Hi, I am 5 weeks pregnant and just went formy first prenatal appt yesterday. I had a miscarriage in Oct 2004 and they found a pool of blood where the placenta was and that it didn't attach(thats his best guest). Yesterday, he put me on 25mg Progesterone supp. He said it will help carry the pregnancy until the placenta attaches. Is this normal and has anyone else gone through this? I am very nervous that I am going to miscarry again. I do have 2 beautiful kids, 4 and 5.

I had spotting starting last week (7 weeks). Went to Dr., progesterone was low. They prescribed Progesterone, which I finally was able to start yesterday (problems with the pharmacy kept the rx from getting filled until then). Over the weekend the spotting continually got worse, until it was a lot more like bleeding than spotting. Since starting the supplements yesterday morning the spotting has slowed dramatically. I am very hopeful that the progesterone will help me to keep this pregnancy. This is my first pregnancy, I am now 8 weeks. It's all very scary!

Hi Jenn. I have to use progesterone supp with every pregnancy or I will miscarry. (I miscarried my first pregnancy because I didn't have the progesterone and my levels were low) I have had 3 beautiful children and no side effects to myself or children. They are very safe and effective.
