just curious to how it feels the first time after delievering! I had an episotemy, I delivered 4 wks ago. DH and I tried it last night, but it was still pretty painful, and didn't get anywhere. How long till the pain goes away and does feel like when you finally can do it?

First of all, you need to wait at least 6 weeks and then get an ok from your doctor before having s_x! Your body needs time to recover!!

I had an episiotemy during my son's birth two weeks ago. my hiusband and I had s_x twice and it didn't hurt that bad, but to me the little pain made it better. so I guess it might just depend on the person.

I plan to ask the doctor when it'll be okay to be intimate with my husband again. Believe it or not, when I had my other children (my youngest, from my first marriage, is 17), the doctors felt it was okay if you had s_x (if you felt up to it) prior to your 6-weeks' checkup...just wait until the bleeding had stopped and use a condom, so as not to run the risk of an infection. In part, I could see where it could help tell if there was any unusual internal pain that you might not be aware of any other way.
