It seems like after I had my son, who just turned 1 on
9/3/06, my body doesn't have it's natural lubrication that it used to have for s_x. I still get aroused, but my body doesn't respond the way it used to. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this normal to have happen after giving birth?

Yes it is normal, but you may need a little help with an estrogen cream to get back to normal. Contact you doctor and let her know about the problem. I am having the same problem, but I am only three months out from giving birth. She said to call her in couple of months if it was still a problem. In the mean time, I am using Astroglide personal lubricant. Its supposed to be the best and most like the natural kind. You used to have to ask for it at the pharmacy counter, but Walmart now stocks out of the shelves with all the other personal lubricants and condoms. It has really helped.

at walmart you can get KY personal lubrication. It comes in a tube like monostat and you insert it in yourself and it lasts about 3 days inside of you. It is a like saver. I did not know that the dryness can last up to a year-wow. My son is 5 monthes old and I thought that was bad.

It sounds normal that a woman would be dry after giving birth. I'm not sure how long it would last, but it may just be the way your body is designed. There are some women who are able to produce b___st milk for three or four years, so maybe it's a similar issue. Talk to your doctor. As far as lubricants go, my doctor suggested using KY. He's pretty good [one of the few I know who doesn't jump at a prescription opportunity ] and from what I've read it's quite effective.

Also...if you are nursing... that messes with your hormones as well. Once you have dropped the nursing, then you will truly be back to "yourself".
