I was wanting to see if I could get some advice on the possible date of my conception. My last period was 2-27-07. I had implantation bleeding on 3-27-07. According to these dates does my conception date fall around March 10th or March 17th?

From how i understand conception, it is the whole process, from ovulation to fertilization to implantation. implantation occurs 6-12 days after ovulation. so you cant really pin point one specific day to conception. I'm not sure if your trying to interchange the two terms -ovulation-and -conception- they are very different. most women ovulate every month, but that doesnt mean they conceive every month, they only conceive if their egg get fertilized and implanted. As far as finding your date for ovulation, it isnt necessarily one day either, ovulation can occur from approximatly day 12 thru day 16 of a normal 28-30 day menstrual cycle. you would have ovulated anywhere from Feb 11-Feb 14. and since sperm can live inside a women for about 5 days, and an egg is viable for 24 hours, your strongest s_x days for having your egg fertilized would have been from about feb 8 thru feb 15. I know its confusing, but the only way to know for sure is through IVF. This is why a normal pregnancy medically starts from the 1 day of your last period, and it is considered full term between 38 and 42 weeks.

Hi there, you can pin point date of conceivement if youve been tracking . My OB was able to tell me via the temp charts ive been doing (as i was tracking daily temps)... however, an ultrasound done early can usually place conception date to within a few days. Also, if you become familiar with your discharge enough, it changes when you ovulate , so some women can tell this way...altho I wasnt one of them :)

I think princesa is right. conception is the whole process-ovulation-fertilization-then implantation. like princesa said-implantation takes place 6-12 days after ovulation, so basically conception takes place (from ovulation to implatation) over a period of 6-12 days. ovulation (being day 1) and ending with implantation being (days 6-12). so the process of conception cannot be pin pointed to ONE day since it is a process that takes several days.

women who track, can track when they OVULATE-like princesa said, ovulate and conception are very different---most women ovulate every month, but do not conceive every month.

not trying to be rude, but i am curious to find out how ovulation equals conception. the medical dictionary terms are very different, yet i see so many using them interchangably. Chris- women can tell when they ovulate, both by temp and discharge. BUT JUST BECAUSE THEY OVULATE, DOESNT MEAN THEY'VE CONCEIVED. most women can also tell the day that they had s_x that would have caused the egg to get fertilized, but unless the FERTILIZED EGG gets IMPLANTED somewhere, then nothing was conceived---That is why it is considered a process that happens over several days, and to agree with guest and princesa-- it is HUMANLY IMPOSSIBLE to pin point one day, because, it takes more than one day.
