Hi Ladies, I am a first time mom and my son is 10 days old. For about the last four or five days I have had what I think is Baby Blues. I cry about all kinds of things, worry, am anxious, want my husband to be home all the time. I tried for quite some time to have this baby, and I love him and we are bonding well...I just didn't expect to be sad right now. Did anyone else feel like this? And how long did it last for you? Any advice is appreciated.

Hang in there girl, my babe is 7 weeks now, and i had the baby blues. I thought it was ppd. The best thing to do is to talk to other mom's about it, or there should be a free couincler in your area, that deals with ppd... good luck and it dosent last i promise

the same happened to me..when my ds hit 5days old i started being very emotional...worried about everything from money to daycare..and even told my husband that I didnt like my "new" life. I was like that until my ds turned 15days. Just make sure you talk to someone..anyone that will listen..it makes it all the better. i hope you start to feel better soon.

Thanks for the input, it's nice to know i'm not the only one who feels this way. Glad to hear it probably won't last that long.

I'm sorry that you are feeling the way you are but it does give me a bit of relief. I read that a woman can get the "Baby Blues" anytime in the first year. My baby girl is 6 weeks and I have been fine. Except for last Thursday: I cried all day. I was depressed about school (I'm going back to college to be an RN) and finances. I think it was mostly b/c my husband was working a week straight on 12 hour shifts. Thursday was the lsat of the seven days. I think I was depressed b/c I'm home alone all day then when he comes in he doesn't want to help with the children or pay us any attention b/c he is tired. I felt better Friday. But Thursday was really bad. I know how you feel and it will get better.

lucky, you are not alone for sure.
I had alot of anxiety from about day 3 in the hospital until a few weeks after we got home. I was about to be a stay at home mom, after working for 15 yrs and it really freaked me out. I couldnt eat...and was really scared to be alone w/the baby. Well, after my MIL left, I couldnt wait to be alone w/him. lol. The cloud lifted and I loved it!!! I think I was even on a little hormonal high for quite awhile.
Just hang in there, ask for help, and take care of yourself and your baby...everyone else can take a back seat for a bit.
Good luck and congrats.

I am glad to hear that I am not alone. I have always been a very happy person and I feel blue right now. I don't know why. I also don't want to be alone. My husband is back to work and I want him here all the time. I don't think he realizes how I am feeling. I have been emotional like I am about to get my period.

If the feelings last longer than about 2 weeks then it is probably postpartum depression and not just the baby blues. Then you should go see your doctor.

I just hit 7 days postpartum today and i feel so lonely and bored. I dont know what to do. I keep crying like i am alone in the world. It doesnt help that my hubby is working constantly to keep our bills at bay.
