I am 6 weeks pregnant. Everything looks normal other than the spotting that has happened since today evening. I am going for the first v____al ultrasound on the 4th of August. hopefully everything is fine. This is my first pregnancy. So I dont want any complications.

I just got a long distance call that my daughter who is 24 weeks pregnant had some brown discharge this morning and is now at the hospital getting some tests done. Has anyone experienced this before at 24 or more weeks?

Ieshea, And Katie, I'm so sorry. It's heartbreaking. Never give up hope. I lost at 5 weeks and concieved again on my very next ovulation. I'm 8 weeks pregnant now and things seem to be going well at this point. Have you ever heard of Natural Family Planning? Its a great way to concieve sooner and it eliminates a long waiting to find out if you've concieved. I had a positive pregnancy test 10 days after I ovulated. First Responce Pregnancy Test has the earliest detection. I know that in some cases they say to wait 3 months before trying to concieve, but I was told because I lost my baby so early and didn't need a dnc that it should be fine to start trying right away. I did make sure my hcg levels were negative before I tried again though. For me deciding to try again helped me heal the hurting inside faster. I don't think of this new pregnancy as replacing the old one, I think of it as another chance to help my family grow. I have a 1 1/2 year old son who I want to have brothers and sisters. Good luck and again you will be in my prayers.

Has anyone had spotting on and off in their pregnancy and have delivered yet or know of anybody? I am now on my 9 week and still have spotting, and everything seems to be ok. Does anyone have the same problem?

Claire, Did you know that at 6 weeks your baby has legs and arms with little hands and tiny fingers ! Your baby's heart has begun beating . Please think hard about the small miracle inside you. Where there is a will there is a way. Good luck to you and your family.

Hi All - I have felt better knowing that I am not alone. I am 18 weeks pregnant and have been spotting light pink and sometime brownish, since I went to my last dr check up last month. I had an early stage ultrasound done as well as a ob sono last week, the baby is doing fine. I am just worried because I didn't go through this for my first pregancy. I am worried about having a miscarriage even though I do not have any severe cramping and I am not bleeding heavy. I am trying to stay calm, but its hard. I have my monthly check up in two weeks. Due you think I should wait or try to get an earlier appointment?
Just also wanted to say thanks for your stories - it really does help, epecially for those people who have similiar situations.

Ladies,
I'm relieved to learn I'm not alone with the spotting issue. I am seven weeks and just began spotting today (dark brown color) only when I wipe after urinating. I too have some minor lower back pains. I was so scared this morning that I immediately called the doctor. They squeezed me in for blood work and an ultrasound. The ultrasound revealed a heartbeat and showed everything was fine. The doctor couldn't explain why I was spotting, but he did recommend no exercise or s_x until the spotting goes away. Good luck to everyone. I'll keep you posted...

Hey, Susan
You pointed something out that I had a question about: How long after a miscarriage do you REALLY have to wait?
I have posted here several weeks ago, going through the same thing--I had a miscarriage, a "blighted ovum" and luckily was able to have a natural miscarriage. My baby stopped growing at 6 weeks, and I was about 8 weeks at the time. It took a few weeks for everything to pa__s naturally, but it did pa__s last week. I've been bleeding and spotting lightly, and was told that if I am bleeding after 2 weeks, to go see the dr.
Anyhow, my question is, I am ready to start trying as soon as I stop bleeding (and once I've also gotten 0 hcg levels). Is there really any "danger" in trying to conceive immediately after a natural miscarriage????
This miscarriage still makes me depressed at times, to think about all that was lost, considering that it took my fiance and I about a year and 1/2 to conceive this first time. The thought of having to wait even a full cycle frusterates me. I want a healthy baby, and I am ready to try now.

I am 8 weeks pregnant and the past 2 days I have been experiencing a brown discharge. It will be in um underwear when I go to the bathroom, and it is there when I wipe. This morning when I wiped there was a little bit of blood, but I don't think enough to be concerned about. I called the doctor, but they couldn't get me in til Aug 17. I hope everything is okay...and it is very rea__suring to see that all of you are going through the same kind of thing!

Emilee, I can't believe your doctor will not see you any sooner ! If I were you I would look for another doctor. Best of luck. *SERENA* I think its important to ask your doctor his/her opinion on when it's safe to try again. Altimately it's your decision. Go with your instincts. Mine said it was okay and I got pregnant on my very next ovulation. I had one nurse say it was fine to try right away and another said to wait 3 months. If no dnc is done and hcgs are back to normal I don't see what difference waiting makes. Tomorrow I will be 10 weeks and things seem to be going well. The Best of luck to you .

I know...I can't believe it either....Through out the day the bleeding has become worse, and I just recently had a clot of blood come out. I am going to the ER to find out what's going on...

Well, here is an update on my pregnancy. I'm not 21 weeks 4 days (according to my last US i'm 23 weeks and due Thansksgiving! We'll see). Anyway, I still get the trace spotting every 3 or 4 days. I've been to the doc and he said everything is okay. I just had another US to follow up the last one, and everyting was okay. My cervix is long enough, so he isn't worried about incompetent cervix. And my placeta is away from my cervix. I've just been doing trial and error to find out what is causing itl I'm not on bedrest or anything and am still working as an RN at a hospital. Since I've had the US and been to see him, I've quit worrying about it. THe baby is healthy at 1lb 4 oz and is measuring long. Heart beat was 144. No defects noted. I'm feeling lots of movement. And I feel pretty good (other than tired) and have only gained 2 pounds (i'm overweight so that amount of gain is okay). So, happy to report all is well at this time. I go back Aug 17 for my next appointment. But believe me, if I start spotting a lot, I will call before.
