Great news LH, please don't ever use a tampon again, that is really not good while you are pregnant. You take it easy now ok. GL. eyes82000 - Great news on the sub h getting smaller, more rest for you though, I did and mine completly went. SherryMicheal- sorry don't know about the stuff they put on the cervix. But hey you are at 16 weeks now and my gyno told me at that stage we had a 98% chance of non m/c and here we are at 34 weeks. Yippee.... Maylee you rest up now you hear. Well I thought I would update you on my news and give you all a bit more hope. As you have probably read my dramas and if not the posts are still there. I don't appear to get any bigger and because of the bad bleeds and clotting doc wanted me to have a scan to check all ok as he suspects I am high risk to go early too. It is only now i know all is ok, and it has finally totally sunk in that we are having a baby. How weird is that, I knew there was a baby, but just knowing it is growing regardless of the size of my belly is so rea__suring. So at 34 weeks bubs is 4 pound 12 oz which is on target but from the gyno's appt on Tuesday to scan on Wednesday bubs turned breach on me. But we still have time, so hopefully he/she will turn. Take care everyone.

Hi Ladies: This is Hope. I visited my high risk ob specialist today. The bleed, which was 6cm a month ago, has become a very thin line. The baby (21wks 4 days) weighs 1lb 1oz. All is well. The doctor has sent me back to work! Now the allergy season has come. I was not taking medication for it, but I started having symptoms of asthma, so I started albuterol. I wonder how many new things I am going to experience with the third pregnancy! Happy Easter!

I went to the doctor on Tuesday and my bleed was smaller than it was 2 weeks ago which is a very good thing. Now for the past three days I've had a very watery brown color on my pad. I've been having the dark brown stuff for a week and half and now it's like a little spot of dark brown and then all this watery stuff. Has anyone had this before? I don't want to sound stupid, but you don't think that for some reason it could be aminotic fluid?

I have started to bleed 2 days ago now and I am in the end of my 11 week. I called my doctor and was told that it could possilby be related to having intercouse and to go on bedrest for the day and it should stop in 24 hrs well it hasnt and I called again to the doctor and was told that there isnt much they could do except hope for the best and stay on bedrest and go to the doctors office on Monday morning. I have had 2 prior pregnancys full-term w/ never having any bleeding. This is very new and very scary. I sit and think either its something that may be fixed or am I loosing this baby? I dont have any cramping and the blood shows when I wipe after going to the restroom it also has a mucas touch to it (slimy) not sure why and a couple of very small blood clots..What could this be?

Some women bleed in pregnancy for no apparent reason. Any time there is significant bleeding, though, you may be given the dx of "threatened miscarriage." But 50% of women who bleed heavier than a period during pgcy go on to have healthy babies. If you have an ultrasound at your next appointment the OB can tell whether there is a heartbeat or if there are any growth restrictions etc. With this pg I have had very heavy bleeding episodes that seemed exactly like my prior m/cs but each time the baby showed up growing with a healthy heartbeat on u/s. I have been dx with a subchorionic hematoma which is like a blood ma__s that forms under the chorion (which is part of the placenta.) Some doctors say bed rest does nothing. Others recommend bedrest just to be on the safe side. Best to take it easy in any case (no jogging, heavy lifting, and drink lots of water.) Let us know how it goes. Amy

Bleeding is very terrifying and unfortunately they can not always tell us why we bleed. I have had 3 miscarriages and finally went to a fertility clinic. After surgery and medication I finally made it past 6 weeks of pregnancy without any problems. Until I hit the 12 week mark of my pregnancy and had a gush of red blood for two days. Ultrasounds say everything is fine but it still does not ease my fear. I have been on bed rest for over two weeks and the bleeding comes and goes. It is frustrating because I will not bleed or spot for 3-4 days and then it starts up again. I have even had a second opinion but no one knows what is wrong. All they can tell me is to stay positive, take it easy, pray and wait to see what the out come will be. Being told to wait and see is the worst... when you see that child and hear that heartbeat, it is instant love. The fear of losing that unconditional love is so overwhelming at times and can drive you and your husband mad. Try to stay positive and I pray that all of us have the desired outcomes that we all deserve.

Well update to my posting. I ended up in the ER this morning to find out that I had a "spontaneous abortion" in others words a threatened miscarrige. My outcome was not what I wanted but I wish and my thoughts are with all you during these trying times. I do have my 2 little girls and husband that are makeing me feel a whole lot better...

Has anyone heard anything about possible effects healed tears/bleeds can have on delivery? I had two, one on each side of the placenta, and am just worrying about whether they could cause an sort of problems when I go into labor. On the bright side, for all of you who are going through the anxious waiting period, my Dr. told me at 14 wks that I only had a 50/50 chance. Now here I am at 36 1/2 wks! There is hope.

I am almost 10 weeks pregnant with my second child. I first bled at 6.2 weeks and went to the Er which showed a normal looking fetus and heartbt. I was told to take it easy. After almost 3 weeks, I went back to work even though I was still spotting lightly. On my second day at work, I felt a gush and had a very heavy bleed, blood that filled my pants and a towel on the ride home. I thought for sure I was miscarrying. Later that day, I pa__sed 2 large clots when I urinated, each the size of a small plum. The next day, my doctor did an ultrasound which showed a normal baby with heartbeat. He thinks I have a subchorionic bleed but didn't see it clearly on ultrasound. I am seeing a perinatologist the end of the week. I never had any bleeding with my first pregnancy which delivered a healthy girl via C-section. Can this be related to prior C-section? Maybe the placenta is over my scar? Do anyone of you have a subchorionc bleed with a previous C-section? Thanks

Natalie-Nat - June 13

Hi-It's Nat--I wanted to update everyone that I have reached 25 weeks and everything has been great since the original problems mid-first trimester. How is everyone else doing? Also, LisaHope I haven't had a previous c-section but I've also never heard of any correlation between prior c-section and sub/c bleeds.

Hopeq - June 13

Hi Nat, I am doing fine. I am 30wks+1day.

fefer1 - June 13

Hi all, Im at 28 weeks and everything is fine. Bleedng stopped around 16 weeks. No real cause for it either.

maylee - June 13

My update is not so good. Bleeding put too much pressure on the amniotic sac...sac ruptured... led to labor... delivered our son at 20 weeks 5/30/06.

Help! I'm 8w1d,I took 3 hpt all positive well, I started bleeding 2 nights ago, it was bright red. I'm freaking out because I had just gone to the doctor that day to confirm the pregnancy. I had some cramps the night before the gush of blood but then they went away & I was fine until the next night. I'm not bleeding alot now, it's only when I go to the bathroom & it is dark red/brown. I had a doctor's appt today & the lab does not have my results back yet & I have to wait until 3pm to get them after sitting in the doctor's office for hours. My doctor said come in monday. I'm so confused, I want this baby so bad and I think I may have had a miscarriage. Up until now I could tell my hormone levels were giving me a constant headaches& now it seems that they are going away. I wish I knew what was going on. I'm glad I found this forum because it's given me some hope that maybe I didn't miscarry. My prayers go out to everyone.

Natalie-Nat - June 16

Hi Babyblues, I am very hopeful for you. There are many many positive stories here that should help you through the next few days. Did your doc indicate he/she would do a sonogram to verify that everything is ok or only a blood test? I would suggest asking for a sonogram if you have not had one scheduled yet. Good luck!
