Types Of Formula

I recently had twins and they got very jaundiced after I brought them home so I was forced to stop br___tfeeding and they returned to the hospital. It was really serious and they thought my one little guy was going to need a blood transfusion. Anyways the formula they gave at the hospital was Similac Advance, but it gives my babies really bad gas after every feeding so badly and it is unbearable. Any suggestions on a better kind?

I was actually coming to post almost this exact question. My baby isn't here yet ... but I am planning to b___st feed AND formula feed ... and I wanted to know what everyone thought the best formula was.

I bf'd my son for 6 months. After that he needed more than I could give, so I started him on GOOD START formula. I chose it (silly but true) because I liked the commercials. But the pediatrician said its the best kind (closest to mothers milk) and it is also on the cheaper side (bonus for me!) I have heard some horror stories from other mothers - having to swtich between this one and that one because of gas or what have you. Good luck to you though!!!!

I have been through multiple formulas with my little one and he had major gas problems. I finally found one that worked for him-Enfamil Gentlease. It is in a purple can and the doctor gave me a sample. It works wonders-he is not pulling up his legs, crying and fussing anymore. I love it! He was also jaundiced and was hospitalized after release.

I have been using Similac Advance, i noticed when i was using the Avent bottles he was getting a lot of gas so i tried a different bottle, Dr. Browns, it works great. so i didnt change formulas, but the bottles sure made a difference...
