?

Yaya--I read your post on here about Dr. Perez. I read all of the testimonials and discussed it with my family. I am scheduled for my TR on May 27th. Thank you for posted about the TR information, it has been a blessing for me and my husband!!!!!
