i need some advice about getting the iud. how were yalls experiences while using it?

I really like mine. I've got the Mirena, had it for over a year. I bled on and off for months though.... had to wear a pantyliner all the time. That's stopped, now I have a very short (as in, really light for just a couple days) period. My husband wasn't bothered by the bleeding, I was tired of it but not enough to find a new/better birth control. lol. We both think it's the best bc we've ever used. I especially like not having to think about it, I'd never remember to take a pill when my son was little. Any other ques. feel free to ask! ~spam

I just got the mirena about 3 weeks ago, i had some cramping and bachache the furst 4 or 5 days, not much bleeding. I just had my first period and it was 9 days instead of the usual 4 or 5.... so far im liking it. and the strings arent so poky like my dh was thinking they would be... he felt em the first time but since they are fine.
