I too was diagnosed with a subchorionic hemorrhage at 11 weeks 4 days. I woke up to bright red blood on my bed and then went to the ER a__suming the worst. They found a heartbeat, performed and ultrasound and advised it was a subchorionic bleed. I stopped bleeding within 2 days and then at 14 weeks, the bleeding started again, but was dark brown and has been here for 4 days going on 5. I am a worrier, but my DR heard the heartbeat (very strong) yesterday and checked that my cervix was closed and found only blood and mucous not tissue. Re-a__sured me that 90% of these turn into healthy babies. Please pray for me as this is very hard to deal with after having a very healthy baby 25 months ago with no complications.

I too had a similar thing happen to you, so there is hope! I posted a while back, but didn't get any responses, but maybe I can help you. I was brown discharging from 5-8.5 weeks at which the scan showed a small subchorionic bleed. At 11ish weeks I woke in a pool of red blood at 3am and shortly after pa__sed a clot the size of my palm in the toilet and I was cramping. They thought the worst and so did I, but we did a scan at 9am and there was bubba 120bpm hr, even though a few days earlier I had a scan and hr was 167bpm, bubba was just stressed. I then brown discharged for 2 weeks and I am now 19 weeks and I had a scan yesterday and bubba is really well. Hr of 155bpm. My gyno suspected I had an early placental abruption and I need to pa__s the clot for the placenta to heal back to the uterus. So I am really stoked and am so thankful of this miracle child. My gyno is really hopeful that everything is ok now - he says I have been through the worst of it now and if I was going to m/c it would have happened with that profuse bleeding. I haven't discharged for at least 6 weeks now (touch wood). I just know all will be ok now. Hope yours turns into a story such of mine, getting lots of kicks now, so that always rea__sures me bubba is alive and well. Praying for you.
Hope this helps you are anyone else interested. There are good stories that come out of this!

I was in a car accident at 7 weeksand a few days later noticed a very small amount of brown blood. An u/s at 9 weeks showed a 1cm sub c and I was told that the trauma from the accident caused this. I have not experienced anymore bleeding but nonetheless I am so scared of what I don't know and what I have no control over. I go for another u/s Jan.17 to make sure baby is still growing strong. To all you women my heart goes out to you and my pryers are with you!!!

Although I am still worried, it is no longer controlling me. Baby has a h/r of 162 and is growing fine. I am days away from the second trimester and have not experienced any more bleeding. So I take that as a sign that all is well thus far!!!

Karla, my posts were 29th Dec and 6th Jan - just realised you probably didn't know who the heck the posts were and which ones go with which! I too haven't had any bleeding from 12 weeks and am now nearly 21 weeks and bubba is going strong. I am so happy and thankful. My 13 week scan showed active bubba with a healthy hr and so did my 19 week scan just recently. So there is hope, I know we have gotten this far all will now be ok. Feeling lots of kicks which are always rea__suring! Take care and goodluck.

Hello Morgan...I may not have a great answer for you, but i am a nurse and going through the same thing at 17weeks...I started feeling really dizzy and faint and starting having severe vomiting and diarrhea...I pa__sed out and woke to my fiance voice...Very scary..1/2 hour later I felt something like my water break, but was heavy bleeding to the point were I was laying in the tub waiting for help...I got admitted to the hospital and found out it was a very large SCH. I am apparently luck to be alive..it is a bleed or tare that occurs between the placenta sac and uterine wall...My doctors and specialist didnt say much or have a plan, but to take care of me...There is a high risk to the mother for blood loss and depending on how bad the bleed is depended on if blood transfusions are needed...I am happy to hear how light people are taking this because it makes me feel better, even though i am a Neonatal nurse and now the odds of successful pregnancy or what happens if that baby comes too early....Please take caution and ask lots of questions...I am on strick bedrest, I am not aloud to sit up in bed or anything, not even to go to the bathroom...I take my prenatals and very good iron twice daily and have to drink lots of water...I had to take Meds to stop contracting...They pretty much told me that my faith and family is the only thing that is going to get this baby here....I am trying to beet the odds, which are slim to none...so hang in there and do everything with caution and get lots of rest...These bleeds can reoccur at any time...Hope i didnt scare you too much, my case is the extreme and the baby is holding out and still kicking so far...

Becky if you see my post on 29th Dec, you will see I too had something similar but my sub chor heamorraghe clotted, but mine was alot earlier then yours ie: nearly 12 weeks. I discharged brown for 2 weeks and here I am just hitting 21 weeks and all is really good. I was on bed rest for 2 weeks now, but since then I haven't looked back. I am so thankful and blessed, hope your outcome is the same.

The best thing you can do is to try and relax. I got myself so worked up and stress is not good for baby. Don't do any heavy lifting or strenuous activity. As long as baby is doing well which is entirely possible and from what I have heard and read everthing should work itself out, including the bleed!!! Good Luck to you.

Hi Sheree...Its good to hear that you are trucking far along...I had good news today..Baby is doing well 1 week after my bleed and was waving to us when we got a sonogram done today...He looks great..My bleed has shrunk 1/2 the size in a week and the doctor seems to have a plan now..Are your doctors going to let you go full term with this baby. My doctors are trying to get me to 26weeks...They are going to start me on Betamethasone in 2 weeks to slow or stop contractions and to help baby..How many opinions did you get? Hope to hear from you soon..Thanks and hope your little one is getting big..

Becky - again I am so happy I could give you rea__surance, I truely think it is a miracle for bubs and I to still be here and have every faith all will be ok now. I really wanted to try and help someone else as you rarely hear good stories, but I am sure there are many out there. Now my situation is different to yours in that this all happened in my early pregnancy ie: discharge from 5-8.5 weeks and then the terrible large clot and profuse bleeding at cramping at nearly 12 weeks and brown discharge for 2 weeks after and nothing since and I am now 21 weeks. I believe my placenta healed itself as I have being going great guns since, I rested alot and I know that helped alot! And also I wasn't contracting so it was just a placental issue where it came away from the wall and clotted behind it and I needed to pa__s it in order for the placenta to heal. So as far as I am aware I can go to full term the doc is not at all worried about me now which is great. I hope that helps, if there is anything else I can answer please let me know. I did have a subchorionic haemorraghe on scans early that led to the placenta problem though. Take care of yourself and rest up heaps. It will all be worth it in the end.

Just wanted to add another happy (so far) story. I posted earlier when I had a small bleed at 10 wks and a 2nd larger one at 14. I was on bedrest for a little over 2 months and now both tears have healed! My Dr. said that when you have a tear that it increases the chance of preterm labor, but just to listen closely to your body and report ANYTHING that doesn't feel right. So, for those of you with tears - rest, rest, rest. Don't do any lifting but do a lot of praying.
