I gave birth 2 1/2 months ago. I had an epidural (thank God for that!). My back is still really sore at the site of it and up & down my spine. It is really achy, almost feels like it does when you have the flu. I eat Ibuprofen like its candy. Anyone else having this problem?

I gave birth 8 weeks ago and I still get really bad pain. I asked my doctor at my 6 week apt and he said it is normal to have this pain for up to 1 year after delivery. It seems crazy!! I notice my pain is worse when I get up from a sitting of laying position. Hard to believe it could last for 8 more months!! Good luck and feel well!!!

Okay reading this is kind of scary because this is my 3rd and I am considering an epi with her. I delivered the other two v____ally with no epi and I know I had terrible back pains for a few weeks. They kind of felt like the same pains I had during labor. But had no idea that the epi may cause this for such a long time.

starr...i wouldn't worry too much. from what i've heard it's different w/each person. during labor it took over an hour and seven pokes in my back (because i have a slight curve in my spine) so that could be the reason for the pain. it's still bothering me at 4 months. dr's all say it's normal, but i asked if i could go to physical therapy because i'm so sore from being preg./labor /carrying my colicy baby all day that i can't sleep at night. but it's worth it. just so you know....i do pllan on having an epi w/the next one also.

I had my baby a month 1/2 ago and I still get back pain after I have been leaning over for too long. I don't plan on having another epi.

ok, well i feel really bad for those of you who still have back pain, but for the women now scared to get an epidural...dont be. I had one and im fine, my sister in law had one and she's fine (both had babies less than 4 months ago) i never felt back pain, well just the usually from having a baby. and because my chest is bigger it hurts a bit if i dont wear the right bra, but its not from the epidural.

it took me almost 7 months to get back to walking normally again without the intense pain at the epidural location. i thought it was "normal" until i posted elsewhere and heard many other stories. it will pa__s but if it doesn't - call your doc
