Ddi any of you ladies develop high blood pressure either at term or right after you delivered? If so, how long did it take for it to go back to normal, and for you to be able to stop taking meds?

We don't know what causes high blood pressure towards the end of pregnancy, it may be an autoimmune disease. It is however short term and will usually go away in about 6-8 weeks. Continue to take your medicine until your doctor tells you to stop. High blood pressure does not usually have symptoms but puts strain on your heart, which can cause damage after a long period of time. You should know that as you age you are at higher risk for high blood pressure later in life so be sure to have it check every 6 mo to 1 year.
