This Weight Has GOT To Go Anyone With Me

I'm 3 months pp and am feeling so gross! I gained 40 lbs with my ds and lost all of it within the first week. HOWEVER...between Christmas, my body replenishing fluids and being cooped inside I've gained back about 10 lbs! I was overweight to begin with and I'd like to lose 50-60 lbs if and when I can, but I'm bfing so...what can I do to start feeling better about myself? I know I can't be dieting while I'm nursing, but I have been exercising 3-4 days a week consistently and I see NO change. Once it warms up we can go outside and walk, walk, walk, but what should I change until that happens? My dh tells me to be patient and that it took 9 months to gain it, give myself at least 9 months to get rid of it, but I don't think there's any woman out there that wants to still look and feel 5 months pregnant 9 months later! Can any of you ladies sympathize or relate?

Oh Kiersten! I can relate! I am almost 2 months postpartum. I gained 30 lbs during pregnancy and lost 20 of it already. Although that is pretty decent, I cannot get rid of the last 10 lbs. & to be honest, it doesn't bother me too much, but it would be nice to lose this loose piece of skin on my belly. Alot of people I know do say that you should give it a good 4-5 months. Well, if anyone else can give advice I would love to hear what has worked and that there is an end to this! I would hate to think that my body just gets destroyed after having a baby.

Evae, glad to hear I'm not alone! I just want to feel confident with how I look and give my dh the gift of a new me! It's too easy to sport the tired, haggard look and I just want to feel s_xy dog-gone it! :-) My dh is so sweet and tells me the skin and stretch marks are marks of love that I got when I gave him his son. But,...I'm not lovin' the marks of love! LOL Are there any good indoor exercises I can do to trim without building bulk? I LOVE being a mommy, but I think I need to lose this weight to really feel good about myself. Man, even losing 5 lbs would make me feel better at the moment! I've hit a plateau with the weight loss and I guess I just thought that nursing would help a lot with that...naive, I know. So, how are you? Is your lo getting better with the eating or what did you end up deciding about that? 2 months...my ds will be 3 months this Friday. :( Where oh where does the time go? Is he smiling a lot at you? I just about melt every time my little guy shoots me a smile or giggles. Ahhh...I'm in love. :-) Cookies in the oven...gotta scoot!

I feel the same way....I'm 6mos. pp and I gained 40 lbs during pregnancy, lost 20 of it and gained back 15 since giving birth. Yes, I weigh almost as much now as I did when I was 9 mos. pregnant. After I had worked hard for 2 years to get my body back into shape I got a "surprise" pregnancy with my 3rd daughter and it just doesn't seem to want to come off as easy this time around. I feel horrible, I don't even want to have s_x with my husband. We were just getting our s_x life going again when I had lost the weight and now I just feel gross. I exercise 3x a week and try to watch what I eat but nothing is working. My body is firming up and I'm losing inches but the scale won't budge....

Crystal, curse those scales! :-) My one comfort is that it's cold out so I can cover the bulk with heavy sweaters! LOL I think the most depressing part is my stomach. I'm doing ab exercises every day and when I push in (boo-hoo) I can feel the muscle, but my skin's just too saggy to tell. And those stretch marks! Oh my word, I thought I'd gotten through pregnancy without getting more than one or two...and then I had him and saw everything that was hiding under my belly b___ton!!! AUGH!!! I know what you mean about s_x. My dh tells me all the time that he thinks I'm beautiful and is still attracted to me, but I just have a hard time staying in the mood. I mean, I'm fine if I can leave all my clothes on, but if I catch a good glimpse...the magic's gone! I still do it, but I have to work at not thinking about how I look when we're together. Being able to get out and walking once it's spring will probably (I hope!) help. I can't wait until it warms up...

Kiersten - Weight Watchers has as nursing program for nursing moms that I started after my first son - it was great! So long as you keep up your liquids and follow the plan you can lose while nursing -I did. Good luck

Kiersten, I can't wait for spring either! I want to go out jogging. Hope I have the energy to do it everyday, lol. I jog on the treadmill right now but it's starting to get boring. And yes, stretch marks are the worst. I gained 60lbs with my first dd and thought i had gotten through my whole pregnancy without getting one and then a few days after having her my stomach and legs were full of them! I used cocob___ter lotion with my last 2 pregnancies and it seemed to have helped, I don't have any new ones so far, didn't gain quite as much weight with them either.

ew i know how you feel. i gained 37 lbs with dd but i lost it in 4 months. i gained 32 with ds, and he is now 4 months and i weigh exactly the same as when i had him. i lost 19 lbs at first but now i've gained every lb back. i ask a lot of females how they lost their weight and they say stress, but i think thats bs because i'm am severely stressed and depressed and fat as a cow.
