My husband and I have tried to have s_x at 6 weeks postpartum and then we tried again at 9 weeks and it hurt so bad that we had to stop. Is this normal? I had an episiotomy but it was not bad and healed after 3 weeks. It does not hurt at the episiotomy site but more like inside when we have s_x. Does anyone else have this problem?

Not to depress you or anything but I had my baby 4 monthes ago and it still hurts a little bit. It was inside for me to. I asked my OB and he said that it is normal to hurt for a while after s_x. I think it is from all the stretching. Hope this helps.

I remember that also....it hurt for me for a long time also...yes it is normal for some. 6 weeks is not always the magic number for everything unfortunately....bodies are different and some take longer to heal inside than others.

Hi, when I had my c-sections s_x hurt inside for months. Is it like a sharp stabbing pain and then an ache that lasts for quite awile afterwards? Doctors told me to go slow, use lubricant, relax, yadda yadda....finally after my last child was born they finally figured out it was scar tissue and adhesions from the surgeries. Maybe your ligaments are still tender inside from the pa__sage of the baby.

We finally tried to have s_x last night 8 weeks pp and it hurt so darn bad that we had to stop. I had a csection so i didn't even think it would be an issue but whenever he would go deeper it would hurt more. What i found helped a little was me on top and me controlling the depth but it was still too painful...i thought it may have been because we havent made love in over 4 months and things got tight...its a bit of a mystery to me.. good luck anyway!
