I had my darling little son on 9/28 via c-section after discovering I had a huge blood clot almost the size of my leg. I was placed on blood thinners in the hospital and have been taking Coumadin since. It took 6 weeks for me to have my first period, which lasted 8 days! I attributed that to the blood thinners. I was due for my second period 2 days ago. I have some symptoms of cramps but am still waiting. My husband and I have been careful since I am on the Coumadin. The thing that worries me is that my cycle was like clockwork before I got pregnant. Should I take a pregnancy test or wait it out? The only problem with waiting is that should I be pregnant I need to stop the blood thinners immediately.

You should probably test and if you don't get a period within a week, see your doctor for a blood HcG test. Childbirth can really screw with your cycles, so it could just be that, but since it could be so potentially serious I'm sure your doctor will want to find out for sure what's going on. i had my daughter 5 months ago and my period just now finally got back to 'normal' a couple of weeks ago your going to be "out of wack" for awhile test and just try to relax
