HI, MY BEGINNING WEIGHT WAS 125 MAY 2005) AT MY FIRST APPT. MY ENDING WEIGHT WAS 165(11/9). AT MY 4 MONTH POSTPARTUM APPT I WEIGHED 135. (3/6) I HAVE EVEN LOST ANOTHER 5 POUNDS SINCE THAT APPT A FEW WEEKS AGO. FOR ME IT WAS SORT OF TOUGH BECAUSE I FRACTURED MY TAILBONE WHEN I WAS PUSHING, SO I COULDNT REALLY EXERCISE UNTIL ABOUT THE BEGINNING OF FEBRUARY WHEN I FELT MUCH BETTER. THE WHOLE EATING THING WAS HARD BECAUSE OF THE HOLIDAYS. I STARTED A DIET ON JANUARY 1ST. - NO SODA(CARBONATED DRINKS) . NOT DRINKING ANY OF THAT STUFF ABSOLUTELY HELPED ME LOOSE THE WEIGHT!!!! SO WHAT I DO NOW IS JUST DRINK LOTS OF WATER, I STILL DONT DRINK ANY CAFFEINE, I JUST WATCH WHAT I EAT. AND I DO THE TREADMILL INCLINED FOR 30 MINUTES A DAY( OR UNTIL THE LITTLE MAN STARTS CRYING) AND I DO 100 SIT UPS A DAY. THATS IT!! IM CURRENTLY AT 132 POUNDS AND IM VERY HAPPY AT WHERE I AM.

That was a big concern for me too. My son was born 1/10/06. Pre-pregnancy I was 108, I got up to 151 before I delivered but before I left the hospital I had already lost 25 pounds. A lot of the weight for me was water weight. I continued to lose weight (even without exercising) with b___stfeeding alone. It takes an extra 500 calories a day to nourish yourself and your baby. So I have been eatting like I'm still pregnant (everything in sight) and down to 115 (11 weeks postpartum) with no exercising (yet). I worked out the entire pregnancy though- at least 1-3 times a week so that might have helped. I'm pretty young too so my body was able to bounce back more quickly (I'm 24). But for me I think the biggest help was b___stfeeding! Its great- its easy (nothing to prepare at 3 am), free (formula is so expensive), best nutrition for baby (its what they are meant to have) and its great for mom too (who doesn't love to lose 25 pounds in 1 week?). Good luck!

i was 127 lbs, and now i am 165 lbs. -- 9 months later. when i gave birth, i was 164 lbs. i dont really eat, so i dont understand what is going on. i wasn't a big eater before getting pregnant, i had to force myself to eat when i was pregnant and now i am back to eating 900-1000 calories a day. yet im still fat! my waist is now 34, it used to be 25. this is so depressing. i even b___stfed the first 2 months - and lost 0 lbs.

anne - you are not taking in ENOUGH calories, so your body is acting as though you are going through a famine - if you took in a few more calories (making sure they are healthly calories) you would probably eventually see a weight loss.

With my first two babies I was about 140 pre pregnancy and got up to about 180-190. After giving birth I dropped down to about 125 within a couple of months without ever exercising. The only thing I did do was crunches to get my stomach rock hard and then I was fine. I think I looked better after I had babies than I did before. Now with this one, I hope I get the same results accept I don't want to be that small again. Maybe 140-150. You still have to try to eat healthy, drink plenty of water and find some form of exercise(not too strenuous) that works for you. Good luck.
