Pregnancy Info HOME

Hi Everyone, Just as a heads up I'm actually a male! My girlfriend and I haven't been together that long, however she believed she couldn't get pregnant (as per advice from doctors). What a surprise when, quite early, she started getting pregnancy symptoms. We were both in shock, but surprisingly happy/excited! Unfortunately that feeling didn't last, however. My girlfriend has had two previous miscarriages, so we went for an early pregnancy scan. We were told it was about 7-8 weeks, but there was no heartbeat. Ten days later we went back (today actually), and were informed she has probably miscarried. She's opted for one more scan (next week) but the outcome doesn't look good. My question is, how long after a miscarriage/D&C can we try again? My girlfriend has a highly irregular period (IE: Sometimes skips months at a time), which is why we couldn't date this one - it also means the usual advice of waiting for her period to return may not be the best for us. Also on the emotional front, how can I support her? I'm truly not sure what to say - I've been trying to reminder her that this isn't her fault but I feel like she's blaming herself. I dunno what to do or say to try and comfort her, and I feel helpless sitting here while she beats herself up about what she did wrong, etc...
