I am 9 weeks and just found out my thyroid is very low. What effects can this have on my baby....and me?

Hypothyroidism (low thyroid levels) can make it hard to conceive to begin with, but also those with low levels have a higher risk of miscarriage. Get the levels corrected with a replacement thyroid hormone you take daily and you should be fine.

if you take meds for this, it should have no effects on your baby. Just make sure that you go to a dr. and get your tsh levels tested asapso you can get the correct meds. My obgyn said to get retested around every 4 weeks, while my endocrinoloist(thyroid dr) said every trimester.
