i'm getting ready to have my baby this week and i've been so swollen these past few wks. i was wondering, for all of you that have given birth, how long after baby does it take for all this swelling to go away....the hands, feet, legs, etc. just wondering.

I was very swollen with my first and third babies- they were born in the summer. After delivery I actually became MORE swollen- it went up to thigh level with my first and hip level with my third (my second baby was born in January and I didn't swell much). I didn't think that could be normal, but the nurses a__sured me it was. It was gone about two weeks after delivery (as was about 30 lbs. of water weight:)). Good luck- you'll soon have your sweet baby and your swelling will be a thing of the past before you know it!
