I'm now 14 weeks pregnant. All is well but I've been spotting and bleeding non stop from 6 weeks on. Sometimes it's brown staining and spottin and 3 times I've had heavy bleeding with one time pa__sing more than 10 clots. Yet, the baby is healthy and my doctor said that the blood is not coming from the uterus or the placenta. I don't think this will stop until I have the baby. Has anyone else has this type of bleeding and spotting throughout their entire pregnancy. I am grateful that my baby is safe since I miscarred in November but this is getting ridiculous. I just needed to vent. It's very very annoying, and it's killing our s_x life. But I know it's all for a good cause. Anyone with a simular situation?

Elaine:
I am still spotting and am 16 weeks, 1day today. I had red bleeding 3 weeks ago and had a couple clots. However, now it is going away and I hope it will be completely gone in another couple weeks. My doctor told me he has had some women that do spot their entire pregnancy and deliver healthy babies. This gives me hope. I know what you mean about it affecting your life as I am so ready to get out and excercise but I can't for awhile. Keep us informed. I am willing to go through anything as long as the baby is healthy.

Hi PC, thanks for responding, it's nice to know someone else is going through the same thing you are. Did your doctor tell you where the spotting and bleeding was coming from... my OBYGYN says it's not coming from the baby, maybe it's coming from the cervix.... I just want it to go away. I wanted to start swimming but I can't... I wanted to start doing more aerobics but I can't. You're right as long as the baby is healthy, I'll do anything. This is also suppose to be the best time to have s_x with your husband, care free, no worries, now we have to abstain in case I have more bleeding. ARGH!!! Are you refraining from s_x too? My doctor didn't say we shouldn't , he just said that if we do it could irritate the situation even more. Who knows!!!

Elaine, I have been spotting with a 1 day bleed since the beginning, I am now 19 weeks, and Baby is healthy, they don't know why some women bleed during pregnancy, but my mom also did through her pregnancy, so I am trying to not worry, but it is hard, and this is my 2nd child, my son I never bled with him at all, so this pregnancy is very different.

Hi ladies, I am a mother of two children. I am currently pregnant but I am not sure how many weeks I am. I am a__suming that I am approximately 6 weeks. I had the flu two weeks ago and my fever was extremely high. The doctor recommended that I take robitussin. Anyway, two days later I begin spotting. It started as bright red, brown and sometimes light pink. I went to the doctors to test my hcg levels and I'm going to call tomorrow for the results. I'm going to get a v____al ultrasound on
Wednesday. I read some of the other messages and I see that spotting is quite normal. I was worried because I did not spot with my two children. I wish everyone the best during their pregnancies. The lord will help us and guide us through everything.

This site has really taken away a lot of my paranoia. Although I am still a little concerned it is nice to hear I’m not the only one. I am 5 weeks pregnant. During weeks 3 & 4 I noticed some slight cramping, (like period cramps) around the time I should have gotten my period. That seems to have gone away for the most part, but today I started having some brown spotting. I work in retail and am standing for most of the day, I wonder if I need to take some time to rest. I still have not been to the doctor. Any advice? Good luck to all!

Hi Elaine:
My doctor told me the bleeding was coming from my cervix. Most of the time he found outon the outside of the cervix but he did find some on the opening of cervix. He said the ultrasound did not show where it could have come from as the baby and placenta were fine. My doctor did tell me that s_x could irritate the cervix if it was hit during s_x. He did tell me he wanted me to abstain but mostly because he said the ejaculation can irritate the cervix.
I am almost 17 weeks now and my spotting has almost disappeared. It is more of a darker yellow now than brown and has been like that for 5 days. My uterus keeps growing and I finally had to break down and buy some maternity clothes yesterday. I don't need the shirts yet but my pants are tight. I am so excited as this is our first baby! There is hope out there, as I am living proof that the spotting can go away. I am slowly adding in more walking. I have done a lot of praying and bible reading. I have felt as though God is with me and watching over this baby. In fact, I don't know if I am having a boy, but I have a strong intuition in my heart that I am. I am going to name by baby "Joshua", which stands for "The Lord Saves". My situation and all the years spent trying for a baby, money spent on infertility, surgeries, failed IVF & IUI attempts, spotting concerns and now to be here today where I am - preganant with this baby is truly a miracle. I hope everyone can feel the same about their blessing.

Hi ladies, bleeding can be normal in some cases. For me it wasent, but I am also a high risk patient. Normally when your going to lose the baby you have heavy bleeding and cramps along with clots. In some cases that still doesent mean that your going to lose the baby. Like other women have said the clots and bleeding came from the outside of the cervix. ATT: LAURA, If you are standing all the time I would stop that if I where you. That can put too much stress on you. Standing for long periods of time could be dangerous for you and your baby. I just thought I would tell you what my doctor told me when I had a job like that when I was pregnant. Wish all good luck

Hello Ladies. As many of you have said before me, it is rea__suring to hear that I am not alone with what my body is going through. I just found out that I am pregnant by taking a test on this past Monday. By my calculations I am 3 weeks pregnant today. I have been having a very very slight scratching feeling on my left side. I do not normally have menstrual cramps so I am not sure if this is cramping or not. I had not noticed any bleeding to all until today when I wiped. I did notice a very little bit of red blood. I tried wiping again but no blood on the second or third wipe. I am very nervous because I have had a blighted ovum a number of years back and also miscarried a number of years back as well. I do have one healthy son who will be 13 tomorrow. It’s been so long since I have been pregnant so I really do not remember feeling any kind of cramp of scratching pain. I just got my blood taken today and I guess I will find out tomorrow what the HCG levels are. Reading what you all have wrote I will probably go to the ER if I see any more blood just to a__sure myself that my cervix is closed. I never thought of that until I read what you ladies posted here. I thank God for all of you and I pray that we all have safe and healthy full term pregnancies.

im almost 23 and around 4-5 weeks pregnant. last AF was 4th feb. im almost 100% sure i miscarried last month. i had spotting for 3 days (when i usually only get one day before AF) and then severe cramping, nausea and hot flushes which lasted several hours, along with mid-heavy bleeding. this month, when i noticed i was spotting again, i a__sumed AF was here and my partner and i spent the weekend eating junk food and drinking vodka.. the spotting continued for another 5 days before i decided to take a HPT. it showed very faint positive. 2 days later (yesterday) i went to my doctor and we did another pregnancy test which showed up very strong positive.
the spotting has now lightened but is definitely still present (enough to worry me.. if only slightly!) and only when i wipe. considering the pregnancy is this early i a__sume it would be a waste of time to do an ultrasound.. so im playing the waiting game until this time next week. its very nerve wrecking! as much as i feel this website in invaluable for us women to realise we arent alone in our fears, i also feel that its detrimental to worry so much! if the pregnancy is going to fail there isnt anything we can do. rushing off to doctors, blood tests, ultrasounds.. and all the worry.. isnt likely to make a difference.
eating healthy, staying positive and concentrating on creating a loving and secure environment for the child growing inside you is the best anyone can do.
good luck to all of you! ill keep you all posted on the progress of my little one :)

HI Leessha I read your comment and thought I would make a note to it. I feel that this website is great and it is wonderful to hear that I am not alone with what I am going through because you cannot find this type of information in a book. I think every woman here knows that there is not one thing that we can do about the bleeding or the cramping or whatever else that will or will not happen. And not one of us said that was our plan. What I got out of this website is great information and if I need to a__sure myself that my cervix is closed then so be it. Most of the people that shared their stories on this site did it to help others not because they are worried. I can tell you this, I am worried. I am staying as positive as I can but I am also human. I am eating right I have been to the doctor I am staying healthy, taking in more Folic Acid and so on. But we are all human and for those of us that want this, we will worry and want to read about others going through the same thing in order to try and get back to being positive. Again, I thank God for this site and all of the comments on it. We all do things to help us stay positive and for me it was reading most of the comments and possibly going for an ultra sound if I see any more blood. Things like that are done to prepare for what happens next. In some cases, if a person decides not to act on different pains then that person can be putting their own health at risk. If any of the comments on this site help even one person then I guess this page is doing its job. Good luck to all and do whatever you need to plan for whatever may happen next. No one is wrong for that.

Hello All, This is my first post. Here is my situation. I have had 4 confirmed m/c. I am now pregnant. LMP ws 2/6. HCG on 3/7 was 181. HCG on 3/9 was 602. This is our first time under the guidance of my new fertility specialist. We have undergone every test that we have been presented with. All of the tests were fine. She said that I was borderline with PCOS and prescribed Metformin because it wont hurt. We also started Progesterone suppositories 3 days after positive ovulation test. SO......I have had brownish spotting but the DR seems to think that as long as my HCG is going up, I am okay. An hour ago I had bright red bleeding with a couple of clots. I have a scheduled HCG test on 3/16 and US the day after if the HCG looks good. I guess I don't have any questions other than is anyone else having the same issue?
