My husband and I just started trying for our second baby. During my first pregnancy I got a lot of Stretch Marks and still have them of course. What do you suggest I do during and after my next pregnancy to prevent doubling those?

I AM CURRENTLY IN MY 1ST PREGNANCY, IM 31 WEEKS ALONG AND BEFORE I GOT PREGNANT I WAS BARELY 100LBS. MY DOCTOR SAID THAT DUE TO MY SIZE STRTCH MARKS WOULD SHOW QUICKLY BUT SUGGESTED FOR ME TO USE PALMER'S COCOA BUTTER FORMULA MASSAGE CREAM FOR STRETCH MARKS. AND THERES ALSO PALMER'S COCOA BUTTER FORMULA SOOTHING OIL FOR LATER IN YOUR PREGNANCY FOR ITCHY SKIN -WHICH SCRATCHING CAN CAUSE STRETCH MARKS. I HAVE YET TO SEE A SINGLE STRETCH MARK. I KNOW ALOT OF WOMEN THAT HAVE USED THIS AND HAVE HAD SATISFIED RESULTS. GIVE THOSE A TRY.

I also used Shea B___ter from Bath & Body on pretty much any mall in the US.....approx $10 per bottle. I think strech marks are something that cannot be controlled -- its just how you're made up. But, if good lotion will help make the skin supple, Im all for it.

I would suggest you buy creams for pregnancy. Cocca b___ter is good with vitamin E. I have cocca b___ter and it's especially for pregnant woman to prevent having stretch marks. You can get them anywhere.

There is no way to prevent stretch marks. But, I hope the things you are using helps. Save up for a tummy tuck, it's the only way to get rid of them.

It isn't just hydration on the outside of the skin that matters but instead - hydration on the inside too. That being said - drink plenty of water and eat a sufficient amount of amino acids (higher protein foods). This way - your body will hydrate the inner dermis of your skin rather than just the outter.

I have 2 children 5yr old and 9 months and Plus another one on the way and with my 2 children I only ended up with 3 little stretch marks and I am only about 105-110lbs. So that is not bad! But I am hoping not to get more with my 3rd child. I mainly got them from my last pregnancy. My daughter was only 5lbs 9oz. And my son that was just born 9 months ago was 9lbs 2oz. Use cocoa B___ter it works GREAT!!

I got the stretch marks right by my hip bone so to cover up the marks I had a little tattoo (BUTTERFLY) put on so it would cover the marks. Just an IDEA!

I am 36 wks w/my 1st pregnancy.I use Palmers cocoa b___ter as well.. I have no strecth marks on my stomach..but I got them on my thighs and the sides of my b___sts.I have heard these lotions are not proven to work, but many pg women say they do. It really all depends on your skin's elasticity. Even if the lotion isn't preventing stretch marks it is moisturizing your skin which gets very dry and itchy during pregnancy so its a good idea to use one anyway! and Brucen, you can get rid of stretch marks without a tummy tuck.Laser surgery isn't too expensive..and it's painless..If you have fresh stretch marks ( meaning not 30 yrs old) it doesn't take many laser treatments to get rid of them..usually costing under 200-100 dollars.

I heard that if you eat healthy, drink plenty of fluids, and use Vitamin E Oil to rub on you every night that stretch marks can heal and no more will appear.

stretch marks have nothind to do with the way you are made up it has to do with how elastic your skin is

Remember too if your mom has stretch marks your more prone to them. I use cocoa b___ter lotion and palmers religiously hoping that I dont get any. Just remember its 50% genetics and 50% lotions.

for my first pregnancy i got huge, but i was lucky early on when someone suggested baby oil with vitamin e or cocoa b___ter oil. put it on as soon as you get out of the shower and you're still damp so you lock in that moisture. drench your body in it, you'll get used to the feeling. try to put it on anytime possible. and remember don't stop using it even until after you give birth while your skin is shrinking back to its normal size. you can get stretch marks from that too. i also drank a lot of water to keep my skin hydrated. good luck.
