I am 5 wks preg now and I have been spotting every two days (today red).US done and they said can't see sac or anything..Just a cyst.Will do next blood test in 3 days to compare to see if HCG levels rising properly.Also light cramping.Has anyone had an ultrasound at 5 wks that showed no sac at all? I am also worried about the cramps and spotting.Worried cyst may be the baby (in tubes I think she said).Will go back for 2nd us in one week.Very worried..What should an us detect at 5 wks?

It should at least detect a gestational sac and probablly a yolk sac although it may be early for a fetal pole(baby). I know I went to the doc for an u/s at what I thought was 5 weeks and all we saw was a gest sac but my dates were off and i was only in my 4th week. When i went back one week later you could see everything and I am now 9 weeks! So i wouldnt worry this soon. I dont even know why they give u/s this early to make our little minds go crazy. I will say a little prayer for you.

I am beside myself with worry right now. 4 days ago I started spotting, just brownish blood to start off with, on and off. Then barely anything for a whole day and yesterday a little red-brown spotting. The same today. I went to the docs yesterday and had a US this morning. I thought I was 8 weeks but turns out that I'm only 5 wks. The scan showed a sac and what looked like a 2nd sac or perhaps the blood coming away. Has anyone been to a scan and seen 2 round black blobs? (excuse the phrase) Or when you have been spotting/bleeding and been sent for a US have any of you seen what could be blood? Or have been told that? I have no cramps or back pain at this point. Went for a blood test today and have another on thurs. My emotions are just all over the place. I can't relax. This message board has been of some comfort to me tho'. It's nice to not be alone!!!

I wrote around 1 week ago, i was spotting for three weeks- Saturday i had red bleeding for about 1 hour no pains-just was cold-had a few chills so i took a nap for about 3 hours. Woke up fine in fact bleeding was brown almost clear, on Sunday it was going away. I made appointment for Monday just to make sure everything was ok; they did the ultrasound and found nothing there (i was 8 weeks). I had no pains and pa__sed no clots so i have to schedule an appt to have a D&C (i think thats the name of it) they must remove anything left over inside of me to make sure i do not have an infection. I am so sad and cannot help but cry- this was my first pregnacy. Hope everyone else does not have this happen to them.

I am currently 8 weeks pregnant. Had been spotting since week 5. Twice I have episodes of bright red bleed and sometimes with clots. Had an u/s yesterday and baby is fine. Doctor is now a little more optimistic since I have pa__sed week 6. However, still have to take it easy. I also had a bit of help with alternative medicine. I am Chinese and have been told that my womb is too cold and this causes constrictions and hence tearing causing the bleed. So at the moment, I am on some herbal drinks every 3 days. Also, I was told not to eat cold food and drinks so I am not drinking anything cold and I totally cut off salads cause cuc_mber and lettuce are cold foods. I eat cooked vegetables instead. I know this can be a challenge.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss Michelle. My heart goes out to you at this difficult time. I posted a few days ago and since have been spotting on and off with a lot more red blood which has become a little heavier on and off(Filling a pad). Yesterday I was cramping for the first time and a lot in the middle of the night. My doctor called me with my blood results yesterday. He said that they were normal for a 4 week pregnancy. I've just come back from my second test and await further results. I'm praying everything will be ok. If anyone would like to talk to me please email me on emandmike@kol.co.nz. Thank you all for your posts, It has been so comforting to find that others are going through what I am. I am currently almost nine weeks along but I started spotting last Friday. I was so upset because I had a miscarriage back in April which started with spotting. On top of that I had a tubal two years ago. The spotting has been continuous for a week, light, brown to red, and a few small clots. With my last miscarriage the bleeding got heavy within a few days, and the cramping was horrible. With the tubal I had no spotting but woke up one morning with terrible sharp pains. Both previous pregnancies ended by six weeks. I am hoping and praying that this spotting will stop and I will have a healthy baby this time! This is so frustrating and heartbreaking! You are all in my thoughts, I hope this post may be helpful for others.

I had spotting at six and a half weeks. I too ended up in the ER in a total frenzy. It was a brownish-pink color. As well, only when I wiped. So far it has been about a week since the last spotting. I am encourage by the stories that each of you have shared. I am inspired by the strength that you all have. My prayer will be that our heavenly mother will bless you all. God bless.

After my last 2 postings I'm sorry to report that on Friday I miscarried. The long, agonising wait is finally over. My baby has gone! My 2nd blood test did indeed show that my hormone levels had decreased. My cramping became severe Friday night, along with continuous bleeding. (I was pa__sing a lot of blood, big clots for about 5 hours straight) My partner ended up ring A&E and they advised that I go in. They gave me an internal, blood tests and strong pain killers. 5 hours later I was back home. I can't do much but cry right now. This is my 2nd miscarriage. I am still bleeding a little but the worst is nearly over. I don't think it has completely sunk in yet. I'm so sad! I want to wish you all the best and all the luck in the world that this doesn't happen to you. My thoughts are with you all right now. Just hang in there and be positive.

i am 5 weeks and having some abdominal pain very light. spotting brown alittle. worried had miscarrage 3 months ago

Hi I haven't wriiten in a long time, But to cheer some of you up, I started spotting at 6 weeks and that lasted for a couple of weeks. When I was 10 weeks it stoped and I have heard the heartbeat and have had 2 ultrasounds in the ER and everything is going fine. I am 14 weeks already and spot free for about a month. My advice is hang in there and be positive!!!

Paula: that's great news and very encouraging. I'm still getting the brownish/pinkish discharge - more so when I've been very active during the day or when I've been physically active. It's not constant. I'm beginning to think it's a physical sensitivity - I hope that all continues to go well for all of us experiencing this frustating uncertainty.

hey there, I'm 8 weeks pregnant too and experiencing the exact same thing. I've been told so long as the bleeding doesnt become a flow, and you dont have bad menstrual cramping then you should be ok, but just take it easy.

Hi, I posted my message on 8/14 about my brownish spotting, unfortunately, i had a miscarriage on 8/30 @ 10weeks+. The spotting was ona nd off at first, in that 2 weeks time, i had 2 US and both showed heartbeat but second US showed low amniotic fluid in baby. I was just bleeding like menstrual at first and started cramping on afternoon of 8/29, when i went to bed that night, i was still cramping but at 5am i had the mother of all cramps an i pa__sed the fetal tissues..went to ER and the dr confirmed MC. Anyway, to all you ladies out there that are still going thorugh the bleeding/spotting, i know this is a very confusing situation for all of us, but we just have to be strong and positive. Spotting/Bleeding is very common in early pregnancy but I lost my baby and I know it happened for a reason. Good Luck. Sending you all happy and healty pregnancy....
