I've never posted before but have read a lot of good advice on here during and after my pregnancy but here is what baffles me. I am a first time mom and do not know if this is normal. Basically, my son is 12 1/2 weeks old and after my c-section, I am still bleeding!! It changed from bright red and heavy to brown and icky. I thought it was over then I get what seems to be a period. OK, not so weird - ends in a week or so. Then at 8 weeks pp, my doc puts me on the pill. I take it for a week then here's a "period" again. So I've had this painful unrelenting thing till now. Very painful and heavy. It's still going strong too. I go thru a super in a couple hours.Should I see the doc or will it regulate? Anyone?? Will I bleed to death??lol

I forgot to say that I was induced for two days (12 hours each day) before my c-section. Could that be contributing to this? Maybe my uterus was put through more so I bleed longer? I'm just clueless I suppose.

I would definitly call the doc just to make sure everything is ok. I bled for about 6 weeks.

Yeah, I'm going to go out on a limb and say see your doctor. You are going to be anemic if you aren't already. I had a c-section after being induced the day before and stopped bleeding around the 5-6 week mark. Everyone is different, but that seems excessive, and the pill you are on may be not right for you if it is doing that, especially since they are supposed to make periods more manageable usually. I would call them and let them know everything and see what they want you to do-you may just have to be on iron for awhile. Good luck-keep us posted.

I am wondering if you went to the doc and what they said. My dd is 6 months old and I am still bleeding. I have been on Depo now for 5 months, usually that stops my periods, but not this time. I'd say I bleed 20+ days out of a month, some light some heavier, I am very aneimic, but can't take iron supplements, plus just the fact of bleeding this long is very upsetting, but my ob doesn't really have any answers other than its my hormones. I have a script for bloodwork but haven't had time to go. Please let me know what you find out. I thought I was the only one with this.
