High Blood Pressure Swollen Feet And Hands

I just had my handsome baby boy on March 7 (induced due to preg induced hypertension, i was due March 23). I know it's only been a couple of days but my blood pressure is still pretty high. I was just wondering if anyone had the same problem and how long did it last. My doctor prescribed blood pressure meds but I don't want to spend the rest of my life having to take them. Also, how long till your feet and hands stop swelling???
