I am glad I found this info!! I am in that terrible waiting period between u/s. I cannot focus on anything else! I went in on mon. (this is my first) and found out I am 5w5d (I thought 5w6d...so real close!) and found out it is twins! I was so excited. They said it all looks good, but the hbs were low (94 and 96) The doctor was very open and said he was very optimistic, I don't go back until the 27th! The waiting is killing me! Any idea on twins??

Kris - congrats on your pg :) If your dr. is optimistic then that must be a good sign. all of our dr.'s, from what I remember, were guarded about our prognosis, and unfortunately we didn't have happy endings. But you have a totally different situation so you might very well have a wonderful ending to your story. Let us know how it goes. Good luck!

Kris: Twins...how wonderful~*~*~*~*~*I know the wait is terrible. Why not call your doctor's office and move the appointment up so it's 1 week between visits. Tell them anything to get it moved up (family illness and travel required if you are not in danger etc.) One week is long enough for you to see a positive upswing (higher heartrates!!!) When my doctor saw my baby had a heartrate of 91...a visit was scheduled for the following week...mandatory!!! You really need your peace of mind ASAP. You can always see another GYN to get a "sooner" U/S if your doctor refuses you. A second opinon is O.K!!! Hopefully your doctor will be senstive enough to your needs to grant you this request. How I am hoping that you will have these two beautiful twins without any other worries. I'm so happy for your "double" blesssing~*~*~*~*~*Love & Hugs (to you all...smile).

hi kris, i too, was told my babies hr was only 107 , when i was 6 weeks pregnant, i went back 3 weeks later and they said it went up to 174, the doc said that it was probably too early to , most u/s are done by the 8th or 9th week.i guess he was right.good luck and keep us posted.

Hi Kris--I've been trying to track down a post I pulled from a WebMD pregnancy board---when I posted about my situation a woman, who was now a healthy 31 weeks preg or something, told me about her experience in early pregnancy with her twins. . . it was very much like you're describing--and everything turned out fine. 94 and 96 are pretty darn close to 100--which is what the "magic" number is. . . and you're not even 6 weeks yet. For your peace of mind I WOULD insist on going in again sooner, but maybe the docs aren't concerned. . . but if they weren't, why would they bring it up. . .???? I'm wishing you lot of lucky---and calmness if possible. Only answers, however, seem to provide any relief. Good luck! You DO have a good chance of all being ok!! Becky

You all are wonderful...you have given me a calmness! I was searching the web and I found a site that said at 6 week the hb should be between 90 - 110. I haven't had bleeding but some minor cramping. DR said this was normal. I am also taking progesterone...anyone know about that? What is normal? I started at 10.1 the DR said he'd like 12 - 15. I am now (after 2wks on the awful stuff) at 13.18. Thanks again for all of your support...you have no idea how much it means! (I started tearing up when I read the respones....maybe that is just the hormones :) )

Kris - I don't know about the progesterone, but re: heartbeat - it all sounds good. Hang in there and keep us posted :)

Hi everyone, I just wanted to update every body, I had wrote a couple of weeks ago. my babies heart rate at 6 weeks was 109, I just went back and got another ultrasound and the doc said that the heart beat was up to 166 and everything looked great! I am now eight weeks pregnant and I am thinking everything is going to go well, Does anybody know the odds of miscarrying right now in this stage of the pregnancy? I have a bad history is miscarriges. Good Luck to you all!

Lesley - June 16

Christine - that's great news! So nice to have a happy ending on this board :)

OK girls, I went to one doctor a week ago and I was 5 weeks 3 days and they saw the heartbeat but it was slow - 86. The Doctor said "this means it may not be a good pregnancy, you could miscarry. I'd give it 50-50". So, for the last week I've been agonizing. She wasnt' going to be able to see me again until this coming Monday, so last Monday I called and made an appointment with another doctor, someone a friend had recommended. Anyway, I went to him today. He was so great. He totally put me at ease. He did the ultrasound himself and said the heart looked great. He didn't even want to bother measureign the bpm because he said he could tell by looking at it that it was totally normal. He's been doing this for 30 years so I guess he knows. Should I have insisted on getting a read out? I'm thinking that last week when I went in the heart maybe just started beating and that's why it was slow. Anyway, I feel so relieved, but still a little anxious to get another U/S (which will be a week from tomorrow). Wish me luck! 2 weeks ago I didn't even know if I wanted this baby (I'm single), but now I know I do!

CHRISTINE and ANGELA---Congratulations!! And THANK YOU for changing the tides on this board!! We needed a new groove here! Thanks for sharing your good news!! Kris you make sure you come back here and post the happy news about your 2 little ones--for future attendees of this site!! Becky

Rain - June 17

ANGELA - that's great news! Congratulations! We've all been waiting for good news on this board. If your new doctor says the heartbeat looks fine, I would be pretty inclined to believe him. I was an ultrasound tech for a few years (although I was cardiac and not fetal). You can easily distinguish between a heart rate that is 86 and something that is more normal for babies (something upwards of the 120 range) just by looking. This is why mine weren't so fun. I knew that there was something wrong without even counting. My estimate was that my little one only had about 60-70 bpm, if that. So, it looks like you're clear! :D CHRISTINE - it's so good to hear that your twins are doing well! Think positive thoughts. You're going to be celebrating the end of your trimester soon. Please do post and let us know how you're doing :). ~Rain

Rain and Sammousse - Thanks guys! when i posted on here last week i was really depressed. I think it just shows that anything can happen. It makes me mad that my other doctor scared me so much. I know they want to prepare us, but i was SO early that it would seem a slow heartbeat at that point shouldn't be interpreted as a sure miscarriage. Anyway, i'm breathing a sigh of relief but still nervous until i go next week to make sure everything has stayed normal. .

I've been reading this thread since late May due to my concern of my baby's slow heart beat. My heart went out to all of you as I waited for my next ultrasound. I lost my little one on June 9th (8.2 weeks into my pregnancy). The week before, my baby measured 6.3 weeks @ 101 bpm, but my husband and I still had hope. I was so scared and worried, but knowing that there were other Moms out there experiencing my anxiety and fear made me feel not so alone. The loss of my little one was a tremendous b__w for my husband and me -- we wanted and loved this baby so much. I was angry at God, I wasn't sure what I did wrong, but now I understand that my little one is in a better place. I don't know what else to say - I'm sure many of you understand without me saying nothing else. For those of you who are still waiting on a more robust heartbeat -- have hope and pray -- God is in control of everything -- He knows the desire in our hearts for a healthy and beautiful baby. For those of you who's babies are going to make it -- you are truly blessed to be given such a priviledge! Below is a song by the Christian Group "Watermark" that made me feel better after the loss of our baby. I hope it help you all too. Glory Baby, You slipped away As fast as we could say baby, baby You were growing, what happened Dear, You disappeared on us baby, baby Heaven will hold you before we do Heaven will keep you safe Until we're home with you Until we're home with you CHORUS We miss you everyday, miss you in every way But we know there's a day when we will hold you, we will hold you And you'll kiss our tears away, when we're home to stay We can't wait for the day when we will see you, we will see you But baby let sweet Jesus hold you, until mom and dad can hold you You'll just have heaven before we do You'll just have heaven before we do Sweet little baby, it's hard to understand it Cause we are hurting, we are hurting But there is healing, and we know we're stronger people Through the growing, and in knowing All things work together for our good And God works his purposes Just like he said he would, just like he said he would CHORUS BRIDGE I can't imagine Heaven's lullabies And what they must sound like But I will rest in knowing Heaven is your home And it's all you'll ever know, all you'll ever know

Crystal~ I just went through my 3rd miscarriage so I know this pregnancy thing can be so hard. Just remember that whatever happens is meant to happen. When you are meant to have a baby....you will. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason. If God bring you to it...he will bring you through it!!! Keep the faith!!!!!!! Best of luck to you!!!
